  1. Coach Bray is who I'm most excited for. Gonna definitely be interesting in how the offensive side falls. Saw where Crabtree (recruiting guy) said he was one of the better young recruiters around. As a fellow fan who likes Bray's potential, this video was interesting (maybe you've seen it). I have not seen that and thanks for sharing! Look at our commits so far, recruiting machine he is! Lol.

  3. If Boyd Eppley likes him then maybe we should give him a chance.oh I'm willing to give him a chance, just like anyone else on this new staff, just gets tiring being a "training school". I don't care about splash hires, just want someone who has actual experience and has a resume. Like the two I named above. They are at smaller schools, no reason why we can't entice them to come here. I'm not upset about the hire, moreso scratching my head about it.
  4. I'm just confused why we can't get Rusty Whitt or Joe Maday! Both of those guys are proven coaches and are at smaller programs! I'm tired of seeing first timers here. That's all I'm saying.
  5. What else would you consider positive? How about; "one of 15 strength and conditioning coaches certified as a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. " And "A certified strength and conditioning specialist and a member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association" Because that was Dobson and we all think we needed someone else, I'll defer to the people making this hire that they know what is needed more than us Just because your certified, doesn't make you the best. Dobson was good, but I don't believe he's even close to being a top 15 S&C coach in the country. In my trade, I do better work than our certified guys. With a guy with such a little resume, it makes me second guess their call. Just like when we hired Paps and Beck in critical roles. I understand hiring people you trust, but this is a business. If there is a proven and better qualified guy open, get them. Or has our program sunk so low, it's hard to get someone like that?
  6. Not sure what to think of the hire. Not really somewhere we need a splash hire, but we need someone who can develop these kids physically and mentally. The only positive I see, is him being under Ivan Lewis.
  7. I doubt it's going to be a splash hire, but I wouldn't mind seeing John Bond, from Georgia Tech as OC.
  8. oh how I've missed you all!

Lmfao. No, tons of personal life issues. Lost my grandmother, and then my girl of 7 years left. Took my daughter with. Just finally had and free time and wanted to see how crazy the board was still lol.

  9. This is a huge loss. Alexander was hands down my favorite up and coming player. He has a knack for the ball and hits hard as hell. We have the talent there to overcome this loss, but we can't overcome the lack of depth we now have there. The guys that are left, NEED to do all they can to remain healthy and plays on a high level come September. Pretty much pen in Gerry at the other Safety spot now.
  10. Little Man Jack, you and your family are in mine and Husker Nations prayers! Kick this thing in the as again!

  11. You can pen in 4 starters (if healthy) on defense right now, Gregory, Valentine, Mitchell and Cooper. Collins could be as well but I'm not 100% on that one lol.
  12. I just don't see anyone taking Cooper's spot right away. Maybe after the season starts, but his experience and ability to be a proven tackler is going to land him the #1 spot. Its going to take on the field experience for him to lose it.
  13. That would be too bad. The longer this silenced drags out the worse I feel about the situation. But for now, we just have to go off what is said and that is he will be back per Bo. He wasn't at practice today, but Bo stated that he was back at home for "Family reasons". This isn't a good sign, but at the same time, nothing has been confirmed that he is off the team.
  14. I could care less where we fall ranked against another division or anyone for that matter, what I CARE about, is the 43% win ration we have going on! Its not like we have really faced elite competition (outside of maybe MSU last year). IMO, this number should be well above 50% for me to even feel comfortable to bring it to mention.
  15. From this kids work ethic, to his film so far, the sky is the limit for him. We NEED to keep this guy. I would say the same thing about Avery Anderson, but he seems to be more than 100% committed. The only thing I am worried about, is Georgia offering Bussey. Right now, they don't seem to have interest, but this is his dream school.
  16. I believe this rule will be better called this year. Seemed like it was inconsistent throughout all the conferences. SEC, they didn't call it much, from what I noticed.
  17. Not sure if your being sarcastic or not, but they do lol.
  18. I didn't care much for the show, but like I stated in Teacher's status, I love the gym and everything it stands for though.
  19. Your not alone on that feeling man. It seems to be an issue. I was often frustrated on all the 3 & Outs we had last year in the 1st. This wasn't EVERY game, but from my memory, it was more often than not. You should get a good feel for how the defense is going to set after your first couple drives.
  20. No need to be a jerk. Just move on if you don't want to read them. What in the hell are you talking about? Who said anything about Tim Beck, or any coach being at fault for TM's injuries? Also, as far as I am concerned, its the COACHES fault for playing the kid injured. We failed to recruit a QB who could at least do some of what he could do. Therefore, coaches played him on TURF TOE injury! Not once, but midway from his RSF year all the way to the beginning of his Junior year. Me being a very competitive person, I don't blame Taylor one bit for playing. You would want to do all you can and put yourself at risk to help your brothers on that field. He did JUST that. Its also the coaches fault for playing him in the UCLA game when he already had a bruised shoulder and a fractured foot. For fu#*$ sake, we didn't even give him time to heal before the COACHES allowed him to play in the Minnesota game. Sure Taylor is to blame for his career being ruined forever, but I put more blame on the Coaches for being selfish and not looking out for what was best FOR TAYLOR. I think its quite pathetic for you to say the kid deserved it. Sorry for my attitude, but it sickens me that you would think that about a kid who literally put his all into this school. (Just to be clear, somehow his original post was removed) I would agree. Beck has show that he can devise a good gameplan (ask Narduzzi and Dantonio). The only QB he's really had was TM and TA for 2/3 a season. I'm looking for a decent jump in production this year. This seems to be one big thing I have seen. Is it that he knows how to manipulate Narduzzi's defense, but really can't figure out the other coaches, or was it due to TM's play making ability? Last year, Ameer did a LOT of work in that game, and Cross had an amazing run through the gut for the TD. Outside of that, TA went 9/21, but had 143 passing yards.
  21. There has been a lot of Tim Beck talk. A lot of negative reports on him from HB, which is no surprise. There has been a string of bad luck that has happened with Beck, that doesn't help prove that he is a good OC. Like the Martinez injury to the OL injuries, then the groin injury to Bell, ACL to Allen and Enunwa being hurt half way through the season. I am personally not sold on him, but I do hope to see him prove that he isn't a bad hire. I hope he dominates, moves on to better things. I mean, this is what most assistants want right? Anyway, the point of this thread isn't to bash Beck, so please leave that to the other threads, but what would you like to see out of him? Don't just say "run more", because statistically we have a VERY good ratio. Be specific. For me, I would like to see more play action. I can't recall seeing it a lot last season. I would also like to see our run/pass more heavy on the run side when we are trailing, as this is what I believe we do best. As of right now, when we were trailing, it was a 50/50. It obviously wasn't working for us, because every game we trailed, we lost (for what I can remember). Don't get me wrong, if we are manipulating them in the passing game, then keep on it, but you HAVE to keep the defense honest. This is something I don't believe we did much last year. We did against weaker opponents, but that isn't going to get us the national recognition that we all want.
  22. I think Collins has shown more on the field than Valentine, but Valentine is that NFL caliber DT. Both are studs and we are lucky they are here IMO.
  23. We will also have Bell at 100%. I just hope his ego doesn't get ahead of his playing ability. I hope to see Moore have a breakout season.
  24. I think his biggest issue was just getting thrown into the fire. Mentally he went into the season expecting at most 50-75 snaps. A few games in and he's the starter. Give the kid an entire year to prepare, knowing the spot is his and he's going to be a different player. Everyone will be on the same page. I don't put a lot of weight in Armstrong's performance last year. I think we'll see a huge improvement. Exactly! I also see TA making big strides. This year, the offense will be formed around him, rather than it being Taylor's offense. He will have all his reps with 1st team offense, which will also allow them to adapt to his voice, and HIS timing. Timing will improve by MILES with the WR's. All our WR's were in sync with Taylor's timing, and when you throw a new guy into the mix, who had a lot of reps with 2nd team, your going to see miscommunication (Like multiple times with Bell). A lot of variables were not in TA's favor, but this year there is no excuse. He will be practicing with 1st team, he had last year and all of Spring/Summer/Fall to adapt with his WR's. It all comes to how much Beck will trust him on changing plays at the line, and how well Beck calls his plays.
