  1. Hope Collins all the best. So if you're an NFL GM for your team which round are you looking to pick him up in? I'm thinking between 3-4
  2. Illinois' and Purdue's coaches say hello. What else did they say? yup 1-0 is good number to go off of PS your boy Bo was 0-2 against Mora
  3. Might depend on his pro day. He could be a a good free agent pick up after the draft.Glad he had a decent showing at the end of his career...he stayed with it and proved his loyalty to the Huskers! Cross's future in the NFL will depend if he can play on special teams. Backup RB's and the last guys on the roster have to be able to contribute on special teams. I don't know if he has done much special teams coverage at NU, but he will need to do that in the NFL to make a squad. If Rex is struggling to stay on a roster it'll be hard to believe Cross will.....I hope the best for him
  4. Honestly, I'm ok with either one of those ratios as long as we're winning. Give it some time and I think some of those 7 losses become wins sooner rather than later. I should hope Purdue isn't ever a loss again. But that said, will people be content with 3 to 4 losses a season? All of the BOlievers were apparently content with it. Had a conversation with one of the relatives tonight who still wishes we had Bo. I asked him why, and the response was well the team never gave up on him. My response was the big ten title game vs Wisky or last year vs Wisky. He merely said that it wasn't bad coaching that it was just superior players. Once again I asked how could a walk on from GI be the back up QB for this team. His response well that's not the coaches fault. I find myself having conversations with people like this more often then I'd like to. Not sure if they will ever get it.
  5. Yeah, watching the announcers pull up replays of him getting manhandled by Clark were fun, pencil him in as the starter...Ya, just amazing that a 320 lb second round NFL draft pick was dominating a college C with very little experience. Terrible. Smh. That's day in, day-out in the B1G though. The B1G has 2-3 FIRST round DLine picks projected this April. If that's the talent level we put out on the field, you'll continue to see them man-handled by bigger, stronger competition. No offense to Thurston, just what we saw plain as day when he was on the field. Agreed
  6. Agree with everything on the list except for Utter. Watched him get blown up/not block anyone all year long. Very doubtful he'll be a starter Utter is also being mentioned at the center spot next year. Hopefully there are some young guards able to come in and start ahead of Utter next year. Between Barnett and Farmer I'm thinking either of those guys would work

  8. Can't even be happy for a couple hours after a win? You should most likely find something else to like....maybe karaoke or something
  9. Didn't you hear? Our staff is incapable of getting any kind of recruit. We should just shut down and go to 2019 recruits This is the kind of weak sarcasm I've been reading since last December when Mike Riley was hired. Kinda funny how that turned out, no? Still have a month to go. Lets look at what we have in place. The QB of the future A good looking RB Two good looking WRs in Grimm and Spielman One of the best Lineman in the country in Raridon and a good looking one in Brokop (I'm going to mark Farniok N too) I really like the look of Simmons and Domann whether we can hold on to Alexander is another point And a good looking safety in might be Dismuke who will be our in with the Calabasas crew This is a pretty good core I would say and just have to do some building around these guys and can turn out to be a pretty good class. It's funny because you didn't see anyone complaining last year when MR and staff came in and held last years class together and was able to add Barnett, Alston, Snyder, and Young. Not to mention getting a very talented Jordan Stevenson who Alabama also wanted. This is the same post we see every recruiting cycle. The class has a few pieces, but not enough to complete the puzzle. Well as this is their first full cycle I'm inclined to let them finish before I judge it
  10. It would at least make this board bearable. I'm sure some people on the board would still find something to complain about even if we won 178-0
  11. I totally agree and that's why I'm going to wait until signing day before I call for the lynch mob.
  12. So you believe Bret Bielema over Shawn Eichorst? Okay. Suit yourself. And do you know what lying means? Him speaking about Riley during the season isn't lying. The guy is allowed to change his mind on things. Whether we agree it was a good move or not. It doesn't make it a lie. The second link in that google search features Perlman laughing about the Bielema rumor, giving the best explanation of why we never contacted him about the job: "To all you doubters. You don't hire a coach (Bielema) who just moved a year ago. If he came could you be confident he'd stay? YOLO" I thought we put this Bielema thing to bed a long time ago. Now that's become "true" again because of a message board argument? Yikes. What's next, "county scholarships" coming back for another go-round? Funny how Harvey got the memo about hiring coaches who just moved a year ago, but missed the one on firing 9 win coaches. Not to mention that Harvey is a lawyer, so it's easy to tell when he's lying. Just look for lip movement. Funny how Harvey was smart enough to get rid of the guy who would have a meltdown on national TV anytime we played in a big game.

  15. The UCLA QB has been a turnover machine the last few games, and this may be the only time we ever play a team that averages more penalties than us! We could win an ugly game. Always will have a decent shot going against a freshman QB
  16. Well gee I wonder who brought these players in #blame-bo-derailment #doing-the-same-thing-you-did
  17. Well gee I wonder who brought these players in
  18. Of course, that's got to be it. Chuck Norris described himself as being un-athletic and on top of that, he broke his shoulder during his first two weeks of marital arts training. Yet he retired as undefeated Middleweight Full Contact Karate champion. Do you think that was because of some "revealed talent" or because he practiced for five hours every day? So.... You are honestly...with a straight face....telling me that if I had only worked harder when I was younger I could have been as good as Irving Fryer as a WR or Mike Rozier as a RB or Turner Gill as a QB...Or...if I so choose, I could have been the next Dave Rimington. All I was missing is the hard work they obviously put in. Ben Hogan always said that anyone that didn't have some sort of physical disabilty could learn to shoot scratch golf. I agree with him. But most people aren't willing to put in the amount of effort required, mostly because there are no guarantees. So in principle, I agree with Bowfin. Obviously you haven't played golf before
  19. Anyone who doesn't think it's about Jimmy and Joe's are crazy. Look at Ameer for example, prolly won 3 games by himself last year. If he was on this team they might have only lost 1-2 games.
  20. Not sure if anyone posted it yet or not but Walter football didn't even have him in the first 3 rounds? I looked twice maybe I missed him somewhere http://walterfootball.com/draft2016.php
  21. And one of the guys responsible for those recruits is no longer coaching because of scandals with an agent. He was also being investigated for possible recruiting violations at 2 different schools. I do agree that we can get top talent to commit but it wont be at the rate of other schools that are in the middle of recruiting hotbeds. I think the 2017 class has the potential to be a once in a decade type of class for us. Lots and lots of potential. I've always said that one of the greatest threats or maybe the greatest threat to our program is the mindset... that starts at the very top and has filtered down to some fans... is the mindset that ASSUMES FAILURE. It's not a mindset about what I stated, it's just pure fact. Teams that are in the middle of or in close proximity to recruiting hotbeds will almost always have better recruiting classes year in and year out over a team that is distant from one. No it's not a fact... it's an excuse. You honestly don't pay attention to recruiting. The top states for recruiting are California, Florida, Texas, Ohio, and Georgia. The Northeast and East Coast produce lots of talents also. Take a look at these classes and tell me that proximity doesn't play a roll. https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/teamrank/2010/all/all https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/teamrank/2011/all/all https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/teamrank/2012/all/all https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/teamrank/2013/all/all https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/teamrank/2014/all/all https://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/football/recruiting/teamrank/2015/all/all Alabama's current recruiting class highest rated recruits 4**** and 5***** players: 1-NY... 1-MISS... 1-MD... 1-NC... 2-TX... 1-CA... 1-VA... 2-AL That means that 80% of Alabama's top recruits are from somewhere other than Alabama and in fact they are from all over the country. Their top recruit is from California. Great coaching and great recruiting is the key... not where the team is located. If you have great coaches the players will come... from all over the country. No more excuses. They have been the best team and recruiting power for the last 5-8 years. Not a good comparison at all. It's much easier to recruit to nice weather and with higher population densities nearby. We have Kansas City and that's about it, maybe Denver. Another person who has bought into the lame excuses. Callahan proved in 2005, and Alabama's class this year proves that what you say is just not true. Great players want to play for great coaches. They will travel or move to wherever that great coach is at. Alabama's best player this year is from California. That alone proves your comment about better weather or higher population to be patently false and it's always been false. It is no more difficult to recruit to Nebraska than any other school. The whole "Nebraska is hard to recruit to" excuse thing is just that... an excuse used by those who want to escape responsibility for their own recruiting failures. Learn to think for yourself. And another thing. You say Alabama is the best team and best recruiting power. Why cant we be the best team? Instead you make the worst mistake... you assume failure and make excuses for it. Not me. Alabama had 7 kids from their home state last year? Not sure what your point is?
  22. Not saying that. My question is what is it (or isn't it) about this particular athlete that has so many Div 1 coaches uninterested? Plays in the largest classification; is in a position of need; seems to have the size and athletic ability; Set loads of season and career records. ????? There has been plenty of QBs that have come through and broken records in high school. Silas Fluellen for example and he ended up going to Wayne and was a nice player at the division II level. He even had a brother that played for NU, it's just how it goes. I'm not questioning that. And not arguing about past misses or other "not interested" offers. I'm just wondering (from anyone who has seen him play) to speculate on what specific set of limitations or skills make him flawed as a Div 1 QB? If Wyoming or Ohio hasn't offered yet then that should tell you all you need to know
