  1. These guys have losing down to an art form. how is it special teams is so terrible???
  2. agree with most of you. This suggests that "The Program" has officially tanked (we now are perennial bottom dwellers in AD and HCSF view is what this suggests). using the excuse $$ is the reason is BS. Everyone is hurting financially! This is cowardice in the face of OU whopping our collective butts. This is one of the few times since Pederson was in charge that I'm embarrassed for "The Program". Time to rethink Moos' job status. maybe even Scott's if he signed off on or was the instigator of cowarding away from OU. Face it, we're likely to take a beatdown at OU, but that pales in comparison to the looking like a bunch of pu$$ies.
  3. there will be a lot of kids losing out on an education. there are way more kids in transfer portal then spots available on college teams. many will go down a path their ego's didn't see coming.
  4. Think you're missing it.. Wan' Del is in Kentucky and Louisville is in Kentucky. so maybe this was the best he could do to be near Wan' Del? they we're pretty good friends at NU. I'm guess Kentucky wouldn't offer a scholarship or walk-on spot...
  5. With the exception of Stille, the rest of the defensive line is what freshman and sophomores with one Junior? they are going up against 5th year seniors for the most part. That unit is over-achieving now as they don't get pushed around much by the opposing offensive lines. sure i would love to see more sacks and hurry ups but the defense as a whole is the only reason were keeping these games close. Today, the offense was truly offensive and did very little to help their defense out. The D played fairly well most of the day and just didn't have one more stop in them at the end of the game. if i was grading then i would give the Defense a B or even a B+. now the crappy offense gets a D at best.
  6. I still say canning Frost is not a good idea, even through right now i am really pissed. Who would you bring in? who would even want the job? things could be a lot worse. we could be worse then Rutgers and Illinois... oh wait. they are both ranked higher then us.... my bad... Scott, no more excuses! everyone is dealing with Covid. Suck it up, put your big boy pants on and manage your darn team.
  7. Anyone else done with this offense and all the excuses? i can give them some of a break due to Covid but for #$&@ sake, Minnesota was missing 33 players and still beat us . We are clearly turnover U on offense. Between a center who still is off mark (saw 5 errant snaps, at least they were close enough for Adrien to grab) and McCafee who is quickly becoming the nation leader in interceptions with only a hand full of snaps played is embarrassing. This offense makes the same mistakes over and over and expects different results??? insane. At least we only have 8 games this year (not counting the canceled Wisky game) so we can only be a 2-6 team (which we are). Bring on the next team to turn a corner against NU. NU is here to help!!! we make everyone we play look like the 95 Huskers.
  8. Thought the Defense played fairly well. especially given the fact that they got little to no help from our offense. Turnovers again killed us, the right tackle got burnt like toast on more then one occasion. I know he is a redshirt freshman but its time to grow up some. either that or put a tight end over there to help him. in this game, the Defense just didn't have one more stop in them. they played well on the day, a few busts here and there so would give the Defense a B or even B+. now the offense was truly offensive and they get a D at best.
  9. hi All, I should had added links, for the first video, you ma7y have to scroll half way through presser as there was technical problems. These are after the Northwestern game. Scott is clearly hanging his head\\https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNXudIeP_Zw here is a player presser after same game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMzMaOP31-Y both are looking down at the table which I see as hanging their heads. now I agree, they are upset (as they should be) but hold your heads up.
  10. NU has way more talent on this team that Illinois has. yet again were let down by a horribly underachieving overly whiny head coach and poor decisions by him. by the end of Q2, Luke was not trusting his ability to throw the ball. for good reason, he has maybe a 80mph fast ball at best which in baseball terms is "batting practice" speed. Adrien has a better fastball and equally bad decisions making Luke had several receivers wide open and repeatedly through into double coverage. This team as a wide receiver (luke) and a running back (Adrien) playing QB. is it possible to get a real QB in Lincoln? no team on the rest of our schedule is going to respect this teams ability to pass. so they will load the box and stop the run. This team has a great deal of talent but poor coaching/development. hate to say this, but until we get a real QB who can actually read a defense and throw accuratly NU will stink up East NE every game. ok, rant off. time to find another hobby, maybe this team will be better next year or maybe 2022 or maybe never!!!!!
  11. Believe it or not, it is not so much the losing but how the head coach and team react afterwards. While am not a college (or high school) coach, i have coach for 22 seasons and i have watched, read and learned from really good coaches. Scott and his players are doing one thing that I would never allow any of my teams to do after a lose, no matter how poorly they played. It has a huge affect on team mentality. that one thing, is hang their heads.... I get being sad at a loss and playing fairly well but not well enough to win. Scott should not be hanging his head! he does that and every one of the player interviews afterwards the players were doing the same thing. in my opinion (humble) that breeds the "here we go again" mentality. I have seen this head hanging after Ohio State and again after Northwestern. They need to end that behavior asap. again, this is my experience and opinion. what is yours?
  12. Probably one of the best recruiters (and coaches) we have ever had at NU (and we have had some really good recruiters and coaches!). wish we could have kept him here and steered him away from the type of problems he had at NC under Butch Jones. Very sad day for sure with his passing! Rest in peach Coach!!
  13. true, per the CDC at least twice as many people died from Covid then Influenza in 2019-2020 flu season (high end estimate by CDC 62,000 deaths from influenza). https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/preliminary-in-season-estimates.htm
  14. this bug has the potential to decimate a population. I fear that it will get far worse before it gets any better (I would love to be wrong about that) as this bug is incredibly contagious.
  15. True, mumps and polio as well, but all are virus' that didn't mutate.
  16. ok, back on topic. I have been watching the Corona bug and I thought it would behave like many "Flu" like bugs but it appears I was wrong about that. I thought for sure we would have a full season (in early May) but now I am thinking that may not happen. This bug doesn't seem to be affected at all by warmer temps and I read that I has mutated some (that is really not good) to be more contagious. I am still hopefull we get a full season in but I am more along the lines of 50-50 at this point. Sad fact, how many mutating virus' has the medical community "cured"? Answer (not good) ZERO.
  17. I'm not taking that bet. Maurice is damaged goods. he may get a shot in the Mountain West or Conf USA. it wont be a power five school as nobody wants that headache.
  18. Guess I gotten to recruiting is pretty much everything frame of mind (ok, development is high on my list too). I don't want a so-so coach by any stretch. a chain is as good as its weakest link. I think DeWitt is a good coach, I don't think he was happy in Lincoln after he took the same job for same $$ somewhere else where I don't think it snows much (could be wrong on that one).
  19. lets not forget his getting busted for pot. dude was a run a-way train just waiting to wreck. I hope he matures a lot or the inside a of a cell may be his only future.
  20. Think at this point, I would settle for an average coach who is a tier one level recruiter. a good coach is a sub-par recruiter isn't what we need at this time.
  21. I see a "He's gone" tread but not a who is his replacement tread. so far I have heard Bill Bush and the D-line Coach that left us for NY as possible replacements. anything else?
  22. Probably wont happen, Frost wants to run the offense. Walthers works well in that structure, I don't see any changes there.
  23. Bush was the best recruiter on Callahan's staff but primarily worked the southwest. Oh Snap! does me reminding everyone that Bush was part of Callies staff doom his chances?? lol
