  1. Even more size gone..... Anyway they were guys that I think were passionate and wanted Nebraska to do well in bball. I thought trueblood was going to be that Nebraska kid that really cared about the program and wanted to push others as a walk on. I wish both of them nothing but the best in their future and hopefully they will succeed in wherever life takes them next.
  2. Now Miles recruiting pitch can literally be come in to play center with no competition. If we don't land jordy we are going to be scrambling for size, but if we get him we will probably still look for a big man who can be a grad transfer to help in with inside presence. It wouldn't be impossible to play without a big man this year but basically if we want to win we need a big man.
  3. Time to go get some big boys Tim, or it might be a long season next year.
  4. Totally just guessing here but I wonder if the ones were turning away could be Pickett or Maurice Bell. Those seem to be the most likely ones.My guesses as well. Schaefer stated later that he's our top small/speed WR target. Still have big bodies high on list. So the two we have - who are both roughly average height-wise - one small burner and (hopfully) one big target. Yup, then probably make room if a stud wanted in later. So, Jamire, Bynum and a big target is who we take for wrs, or is Bynum considered the big target?
  5. Not sure if this guy is interested but a center from Ohio state is apparently transferring to a different school. I cant figure out how to get the link on here but ill give a quick synopsis of what I know. Again not sure if he is interested in Nebraska but we'll see He is 6'10 230 pounds Averaged 3.8 points and 3.6 boards and 1.5 blocks per game He is a freshman and he is from Georgia. http://nebraska.247sports.com/Bolt/BREAKING-Giddens-reportedly-leaving-Ohio-State-44522517 here is the link I am not sure if it works, and after reading it again he just wants to be released from the school but I am pretty sure he wants to play elsewhere
  6. Is there a way to shut down the poll when a kid commits? Just wondering because shutting down the poll could be a way to prevent this.
  7. I'm not sure our secondary improved much as the year went on, as much as we simply started playing teams that were incapable of taking advantage. Iowa was never going to light us up through the air. I would argue that UCLA had plenty of success throwing the ball, our offense simply did a good job of keeping Rosen & Co. off the field. I do agree that the pass defense should improve, there's simply nowhere to go but up. I'm uncertain if the improvement will be enough, however, to really think they've turned some kind of corner. Hopefully I'm wrong. Nat'l Final ranking MSU 24-39-1 348 6th Rutgers 14-28-2 170 NR Iowa 9-16-0 97 9th UCLA 26-41-2 319 NR Total 73-124-5 934 Yards Compared to: BYU 28-46-1 379 NR USA 26-45-1 313 NR Miami 25-42-1 379 NR USM 26-42-0 447 NR Total 105-175-3 1,518 Yards Not sure how you can say we didn't improve. Nice job finding the stats +1. If our pass Defense could be about top 70 that would be a big improvement. Throw in the fact that Parella will get his D-line hungry to get sacks and that will help out the DBs tremendously. If the D-line can punish when the offensive lineman in the game that would help tremendously. It would also make the HB stay and be a blocker on passing situations which means its 7 on 4 in the back end, if we use our mlb as a spy for the qb. Basically, my point is if the D-line improves, the DBs will improve also and I think we will get more sacks/hurries on the qb this year after underachieving last year.
  8. I hope he makes one during the Nebraska Spring game but the late signing period for bball is some time in late April I believe. I haven't heard anything from him about a decision, he hasn't said anything publicly.
  9. I think with the ACC doing really well in the tourney and Boston College, our main competition, not winning one game in the loaded ACC might give us a slight edge for us. We also have no competition for him to come in and start right away, hopefully we can land him because he would most likely start/ get lots of playing time immediately. Kenya Hunter is our main recruiter for him, so I think he will be able to close on him hopefully with the East Coast ties.
  10. Or Gebbia commits to us and then decides to take a visit to Oxford after like Stringafellow....... Except he already visited Ole Cheater U and hes !
  11. Terrell Bynum has an averystrong hastag on his twitter Bio, I am not sure if that gives us an edge or he is supporting Avery because he inspires him. If he comes here our receiving core for this class will be really good, add in a couple good QBs(Coan or Gebbia) with POB and we will have a dynamic offense coupled with two solid RBs and this offense could be extremely hard to defend.
  12. Don't rule out Jordy Tshimanga just yet, but I believe he is a Boston College lean, our advantage here is they are terrible compared to us. Or else it is wait and see after the tourney and maybe some big will want to transfer, because without a big this next year we wont be making the NCAA tournament. The transfers I remember off the top of my head: Gorjak Gok 6-11 kid okie lite, has not said he will transfer but coach ford was fired, Addonnis De la Rosa if we can sway him from Kent State he is a 7 footer and would be a freshman. Also a 6-9 kid Robinson Idehen from California I believe and I do not know what he is rated by the services. Verbal commits says we are in on 5 star Marques Bolden but he is a long shot and it would be a miracle if he came here. Those are the bigs that I know of that Nebraska is after. Edit: Gorjak Gak is a freshman so he would be in the class of 2016
  13. Spurs win and give the warriors only their 7th loss of the season

  14. Northern Iowa, hats off to them for beating Texas in the best way possible, a half court buzzer beater shot for the win. That shot looked good when I was watching it and I couldn't believe he made it. There is more madness to come and I am hoping a mid major makes it to the final four this year to show the parody of college bball. Regardless, the tournament just keeps getting crazier and crazier every year.
  15. If we dont get jordy Tshimanga it will be a long offseason, unless we somehow get a grad transfer. We dont have enough bigs to get a guy to sit one year we need bigs now so hopefully we get Jordy because I want to see a Center develop for four years and not come here for one or two.
  16. Bryant won't be playing. Ahh, my bad thanks for telling me, forgot he wasn't on campus yet. I will add another walk-on in Bryants place, since nabity is FB we will insert Austin Rose for Tre Bryant, this is all my prediction so idk the actual lineups
  17. CBI bound or no tournament at all I think is the only option for this team, maybe another tourney I am missing cause NIT is out of the picture so is NCAA barring a miraculous B1G tourney where we win it all. Lets see how we do against CBI competition.
  18. Depth Chart for Spring game: Red Newby Ozigbo Bryant White Wilbon Taylor Nelson I think Ozigbo and Newby split carries in the spring game Wilbon gets to start for the white team and we can see what he can do vs the first team defense
  19. The inability to get stops cost us this game, especially in the second half when we cut the deficit to 6 at half.
  20. That play was trending on twitter, facebook and it also made the not top ten on ESPN I believe. Slapping the floor is a thing to do before the other team crosses half-court, not when a player is three or four feet from the three point line lol.
  21. If we start becoming more relevant, I think Nike would want us, right now they probably don't have any reason to be our brand. I would think if we dropped adidas, Under Armour would be the brand that we go to. I just have a feeling Nike wouldn't want to give us much for some reason. Now, if Suh and others can get them on board, then Yes I will definitely take it, I am just optimistic if Nike has a tone of interest. I don't know much about the branding stuff, but that's my take on it.
  22. /shrug. I think this is a fair analysis, and a little surprised that the negative response was so loud that something like this was needed. I'm also a little surprised by how much anti-Catholic hostility there seems to be, but far be it from me to jump through hoops defending an institution whose idea of radical new-age progressivism is making infrequent, extremely narrow allowances for the use of contraception. Not at all actually, their teaching was written in the 60s and still stands today. Not sure the Popes direct quote but I know he said abortion is "an absolute evil." What the Pope was referring to was that women should do their best to not get pregnant in Latin American countries that have this virus. So that does not make allowances for the use of contraception, the media is trying to make it sound like when the Pope says something out of context, they say the whole Church's viewpoint has changed, which is false. Back to Trump vs pope: on thurday Trump called the Pope a great guy, he blamed the media for acting like the Pope called him out. Trump put that stuff to the side, which he isn't known for doing, but he did it so props to him. The Pope in my eyes wasn't given the full story, also media today confuses stories like this one, I think they made the Popes comment sound much harsher then what was intended.
  23. Schumer said they should if the situation arose, but no Justices retired or died that year. Also, Schumer was and is an idiot. People seem to be forgetting this key fact of why Democrats blocked his nomination in 2007. Hell, many of the Republicans were holding their nose to vote party line for him then. Otherwise, both parties have a history of both appointing Justices in their final presidential years via both recess appointment and approval via the Senate. Didn't know if anyone was appointed that year so thx knapp. Its still a little strange how they didn't do an autopsy on Scalia, especially if he had a pillow over his head? The judge in the Texas district maybe was wanting to respect his body for his family, but still it seems fishy. Obama will probably appoint the next one, but the senate is majority republican, so it will depend who he appoints. If it is a moderate justice they will vote them in most likely. If it is a liberal person, no way that the repubs would allow them to take the last spot. If Obama chose a republican person, that would shock probably everyone and they would get in. All votes now can have a 4-4 tie between justices, I would like to see if we have a deadlock like that happen. If that happens I believe the lower court( State court?) chooses what happens in the case.
  24. The team looked young in the second half, allowing a big Indiana run. Indiana is really good so on to the next one. This team is probably NIT bound but they need a minimum of three wins over the course of the regular season.
