  1. You do realize how lame your schtick is, right? I actually feel sorry for you.
  2. Ranked, with a hypothetical 7-6 record? No. We're not in the SEC.
  3. Nebraska could beat everyone left on the schedule, except Ohio State. However, they could lose to everyone on the schedule, especially Ohio State. What will actually happen? F'k if I know.
  4. I don't understand what's going on here. Is he sucking them in, puking them out? I'm scared.
  5. An 11am start time though is closer to the time they practice so maybe we'll get a better and more consistent game.
  6. The bolded... . . . . There are SERIOUSLY not enough facepalms on the internet.
  7. I remember back in the day when Nebraska's players would take the smallest thing said by our opponents and turn it into bulletin board material. Like back in 1997 when Peyton Manning said Nebraska's defense is a pretty basic 4-3 with not a lot of different looks. Factually what Manning said was spot on. However, our players felt like he just insulted their mothers and took it out on him during the '98 Orange Bowl. I really, REALLY miss those days. I would love to see our payers take stuff like this and turn it into bulletin board material.
  8. Honestly, I never really saw this speed he was supposed to have. Maybe he wasn't going full speed? Maybe effort was questionable? So maybe in Corvallis he'll thrive? However, if Mike Riley didn't care that TL wasn't working out here, I doubt he'll require it at Oregon St.
  9. If Bell were to transfer to another Big 10 school, would he have to sit out 2 years?
  10. Against the Badgers, pretty much no one. We threw the ball twice as often as we ran it. Ordinarily, that would be a great source of WTF. However, after three years of Riley, Frost probably realized the team wouldn't just be able to run right at Wisconsin. So he played the hand he was dealt and did what he thought would give Nebraska a chance--which was throwing the ball. Going forward, I would like to see Nebraska find their #1 RB and stop the "by committe" approach. I mean obviously play the #2 and 3 guys if they've earned it, but play them to give the #1 breathers so he is fresh for the 4th Q.
  11. I am down with the OP and what was said. However, I'm not entirely sure there are still 6 wins on the schedule. But who knows? Nebraska finally gets that first win and things could take off. I am basing that on nothing more than blind hope at this point, but until reality says differently...
  12. I think we're collectively thinking ?hoping? those are just typical freshman mistakes. True freshmen, especially at QB, tend to take awhile to learn that defenses are substantially faster in college than they are in high school. You see it with Martinez still that he thinks he can make a big play all the time. For example, when rolls out, he still has a tendency to throw the ball back to the middle of the field--which is a huge no-no. He's been lucky thus far that none of those passes have been picked off.
  13. I learned, well it more drove the point home, that right now Nebraska is trying to win football games with offense alone. The defense has played well at times, but is far too inconsistent. Our punt/kick-off returns are terrible.
  14. Well said. There are definitely a percentage of Husker fans who have no idea just how terrible of a situation, and how bad the state of the program was/is, when Frost arrived. Now I freely admit that I was one of the fans who, in hindsight, grossly over-estimated how good this team was. The difference between me and the fans I am referring to is, once I saw how poorly we played overall against Troy, it became crystal clear just how messed up the program was/is currently. Coach Frost has a LOT left to fix and I know it won't all happen this year. We may actually struggle again next year as Frost continues to weed out those not fully committed and turning over the roster. Then there is the lag between recruiting and strength/conditioning/development that generally takes 1-2 years for each player. 2018 is a dumpster fire and 2019 may not be much better. But by 2020 is when I expect great things. That'll be Frost's third year, his systems in all three phases will be fully implemented, our S&C will be where it needs to be, and the sky will be the limit.
  15. It wasn't "garbage time stats" because Wisconsin had their starters in for the whole game.
  16. Our defense tonight was, more often than not, in the correct exact position they needed to be in to make plays. They didn't make those plays--that's what makes our defense bad. If our defense could tackle, they would have had so many tackles for loss. Or, at the minimum many of Wisconsin's running plays would have been for 0-1 yard, not the 5-8 yards they got quite a bit.
  17. Yes. Otherwise, you just look stupid. It is the same reason why you don't trash talk when you're losing.
  18. The bolded part...I concur. Frost said it plainly in his press conference, "They're just better than we are right now."
  19. But that was his decision. Baker wanted to play DT. Or so I heard.
  20. I kinda hope Frost was joking about moving Jurgens to OC.
  21. Yeah I heard the announcers say that and as a gut reaction I am thinking, WTF?!?!?! By all accounts, Cam Jurgens is a freak athlete who could be a huge physical mismatch for us at the TE spot. But, I'm going to trust Coach Frost (if this is true) that he knows what he's doing here.
