  1. We had a ton more in state talent then than we do now. This year is a good year for Nebraska, however if we were a state like Missouri we wouldn't have to work as hard to recruit. I think we have a ton of talent on our roster and a lot of potential. I do believe that the kids we have on our roster have the POTENTIAL to be elite and get us to MNCs/Playoffs. There are about 60 kids from Neb. on the current team. That is a significant drop off. There was only 1 Nebraska recruit on the 2013 class list. Are we saying that there was only one kid in the state of Nebraska with enough talent and ability to play on the NU football team? Only one recruited for the 2012 team? Thee from the 2011 class? Four from the 2010 class? That is a total of 9 Nebraska kids in the last four years! I do not believe that the talent level has dropped off that much. dont live in nebraska so i dont have as good as info as a lot of people on here, but are there any other teams out there winning with nebraska recruits? i cant think of any and its not like any of the neighboring states are signing a lot of nebraska kids maybe a state of less than 2 million people just doesnt have as many recruits as states with much larger populations
  2. Disagree, they dont have a RB. I bet he starts week 1 I am not saying Rex will not get a chance to play, just that Cincinnati is a bad team. I also feel sorry for all the NU players in Detroit doomed to suffer on a bad team year after year. havent they made the playoffs 2 years in a row? not easy to do when you have to play the steelers and ravens 4 times a year. Here's hoping they win the super bowl with Rex as starting RB. hell yeah

  4. thats sounds like a lot of trick plays How about you do some more reading, and realize that I have already corrected myself. sorry just just trying to make a joke
  5. good for them, did nebraska ever get its AAU status back?
  6. Yes. Yes yes. My new favorite poster. More posting, less punctuation. Thanks. not sure less punctuation is possible but i'll try
  7. Dude, use some punctuation lol! I almost died with not being able to take a breathe reading that! Just for the sake of the old people on here, I edited in some punctuation. I left the spelling and capitalization alone didnt know grammer was so important on this board; should i also use MLA or APA format? Why state this towards just me? Its not like I am the only person who said something about your lack of punctuation. I wasn't saying anything about your "grammar". Just saving the people on here the massive headache trying to piece together what you were saying, let alone help them read it. sorry dude didnt mean to put you on the spot. i should have added one of those insert sarcasm things since i wasnt actually being serious.

  9. good article Pelini needs to keep doing what he's doing with the players in the classroom and off the field if the talent can get back up to the level it was at in 2009 and beck can keep the offense rolling then nebraska will be in very good shape there should be a huge jumo in talent in the front seven this year and the saftey position sure there will be some growing pains but the offense should be able to overcome those and by the end of the year i think we'll see a very good team out there on the field its nice to see a coach who knows there are more inportant things in life than the four years these kids will play football good coach even better person
  10. Damnit. Why don't you have anything worth a damn to contribute to this board???? haha good point i gave you a +1 no its not. I thought it was a fair question given the thread, even if its not true. some members on this board piss sunshine and whistle dixie and anybody who doesnt, isnt contributing to the board. everyones opinion contributes. There wasn't a good point or a fair question within your post. Just the Bo bashing Vibe. it wasnt meant to be taken seriously i just think its funny that fans get so defensive over a list i doubt bo cares about sorry for the anti bo vibes didnt mean it that way i'm actually a fan of his

  13. dammit why doesnt everyone else think our coach is as good as we do?
  14. maybe it has to do with the personel they had last year beside eric martin there wasnt a defensive lineman out there that was a good pass rusher, meredith was to slow Ankrah hasnt proven much either and after baker went down they didnt have anyone on the inside, the d-line sucked but besides burning redshirts i dont think being more agressive would have done much good with that group of guys
  15. dont get so worked up about an article that is just some crappy opinion piece that should be on bleacher report as soon as i read that andersen was number 5 but a guy like kill is 9 i stopped taking it seriously its just someones opinion just like all of ours is Bo the 7th best coach in the conference heck no but who cares what this guy wrote
  16. The front 7 weren't "that bad", but they weren't above average. I would even say some played below average (Rome). Last years massacre was simply because we lacked a HUGE amount of talent. We were too slow, couldn't make tackles in open space and we couldn't make the correct cuts to get a tackle. UCLA exposed us, and most teams took advantage of it. The only teams that were successful were the faster and more talented on offense than our defense. You can't magically make those guys tackle, or faster. Valentine would never have played last year, because he wasn't healthy, but I do believe Bo was thinking about burning McMullen's RS. Thankfully, its DT is not a difficult position to learn in Pelini's system, and the inexperience shouldn't cost us there. The inexperience I am worried about, is at Safety. I want to feel good that our DB's will be in position. LB crew, I feel good with them being in Santos' hands. Anderson didn't look lost either when he played last year, which is good as well. just seems like if utah state can keep it close nebraska should be able to hold wisconsin to less than 70 considering we beat them earlier i'm gonna take a guess and that some of those players out there didnt know what they were suppose to do either
  17. what changes if any did the coaching staff make on defense to compensate for the lack of talent? i'm not an X's and O's guys so i have no idea and am just asking but watching the UCLA, OSU, second wisconsin game and parts of the georgia game some of the defenders just looked out matched by the guys on the other team was the front 7 that bad or was there something the coaching staff could have done i have a hard time believing it was just a personnel problem when plenty of teams didnt give up 70 to wisconsin or 63 to OSU
  18. neither of their losses were as bad as the OSU and second wisconsin game Their loss to Baylor was far worse than our loss to OSU. i disagree but respect your opinion and get why you would believe that I believe it because A. Ohio State was a top-caliber team that went undefeated. Baylor was....Baylor. B. We were right in that game for 3 1/2 quarters. K-State was outmatched from the start. like i said i get why you believe that but watching Miller run circles around the "blackshirts" was terrible
  19. neither of their losses were as bad as the OSU and second wisconsin game Neb. vs. Ohio State 63-38 OSU total yards: 498 rushing yards: 371 yards per rush: 7.7 KSU vs. Baylor 52-24 Baylor total yards: 580 rushing yards: 342 yards per rush: 7 Obviously they didn't have anything as bad as Wis. but they only won one more game than Nebraska did last year, didn't have to play in a conference championship game and had a bad showing in a BCS bowl game but they're considered to be lightyears ahead of Nebraska? not sure who said that but they were better than nebraska last year and with a round robin schedule you dont really need a conference title game
  20. neither of their losses were as bad as the OSU and second wisconsin game Their loss to Baylor was far worse than our loss to OSU. i disagree but respect your opinion and get why you would believe that

  22. I fully expect to see a healthy rotation, and there's no way Kevin Williams is the 275 he's listed as. I'm willing to bet he's at least in the high 280s by now. I think Randle will start, and see a lot of time, if he's healthy. thats good to hear
