  1. We have two seasons full of reasons to complain. He shows a complete lack of judgment in play calling. Did he have a good game today? Sure but there were plenty of WTF moments where it looked like they were just picking plays at random. I'm not sure those reasons are 100% valid though. You act like OCDL being awful is a forgone conclusion everyone should know, but I'm not so sure he is a bad coach yet. You can come at me with your fan analysis all you want, and you may be right, but I think we should at least see how this team finishes the season because we can still end up with our best year in 15. Is that in spite of OCDL?
  2. I don't understand some on this board. Regardless of the offensive philosophy, to say we aren't running the ball or won't in the future is bogus. There are complaints about lack of running and gloomy messages of how that is going to be the future, but the fact of the matter is we are running the ball and running it pretty well. And so many of the throws are extremely high percentage plays. People want to hate on OCDL for really no reason when he has put together a good game plan with a back up quarterback this week. Yes Maryland isn't very good but that is who we are playing today, what more do you want?
  3. Doing that today against a bad Maryland run defense. Next year and beyond, it will be more pass heavy. Also, how many of the Fyfe runs/sacks were called pass plays. Where is the evidence? They ran a balanced offense at Oregon State. Mike Riley wants to run the ball and knows it is essential to winning.Langsdorf is the OC. He likes to pass the ball and doesn't stay comitted to the run. you are basing this on opinion though. What evidence do your have that this is true because I can look at the numbers and see that he has ran about 55% of the time this season as well as in the past most seasonsI'm basing it on all the WRs that are being recruited and the type of QBs being recruited. Langsdorf has gone more run heavy the past 2 years because he had no confidence in Armstrong, and Tommy was able to do a lot of things running the ball. Basically, the QB run game will be replaced with 4-wide, short passing game and then hit a deep pass from time to time. as an OC at Oregon State he ran more than he threw 4 out of 9 seasons. 4 seasons he threw more but still ran 45% of the time at least. His final season with Oregon State he did get pass happy. I think we have backs so we aren't super interested in a back this cycle but I do believe we will always run the ball between 45-60% of the time. That is a wide variance but we will still remain balanced. I highly doubt we will ever throw 60-70% of the time

  6. We are running a very balanced game plan. 31 runs 28 passes. That's what this staff is a about, very balanced offense. Also, at least half of the passes have been screen or swing passes. Basically run plays very high percentage pass plays. The play calling has been pretty good today in my opinion
  7. This has possibly been our best first half performance yet
  8. At what point does MR fire him? Two weeks in a row. Two ST plays in a row.Wow!FG attempt had 11 on the field, but the Terps overloaded the right side and our guys didn't shift their assignments.I count 10 on the block. There is 11
  9. I think that first third down play is a great example of a low risk-medium to high reward play that you can go to when you can throw the ball accurately and on time
  10. Technology is a fast moving world and 10 years is a long time within that world
  11. My question is, if this kid signs what does that mean for some of our other top WR targets? Do we not take Holloman if he wants N and JL and Hodgins are N
  12. Do not agree. If Wisconsin wins the Big 10 championship, especially if they won over Michigan, they would clearly have a better resume than Louisville. Even if they just beat a top 10 PSU they would have a much better resume than Louisville. Especially considering what's happening right now (Louisville Houston). Let's face it Wisconsin has alot of great wins and 2 "good losses" add a conference title they are in. The argument with OSU is a little bit muddier if PSU is the East representative, but that won't matter if Washington slips up at any point. Wisconsin will have a better resume than the Huskies or OU as will the Buckeyes, I could see them both getting in at that point What great wins has Wisconsin had? Their overtime win at home against us? If we lose to Iowa which is highly likely if Armstrong can't go, we end the season unranked. Was it their win against LSU? The LSU that fired their coach who is playing better ball without him but still might very well end the season unranked? When we look back at the 2016 season, it is likely Wisconsin will have beat no team ranked at season's end during the regular season. Wisconsin is a good team, but they're not a great team. I would give the nod to Penn State having a better resume than Wisconsin. They've beat the #2 team in the country. The early loss to Pitt is also not looking so bad considering Pitt just beat Clemson. The only way I see the B1G getting two teams in is if Penn State wins the B1G and Ohio State gets the at large. Well first of all, the LSU victory is still a great win for Wisky. Beating us will turn out to be a good win. And if we are talking end of the road, if Wisconsin wins the BIG that will include a top 10 win. So your PSU argument is a little invalid because of course my entire post was based on the idea Wisconsin wins the BIG, which at that point would leave PSU out. If PSU wins the BIG they would have a shot but their losses aren't good and they have 2 maybe 3 quality wins (OSU, minnesota, BIG title game). Wisconsin has better losses and a way better non con win and maybe 1 more quality conference opponent I just think their resume is a little better even though PSU does hold the victory over OSU. In the end it will be decided on the field one way or another so we will see soon enough. Edit:your post inferred who would have a better resume assuming a BIG win, I was a little off on my counter argument, strawmanning a little I apologize

  14. I think Wisconsin would be deserving of a playoff spot if they won the BIG. They have had as tough as a schedule as anyone and performed very well. I think OSU gets left out if Washington, Clemson, Bama win out. If Washington stumbles again (most likely imo) OSU is in if not I think you get Bama, Clemson at 12-1, Washington at 12-1 and Wisconsin at 11-2 because that is easily justifiable by the committee and it keeps a precedence of importance on a conference title. If Washington picks up a second loss I think OSU will definitely get in though. SOS and overall resume is important as well and OSU would have that big time over a 2 loss Washington and a 1 loss Louisville, especially if Oklahoma wins the Big 12
  15. This is how I see it. 2 big 10 teams, Wisconsin and Bama. That Clemson-Ohio game would be a good one
  16. Just start the season with every power 5 team set up in a big single elimination tournament
  17. Yeah, for real. Only this and Wyoming were that early. Now I wonder about Iowa kickoff time. If we beat Maryland and we're still in the hunt for the B1G West, I would suspect we'd get a 2:30p slot, with the Wisky/Minny getting a 6 or 7pm kickoff on ESPN/ABC (doubt it will fall to BTN). If we win, it just heightens the drama even more, making more folks tune in. And if Wisky somehow stubs their toe on Pur-freakin'-due, well...then I wouldn't be shocked to see us get a 6p/7p tilt, especially since Iowa is on everyone radar for last Saturday. don't we play on a different day all together?
  18. I think we win out so we would have to hope on Wisconsin. We have kept it close or won every game we have played vs teams similar or less talented than we are. I don't see that trend changing just based on our style of play, and after what happened last year against Iowa I just dont see us letting that one get away.
  19. In Langs defense I think we were committed to making short horizontal throws our outside runs game to loosen them up in the first half. TA also did alot of damage on the ground to kind of mix up our run game from what we've been seeing the last few weeks
  20. I feel like it's alot easier to support 8 teams mid season but as the season wears on 4-6 teams really have separated themselves
  21. Moore needs to step up. Had a few drops last week. I'd like to see him go big tonight. Watching Clemson, Mike Williams is a receiver who catches everything. A bigger faster Westy. Williams 6'3, 205..... The 50/50 balls Langs like are more like 90/10 with a receiver like Williams. Big, rangy receivers are a must in this O going forward. If Langs continues to like the 50/50 money ball.... *cough* Joseph Lewis
  22. Riley being career .500 at a school that is historically .450 including his time there isn't successful?
