  1. They're working class neighborhoods. A lot of college students live there too. Not really bad neighborhoods. Although there probly is some crime, just like in any working class neighborhood. cool. i supected that much. no biggie. thnx for the reply.
  2. You might buy tickets to a Husker game next summer-ish, you mean? i meant a small house. i'll probably spend a little bit of time in lincoln next summer. check the place out. hopefully i'll be working from home by then so looking for a little something to live in. nothing big, not saying i'd settle there, but always have a place to stay during football season. an alternative to buying a 1br broomcloset diguised as a condo, lol.
  3. so all those cheap houses east of campus aren't in bad neighborhoods? i don't mind a remodel, but the crime around an area is important. i might buy something next summerish, obviously want to check the town and gameday atmosphere out for a bit first. just wondering. thnx for the replys.
  4. i was just wondering about this topic. thnx.
  5. i was wondering why valentine signed with uab. they aren't even fielding a team til 2017. he would be perfect as a DT for the huskers. i hate that he didn't pan out at lsu, we could use him right now. what's it like at a school that has a tough time recruiting top flight DTs. running a 34, 33 stack or anything that resembles a 50 type defense seems like a necessity. i think having a good DC at a school that doesn't recruit monsters for DTs every year is much more important than having one at schools who recruit them on an annual basis. that's why i think yall need a new DC so badly. not much room for schematic error when scheming around things. it's nice to play man, have a dline that can rush by itself and hold ground for LBers, but i've always been impressed by DCs that make up for talent gaps. i can't believe no one snatched up durkin from uf before harbaugh did. they don't have to scheme around everything at uf, but the defense he ran is built for it.
  6. i've never been to a nebraska game or lincoln for that matter. is it a safe city to walk to and from a game? 30 min walk in either direction, etc. i hate dealing with gameday parking, i'd rather walk. i assume it is because walking a bit to and from an lsu game isn't too bad (well, not all areas).
  7. Judging from the video, it appears as though First Amendment rights are being scoffed at for the sake of "humanity!!!1!1!". Additionally, mob intimidation tactics, assault, and abject waste of state resources are definitely in play here. yeah, that whole mizzou situation is a complete joke. too bad it isn't that funny. racism is like anything else in today's media driven society, it's an opportunity for exposure and dollars. a lot of young people allow peer pressure to dictate their beliefs in pretty much anything without understanding any of it. hell, a lot pf people in general i guess.
  8. IF Langsdorff can figure out to run the football ,and utilize our stable of RBs, I am fine with him. He is actually a good QB coach, he just needs a real QB at the helm ,and I think that is what we are all hoping for with O'Brien. You look at his track record at Oregon State and he did a decent job. He had multiple QBs with NFL talent there and also Oregon State had utilized the run with some decent RBs. I have hope for Langs, and will give him another year with Riley. Banker on the other hand needs to be replaced. I understand the long relationship with him and Riley, and I doubt Riley fires him, so I wouldn't be surprised if Riley just gives him a position job, like D-Line. Go out there and hire Orgeron. That's just it. We have moments like last night or the Minny game where it seems like Langsdorf 'gets it', and then we have an Illinois, or Purdue on our hands. And I agree with what you say about Banker and Ogeron. Kinda shocked that Riley didn't tap him sooner when he was offering on Twitter to come to Lincoln--I think a lot of folks could have weathered this season better knowing there was, say, a Top 15 recruiting class waiting in the wings. And Orgeron would've been guaranteed to bring in a Top 15 class? he's a beast at recruiting. whatever nebraska ends up this year, you could add several spots up with orgeron.
  9. If we have to start calling Iowa a top 5 team my head will explode. Don't worry. If Nebraska beats them they will have been "over rated." would be (impossible) pretty amazing if we beat iowa then they upset the east winner. i think the west will always be looked down upon by the east, BUT nebraska could be like florida was for a while in the sec east. doesn't matter once you get to the conference championship.
  10. If we have to start calling Iowa a top 5 team my head will explode. well, i'm just going by the fancy cfp rankings...a little suspect, but w/e.
  11. ending the year with wins over a top 5 and a top 10 would be awesome.
  12. Wow, thanks for the friendly post! And welcome. thnx for having me.
  13. it's not a bad thing to over train a little for 6-8 weeks. you'll recover and benefit from it. when i get too tired i just take a week off, but my workouts are for maintenence. not trying to push through any plateus.
  14. lsu fan and long distance admirer of nebraska here. when i think about watching nebraska over the last thirty plus years, there are plenty of moments, games, seasons, players and a particular coach to remember. what has stood out to me over the last decade or so is the fans. you guys have the best fans in college football imo. you LIVE nebraska football. it MATTERS. when i thinkk of football, i think of the nebraska cornhuskers. it's painful to see the type of season riley is having, but i would hang in there. the team has been competitive, and i would expect you to win the west division next year with a NEW defensive coordinator(if a few points fall on the other side you guys mighta won it this year and i think you'll beat iowa). i think riley can get the job done at nebraska to the point where he wins the west most years and competes for the big10 crown. maybe you could have done better than riley, but he's there now and will be next year. he's been coaching with one arm tied behind his back at oregonst. the only team with less or equal talent that he competed against was wsu. he was way outgunned by oregon, stanford and udub for the most part. nebraska may not be what it once was, however, you guys are still prominent enough to attract the recruits to win the west pretty much every year. given your current divisional alignment within the conference, it's very possible for the huskers to win the big10 once every 4 or so years and get a spot in the playoffs. i think that's realistic, again given your current divisional alignment. just think of what this year could've been with mediocre defensive play. i think the defense will be much better next year(not just because it can't get much worse). Go Big Red!

  16. My workout is mainly for maintenence. i get about 140ish grams of protein per day, around 1800 calories. i cheat on saturday AND sunday, lol. 5'10 200ishlbs 75in reach around 10% bodyfat, but probably 11% or so. i just use the look test for a flat stomach, some ab definition but not "shredded". I work out first thing in the morning. I superset just about everything for time's sake. I usually work out alone and don't usually have a spotter around. My gym doesn't have rubber weights or a platform so i don't do any type of cleans. i don't do hammer curls because it hurts my elbow. i wear wraps on my elbows. 3 sets of situps supersetted with hanging leg raises or butterflys 6 days a week right after workout. 20min of walking lunges 6 days a week (sometime in the evening).
