I used to be called tatanka by many, because of my size, I guess. I did not like that so much, as it refers to the bison. Then the movie “dances with wolves” came along and again, people in my circle started calling me this. I explained to them, I am no buffalo, in a raised voice, and they all laughed, and said you can’t even get mad right, your too nice to people. Then one of them said, we will call you Takoda, which means friend to all. It stuck and that is the end of it.

Great recommendation to those who have little skin in the game. I am sure the players are being told that too. How responsible us adults must be, to spew this type of B-sh*t (thread by thread by thread) where a bunch of kids, can scan the internet for anything mentioning Huskers, their name, fan response. Helping to reinforce doubt, by in large, is not the direction this team or fan base needs to go. But, its a new world we live in!

I did not say it wasn’t thread worthy for those who engage in betting, and in fact, as I mentioned, I was not trying to be insulting. Sorry, not trying to insult your post here drfish, and I know the reality behind what you are saying, but really, who gives two sh*ts about the line. Right now, imo, this team can’t look at goals that far out. They need to win the next play, before they can win the game. Before anyone jumps me for lowering my expectations and standards, recognize the hurdles this team needs to clear yet.

I will add, that getting up in front of the podium talking about leadership and buy in, does not necessarily translate to on field leadership. Personally, I would be fine if they closed it down “the player podium talk” and take care of the family business behind closed doors. Frost and his assistant coaches have a plan, and I believe it will come around. But the players, need to hold each other accountable on and off the field. The best teams, are the ones where the players lead, so the coaches can coach.

Wow, reading through this thread is frustraiting and some of it, down right pitiful. While I can understand some dissapointment in the results so far, some comments are simply _ _ _ _ ed up. Jeezus!

Ha, sorry Z, I don’t type very fast and see you commented similarly to what I just stated. This factor (no competition = no forced improvement) can be taken to the bank!

St Paul, let me add this tidbit. If the players behind the starters are not as engaged as need to be, so they can push the starters for thier position, why would the starters have to do more than what they already are? That is the best form of challenging your starters each and every week. If they have no reason to look over their shoulder, you will just get what you have, week in, week out!

St Paul, I will humbly say, it does matter, even if the athletes do not see any action. Every player needs to be engaged in the game, calls, flow, practice meetings, meals, classes, film room, learning why things work, or why things are happening the way they are, how to evaluate a mistake, so when they get thier chance, they already recognize situations. Maybe your comment is being misunderstood, here?

I put the Husker Tunnel walk, honoring the victims and emergency responders on status changes, for the obvious. But thought it would be something that should go here in the Politics section (Below). Hard to believe 17 years has passed since this sad day occurred.
