  1. Am I the only one wonder wtf kind of shoes he's wearing?!
  2. Looks like another nice transfer pickup by Frost and his new staff. With NIL now being a thing, along with vast amount of support NU gets as it's the only show in the state, the transfer portal could be how Nebraska makes up for the challenges it faces in recruiting.
  3. Maybe they think hiring an actual special teams coordinator means we will actually win our one score games?
  4. Probably different then if Urban Meyer would have wound up as the Raiders coach! Lord knows what kind of establishments he would have been recorded in!
  5. I think the QB run game will still be a part of the offense, but the designed QB runs called 10+ times a game are a thing of the past. We'll see the option and QB draw sprinkled in on occasion, but the straight QB dive or off tackle type plays will be called considerably less
  6. You have to be right. There is no way we're not winning bids. Players aren't coming to Nebraska right now based on the recent lack of success the program has had.
  7. Is there very many 6'6" centers? I worry that he may struggle with leverage because he's so tall and someone could easily get underneath him,
  8. Being from Kansas it’s frustrating because I’ve seen several good players go out of state the could have went to Nebraska but they have missed on them or flat out not recruited them, most recently this missed out if Isaiah Simmons and I don’t think they recruited Breece Hall much if at all
  9. I don’t live in Nebraska so idk, but have many HS kids from the state fit the prior scheme?
  10. I bet it more boils down to the staff didn’t think that the player was as high of caliber as the high school coaches felt said player(s) were
  11. Thompsons post injury numbers are pretty similar to Adrians numbers, and his pre injury numbers are considerably better, especially the td to int ratio. One thing I think we need to make sure we realize is that on average the defenses in the big 10 are considerably better than the defenses in the big 12
  12. I think it boiled down to a handful of things. Poor technique, Poor scheme, injuries, and youth. Jergens was seasoned, but after that the quality of seasoned players left was lacking imo. Much of our promising lineman were/are younger players
  13. I think 8 wins is possible. Losses against OU, and Michigan for sure. I see is probably losing two games to either Purdue, Minnesota, Wisconsin or Iowa. That would put us in a decent bowl game and we go another season with 3 close losses and we leg an egg in 1 game getting beat by 17 or so
  14. I’m wondering if it forced attrition, and Frost is going to to trim the fat so to speak. I’m thinking that Frost and staff are replacing anyone who either hasn’t worked as hard as they like, or they scouted and the player didn’t develop like they visioned
  15. Casey Thompson is similar in size to the UCF Qb that Frost had and did so well with. Thompson is also a good enough athlete to make teams respect his running ability. A QB like this has the ability to be the home run guy we've needed. Martinez was great but his limitations as a passer and tendency to get injury hampered the offense immensely. And now it appears hopefully we have a guy who can actually develop the backup QBs so the team actually will have some depth at that position as well!
  16. Is Hunter Anthony projected to play OG or OT?
  17. The ugly truth of major college football is that a couple guys might not have their scholarships renewed in order to make room for others
  18. I agree but if we can get both then I’m all for it. We need depth and competition at every position
  19. Powell would make sense as he would have a great understanding of Whipples offense
  20. To me it makes the most sense to hire Busch as the ST coach and Frost coach the rbs. Frost was a glorified RB in his time at Nebraska so it’s not a stretch to think he could coach that position and let Busch focus on improving the most glaring deficiency on the team
  21. Sounds awfully familiar to some of our more recents QBs...... but it seems like his injuries are pretty fixable. He had arm fatigue that he never really got to work with a trainer with due to covid and a hamstring that time and proper training won't be a huge deal because he's not a "dual threat" guy
  22. I don’t know much about Slovis but he doesn’t have to be super fleet of foot. If he is just somewhat of a threat to run the ball it would help get the wideouts and tight ends open in space
  23. I might sound crazy but Smothers might have these qualities. He doesn’t have a huge arm but he was efficient in short throws and played pretty well in his first ever start against a ranked Iowa team. Not saying we couldn’t upgrade but he might surprise everyone
  24. This is the approach Frost should take. Emphasis on should
