  1. Yes, the same Illinois team that lost to Minnesota 40-17. This team has lots of issues and that may yet again creep up on us this Saturday.
  2. I thought the same exact thing after the Northern Illinois game. Then Illinois happened. Then Ohio State.
  3. I agree. He's deceptively fast when he runs the ball. He also appears to be a "quick blinker" and went through his reads pretty fast against NW. Given the situation he was put in, it was pretty impressive. I'll remain cautiously optimistic until after the Minnesota game. I think Martinez is just a more electric/dynamic athlete. There is no denying that. I think he's got some mental struggles going on. I don't think he trusts his offensive line and Jurgens very much. Everything just seems out of sync on offense. It's apparent that he's not on the same page as his receivers either. People forget, Adrian is still just a true sophomore. I'm not ready to give up on him. I think it's premature at this point. SF knows a thing or two about adversity as QB1. I don't see a controversy here. I see a backup QB being asked to do his job by stepping up for an injured starter.
  4. Those guys had a lot of experience for sure. And they were solid. Our guys now just need more time to develop and gain experience. They're learning to win. They're only going to get better.
  5. I think people have to relax regarding Noah Vedral. If he gets to play the entire game against Minnesota, then we can start to draw comparisons with Martinez once that game is over. I want to see how Vedral handles 4 quarters of football before I call him the second coming of Joe Ganz, lol.
  6. Again -- your opinion, keyboard warrior.
  7. Moral victories are your bar? Mine are championships. We have a huge difference of opinion and that's just fine.
  8. Yup! Two more games and we're bowling. There's a loooot of football to be played and a lot still at stake.
  9. Damn coach Frost for winning that game!!!
  10. Excluding #1, we don't have good enough receivers to get down field for a YOLO bomb at this point, lol. I'm just happy for the W today.
  11. A little ironic. I think Taylor Martinez got hurt either before or during the MN game in 2013 and Tommie Armstrong took over.
  12. I agree. I mean, Tommie Frazier was a backup too. Gotta start somewhere.
  13. I thought he was a safety converted to kicker?
  14. Yep just like he did against Derrick Mills from the I-Formation. Young is a freak athlete.
  15. I think SF should just stare down guys who f#&% up during games. Worked for TO.
  16. It's been 20 years since we won anything meaningful. I think people have earned the right to be pissed off.
  17. Yeah, sure swap unis so they can sell ours and make a profit.
  18. Because the only direction you would be able to roll him out is left, away from Chase Young, haha.
  19. Win the turnover battle or don't turn it over Defense has to win 3rd downs Field position is key, shorter field = better chance of winning With all that said, I think Northwestern is really bad. We're just not as bad as they are. 38-13 Nebraska.
  20. Maybe it's because we've sucked for two decades.
  21. You don't become perfect by chance you do it by honing in and beating your craft over and over and over. It is constantly working hard at something repeatedly. Running formations under center to me, sounds like we're throwing stuff at a wall hoping it'll stick. We may run the ball more than we pass but, it isn't very effective. I continue to ask myself, "Are we a smash mouth team or an Air Raid? Multiple? What?" I think that the more they continue not to find their identity, the more we'll struggle on offense.
  22. This would be a great move. We still haven't really seen the triple option out of a spread formation which was something Frost ran at UCF quite successfully. They caught defenses off guard and usually became explosive runs. I'd love to see it at DONU however, I think our OL really holds us back.
