  1. It's funny because from the stands (50 yard line, right under the overhang) it almost looked like a favorable spot for Illinois live. Didn't realize it was so close of a call until after the game
  2. making us 5-4 sending us into a downward spiral where we lose out. HCMR gets canned along with the whole staff and SE replaces him with Tommie Frazier. Exciting time to be a husker! In all honesty I think the most likely scenario in my mind is 1-1 with 0-2 being possible but less likely to me, I have alot of faith in this team! 2-0 is possible if we are go into the shoe undefeated for a top 5 match up and play our best football wire to wire. Force OSU out of a rhythem and out execute them. If this happens it is entirely possible we can pull off the unthinkable
  3. probably more than Bryant with the losses we will have at WR and just the nature of the position compares to RB
  4. This is a solid point. Other division may just plain be better and in most conferences that's actually the case. Can't punish the best team in one division for falling to the better teams of the other division As far as wiskys schedule, while a little unfair, does give them a fantastic opportunity to prove they are real. If they continue to win no one is comparing them to Iowa last year, they will be a legit contender
  5. This is a little late but man when I read the article about Hal Daub he said something in particular that I thought was so funny. He said something along the lines of "if these players want to protest they can go do it on their own dime" The second I read that I literally laughed out loud! As if the players don't bring in the university millions of dollars yearly. All of his comments were asinine but that stuck out to me. All those "leave politics out of sports" people, I'm sure these players are soooooo sorry to have ruined your entertainment by silently taking a knee before the game, they know it takes away all the fun of it. (Sarcasm) I had to delete Facebook off of my phone because I was tired of arguing with complete asshats that have never even been close to the issue. I thought people were a little more flexible in thought, a little dissapointed seeing I was wrong
  6. I liked Rileys emphasis on the big play differentials I think it's very important to keep track of a state like that
  7. I appreciate the input, but I fail to see your point. Seeing the teams ranked in order of their ranking doesn't give you a clear picture where they are ranked? if NU is considered in the averages of the opponents we have no real benchmark to judge our performance against them
  8. big reason I think we have a big season. Could have folded up and had a poor start to the season and it would have been understandable. Instead they are really showing toughness and heart, two key factors in winning ballgames imo
  9. Unless he is jumping over a defender! *inserts Jordan logo with Tommy's face on the head*
  10. Not to get into a big discussion about last year. But, I'm not sure who you think just 'accpeted defeat' last year on our sidelines. No one I'm not talking about last year necessarily I just think after losing a game they should have won last year the huskers will come with a 'refuse to lose' attitude which will dominate Illinois 'hope we win this one' attitude. May not be what happens but I'm also a fan on a message board so imuch not exactly an expert But if we are going to get specific, technically losing would be accepting defeat (kidding)
  11. Illinois defensive stats don't ad up op. As for this game I am very excited to take my girlfriend from Mississippi to her first Husker game and see all of the homecoming festivities! Nobody on the NU sideline will accept defeat this time around against the Illini where as I believe they will be hoping for a win. Big difference in thought there and it will show. 38-7 win for Big Red in this one
  12. Everyone hates on our pass d but the stats show we are solid there. This may be mostly the offenses we have faced but we also did a fair job against Oregon
  13. This. The Huskers haven't looked perfect but I think if they can grow and get better and put together a crisp performance this team is capable of playing a great game against Wisconsin and putting themselves in position to win. Now whether this team can do that or not we will see but right now I believe we can.
  14. What that guy said ^ Furthermore, it's putting more pressure on finding a solution to the violence; which I'm pretty sure is universally desirable. Well....pressure to find a solution to SOME violence.....a very, very, very minute portion of the violence that occurs.....African American kids have been killing African American kids for decades.....no one ever gave a hoot about that violence. Now, these kids surely have the right to act the fool....I served to give them that right.....but they are misguided, bandwagoning, trend-following sheep, and disingenuous in my opinion do not fing go here on a football thread. This is what's wrong. Systematic racism is a real thing and it needs to stop. This has nothing to do with the problem and is just as much a problem in every racial community across the board so get out of here with that "maybe they should be concerned about the African Americans killing African Americans" that is disrespectful and a disgrace if you ask me
  15. I think the officials need to take a look if the ball crosses the plane near the beginning!
  16. This game also is still midway through the second quarter that is an observation
  17. I mean I don't know what else Williams is doing at this point besides twiddling his thumbs. Might as well be 'crootin. Not what I meant. I meant it seems like we're not so sure on our top targets. Not sure why you would take that as we are not so sure on our top targets. Until they sign no one is guaranteed. The process is to keep building relationships until the spot are all full. It does look like we have decided that it is a TOP priority to get a tall guy. However, continuing to look for top guys is not an indicator that we have missed with others. Man we have a staff that are showing signs that NU is a good destination for kids - now we want them to stop the process and wait for signing day? - have some faith!! Again with the strawman. It's you go-to move. Man you are funny. Where do you come up with the strawman? You might want to figure out it's definition before you come with some go to move idea. Thanks for the humor thou. No problem. Simply show me where I - or anyone - said we should "stop the process and wait for signing day." I'll hang up and wait for your answer. you were talking about how it seems we aren't so sure on our top WR targets and he said to have sone faith and wait it out, our coaches are just following the process. Seemed like a normal response to me. No straw men in sight So you're ignoring the part that I specifically quoted? nope I'll address it. He never said that anyone said we should stop the process. It was a hyperbole to how you were reacting to our strategy in WR recruiting right now. He never said that you said that, it was exaggerated take on what you were saying. Just because someone drops a sentence that no one actually said or was really inferring doesn't mean he is arguing with straw men, I just think you need to ease up a little If you think there is a distinction between an eaggerated take on what I was saying and a straw man argument, you must be who GBRFAN was laughing at earlier when he said people didn't know what a straw man argument was. in fact there is. He never set up the strawman by fabricating an argument from what you said and he didn't knock said strawman down because after he made the statement you are referring to, he didn't vehemently argue against it. GBR responded to what you said, gave his take and then gave a hyperbolic statement to cement his point it shouldn't be weird the coaches are still offering WRS. I know what strawmanning is and that wasn't it and I think it's a little annoying when you go around accusing everyone of doing it when they disagree with you Yeah, good try with the semantics. You're missing the forest for the trees (intentionally I think). Not really you nitpicked the very end of the post and called him out for strawmanning for no good reason I don't think I'm wrong here that's why I've been arguing it. 2 against one brother.

  22. Another point about them kicking instead of going for 2, even if we include the first 2 pointer and say they kicked the rest, it would still be impossible to say how that would change the outcome of the game. They would have scored 36 points but also our team and coaches would have reacted differently to the situation if they had more points and could have still scored 38 instead of 35.
  23. This has been under appreciated. It was a problem last year, one of our biggest. The coaches and players don't seem to be having it this year, we seem to get better as the game clock approaches 00:00
