I take no pleasure in what happened tonight but it's clearly over. Let's get on the same page and root like crazy for the next guy.

In some ways I am relieved that it is obviously over. Didn't want it to be this way but a clean break is best.

We need more talent/depth if we want to compete for a NC, even consistently with the best from the East division. We do have enough talent to be getting better results. I don't think anyone is even complaining we aren't a NC contender. But losing to NIU, escaping vs Ark State and Rutgers. Getting beat at home by 21 by Wisconsin in year 3 is way below the bar. Really all 3 seasons have been pretty tough to watch on the whole.

I like Frost as a coaching candidate, a lot. Let's try to keep the comparisons to coaching legends to a minimum for now though.

Plenty of failed coaches have recruited well over the years.

I think the difference with Dantonio is he did make them better than they were those first two years. Even in year 3 they were better than where they were in 2006. So while there wasn't perfect linear progress there was overall progress. We got worse immediately under Riley and have trended downward. And he'll be 65 next season, how much time do we want to invest in a guy like that? A guy that may have 5 losing seasons in his last 8 years?

Mike needs to worry about his own butt making it through the season. If the Huskers get whacked 62-3 again he might not get through the bye week.

I can't imagine someone paying more than face for the current product. Even face is pushing it. The Ohio State game looks like a total mismatch and the NW game looks like two bad teams going at it.

Unfortunately yeah, after 2.5 years it looks grim for Mike bc of the terrible results. Unlikely to get better this Saturday either.

I haven't seen much as a college player, but he appears to be getting a little better and seems to have what the NFL wants in a QB arm wise. I'm still shocked Trevor Siemian is a starting NFL QB and CJ Beathard got drafted in the 3rd round.

If a deal was in the works to be our AD he wouldn't respond to some yahoo on Twitter refuting it. There was no need for him to reply.

That seems a bit dramatic. Mike and his staff struggled to win some players over but not 30+ of them. Sending a few players packing won't kill the program.

That's the job of the new coach, he needs to win the players over by getting them to respect him. If they don't get on board then they should be sent packing. Hardly a Nebraska only challenge, happens everywhere during a coaching change.

Fortunately the guy that made that decision has been let go.
