  1. This is the way of the world when it comes to boosters. I don't know of too many folks who are willing to part with millions of dollars and not want to get some kind of quid pro quo out of it. Agree 100% on Morgan. I remember swearing audibly when I saw him rolling around.
  2. Agreed. Hence the family reasons disclaimer. Utah has to just about be a dream job for him.
  3. I'm not sure if you could get him to leave due to family reasons but kicking the tires on Kyle Whittingham from Utah is worth a shot. I've always enjoyed their brand of football. Edit...hmmm he's 57, that might be tricky.
  4. I'm seeing a lot -14 out there right now. I'm hoping for a big total above 56 so I can take the unders. Rutgers has Jerry Kill @ OC and he'll be grinding the clock like crazy.
  5. Well, if nothing else HB has taught me that we're gluttons for punishment. That means Nebraska is going 3-0 over these next 3 games to completely sucker us in followed by a close but quasi inspiring loss against Ohio State. Of course that is followed by Purdue beating Nebraska by 21+.
  6. Watching Nebraska's offense is like watching my buddies when they coach their kids' football teams. They end up putting together these super cute formations and play calls that don't take into account the talent (or lack thereof) they actually have on their teams. They'd be better off drawing up like 6 plays and drilling them relentlessly so they can do them in their sleep. It's like Langsdorf gets hypnotized into trying to prove how smart he is versus dumbing it down and just getting it done.
  7. Nebraska's win total going into the season was 6.5/7 before it got bet up and Vegas doesn't usually miss the mark too often when it comes to win totals. I'm disappointed that Nebraska is playing poorly but I can't say that I'm really that surprised. I do feel badly for some of my friends that really swung for the fences and bet some pretty big bucks on Nebraska exceeding their win total. They're going to be sweating these remaining games pretty hard.
  8. Don't forget about Matt Canada too. Dude is a legit OC.
  9. I suggested hiring Big Bert before he left for Arkansas. I was ridiculed even though his offensive style would dovetail nicely with what a lot of folks are clamoring for. His teams play with edge and he has a dickish quality to him that I think you need to succeed at the highest level. Plus, his wife is a total smokeshow. To stay remotely on topic, if/when Cav is let go, Nebraska needs to kick the tires on San Diego State's OL coach. SDSU has been cranking out rushing yards like nobody's business since this dude took over. They played a slobberknocker against Stanford (and won) on Saturday that was a ton of fun to watch. http://www.goaztecs.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/mike_schmidt_185321.html For morale...
  10. Well, with his new deal he's making $8.125 mm/yr with incentive bonuses. As I said, you're a little light.

    Option

Now, the question I ask is, in your honest opinion, could Nebraska's fans handle a move back to the option if it meant they would also never be nationally relevant again? I don't think I need to point out GT's record that year.

    Option

Oh dang, good call. I totally forgot about that game. +1 to you sir.
  13. You're a little light homey. Saban signed a deal that will pay him $65mm over 8 years plus incentive bonuses. He also got a $4mm signing bonus and will make a little over $11mm this year. Honestly you'd probably need to throw a $100mm deal at Saban for him to even take the phone call. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/sec/2017/05/02/nick-saban-alabama-contract-extension/101191514/

    Option

Let us know the last time a team that ran a triple option did anything on consequence on a semi national level. I'll help you out, it was GT 7 years ago in the Orange Bowl. You know who they lost to? Iowa. Iowa beats Nebraska as is, don't see why we need the triple option to do it.

    Chip Kelly

I'd love to see Kelly here too. That being said, I agree with you. Dude has always marched to the beat of his own drum. Kelly would be more likely to be the coach at UNK before UNL.

    Pete Carroll says hi.
  17. What happened, I thought OP was a sunshine pumper yesterday after the game, what happened? Oooh, I know....it's a heel turn!!!!
  18. This is a good point chamrocck and usually I would agree with you. In the case of Bookie and Parsons though, those guys are most likely going to play regardless of where they go. Just for the sake of argument, after watching Clemson absolutely manhandle UL last night, if I were a big time defensive recruit, it would be hard to tell that place 'no'. Absolutely, these guys want to play early and often, you have to think they want to be able to sniff championships if we don't have another angle to pull them in like location, relative was an alumni, unbelievable NFL pipeline or something to that effect.
  19. Oh I'm covered VV. I try to keep at least 2 bottles of vodka in the freezer at all times. You never know when you'll need to crack them out!
  20. The contract extension was extended at the early part of 2017. Riley just signed it in early August.
  21. That would be cool in a night game scenario if they did it right before the tunnel walk although I'm not sure how that would work with the big stadium lights as I have no idea how long they take to power up. One would think the basketball teams might be able to adopt this. I know the Chicago Bulls did some cool stuff when doing team intros but I can't remember if they added a red hue at all.
