  1. It worked for Amukumara and Hagg. Burkes might have been a good one as well, unfortunate health issue got in the way
  2. Well if he knows who the next coach is at USC. Clay Helton is a dead man walking. He's done after 2019 IMO.
  3. If you are willing to take the risk that it cheapens the regular season. It has certainly done that in NCAA basketball. IMO, 8 teams is enough.
  4. Tired argument and reeks of cowardice on their part. If the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and a host of others don't have a problem with it, nobody else should either.
  5. A Pappadeaux and a Pappasito's next to the river where Rick's Boatyard used to be might be the panacea needed for the Omaha riverfront. Never a bad meal there. I think the location in Marietta, GA probably prints money as it is always packed. I always stop at the Pappadeaux on the way from Denver to Colorado Springs.
  6. They bring part of the Atlanta market but UGA is far more popular in the A.
  7. Yes, I think you are correct, along with North Carolina, southern recruiting territory, good academics, and a part of the ATL TV market with GT
  8. That offense is Dan Enos's offense. Bama's offense already migrated from an ancient pro-set to a modern multi-faceted offense under Lane Kiffin prior. Locksley was a trash fire in Albuquerque as coach.
  9. Bowls will fight tooth and nail against any campus games. NCAA and the universities have no obligation to listen to them or worrying about supporting southern tourism.
  10. I don't think the SEC matters as much as the Bowl Director Cartel. Once everyone sees how much better of a game it is for fans to have it at the campus of the higher seed instead of some antiseptic NFL stadium, they will have to ratchet up the propaganda to keep the semi-finals in a Bowl.
  11. Gerhart was also better and more deserving than Ingram that year. The award became "Alabama is such a good football program over the years and doesn't have a Heisman award winner, we need to give them one" in '09. Jason White over Larry Fitzgerald in '03 was terrible. Christian McCaffrey and Deshaun Watson were better than Derrick Henry in '15. I could probably also make a case for Rex Grossman over Eric Crouch too. I think they discriminated against Rex because he was a sophomore. Good thing that award doesn't mean a damn thing to me anymore.
  12. I'd prefer Kansas and Texas. I really don't care about the old Oklahoma rivalry anymore. They chose to tether to Texas and Oklahoma adds nothing for recruiting territory in a league that needs new recruiting areas. I'd like a close Lawrence, KS campus to drive to and see KU basketball in a better league too. Maybe the Big Ten sees that UT and OU are joined at the hip and wants the OKC market too? Texas joining the SEC is as about as remote as BYU becoming part of the Pac-12. Next to zero and it's not just the Longhorn Network. SEC is not strong academically and that's important to UT-Austin. I think they would only consider the Pac-12 and Big Ten for that reason. Same reason Texas Tech or Oklahoma State has about next to no chance of joining the Pac-12 either, as a stand alone university not good enough academic schools. If this happens, to me this is extra pressure on Scott Frost to get Nebraska back as an elite program before then. Having Wisconsin and Iowa to beat to get to a title game is one thing, Oklahoma and Texas most years with their resources should be even more difficult. However, until I see someone like Frank The Tank start talking about this latest round of realignment, I'm still looking at it as someone throwing stuff against the wall for attention.
  13. Lots of chatter on this all the time by sports pundits, some on the Pac-12 South, but next to none on the worst of them all, the ACC Coastal. I even tried to engage with a few of them and other than the always excellent, Dave Bartoo, they just ignore it. Clemson must be the big orange sun that blinds everyone from looking further at how underwhelming the ACC is this year. ACC Coastal is consistently terrible. Coastal champ Pitt lost to 2-win North Carolina for crying out loud and Virginia lost to Indiana. It would be helpful if Nebraska can help bookend the West with Wisconsin but I have a hard time seeing the West as an abomination. Heck, the SEC East was a trash fire for awhile until UGA elevated their game.
  14. Too close to Kansas State and that weirdo Power Cat for my taste........
  15. Now on the #2 seed line....and an 18% chance of making the Final 4......I think I'm dizzy and need to sit down for awhile
  16. Well when the CWS promos show a bunch of cornfields it's hard.....don't see too many cornfields in Omaha but evidently ESPN must have found some.
  17. No, maybe the sarcasm font is missing but Nebraska is at the bottom because the overall record is the worst of the three
  18. I hope he gets the record. Class act and talented WR from a great family who has seen a lot of turmoil in the program in his four years but has never wavered in his support. I wish he had another year in the program but if he ends up a New Orleans Saint I will be happy.
  19. Unfortunately Joe Bauserman is out of eligibility. I'd like the chances a lot better with him subbing in for Haskins.
  20. Kentucky is still a basketball school and always will be first. Stoops has done a great job at one of the bottom rung SEC jobs and credit to the administration for sticking with him . That said the chances for long term Kentucky football success are not great. I can understand a kid wanting to play closer to home though. Kids don't usually choose Duke, Kansas, or Indiana for football though, much like UK. Good luck to him blazing his own trail!
  21. If only the schedule was Illinois, UTEP, Rutgers, and UConn as the remaining games I'd be fired up to play the Buffalo Bulls in the Quick Lane Bowl.
  22. You don't even have to look that far. McNeese State in '14 where Ameer saved the day from massive embarassment.
  23. Kansas and Kansas State already played in this one in the mid-late '80s Word to Stan Parrish and Bob Valesente
