  1. Danny K's in Orange CA- ever since Vern's Cornhusker Haven in Fullerton shut down about 20 years ago - its the "go to place" I'm either there or at the game- never watch one at home, I'd go berserk watching at home
  2. I think this is good, there were a lot of Riley homers on these sites, and like the Callahan homers before that they should have to wallow in it. At least Callahan seemed to be a winner prior to his hire, Riley's record was out there in all its non-glory- this this outcome wasn't really hard to predict- ending up with SF now that is the only reason that allows me to say Riley was good for Nebraska
  3. sorry I should have included that bogus statement you quoted- you missed the fact that he actually compared Bo salary, $214K (which at the time in line with the market amount) to Smiley Mike's- Smiley is the criminal, $50k for a job that is typically $450k+?? of course Bo will deserve a raise for what he's done at Youngstown, Smiley should be happy to get a job at McDonalds let alone another coaching job- however giving him a job that typically pays over $450k and only paying him $50k is what is called sticking it to Nebraska. the Dude is a fraud and a weasel and the Beavers deserve him at whatever price
  4. Men's room stalls, dark alleys next to bars named "the Manhole", some other areas Dirk shines in. The new guy at the Lincoln paper seems to be the only one without a chip on his shoulder and doesn't seem to get butt-hurt over all this access crapola- most of the OWH guys? They only want to bring up how Pelini ruined all things related to Nebraska football and tell us how great of a guy Riley was. Add trying to undermine Frost to that list.
  5. I think that thing would have to have a wingspan the size of the spruce goose and Apollo rocket engines to get Sam airborne
  6. if he's cut down on the alleged partying and has seriously bought in to the new system he might stay- If he leaves it will be because this staff won't put up with half-effort players, and he probably reverted back to his old habits
  7. One could say at $50k a year they got a deal, i'd question that because I think his mediocrity is infectious, but who knows maybe its just a titular title they gave him and his real job is to massage groin injuries
  8. actually we should thank our lucky stars they got rid of Eichorst when they did- there would have been no way we could have gotten an AD in place fast enough to get Scott Frost on board. Frost himself even indicated in his PC that if he didn't have a solid AD and Administration he wouldn't have come back.
  9. this topic and the fact that Riley is the poster boy for lack of accountability, is the reason he was, and will always be a loser- maybe a nice guy, but like Callahan and Jennings before him a loser. But most of us knew that when he was hired. It was all there for everyone to see: his win-loss record, his body language, his choices of assistant coaches, etc etc Frost, on the other hand..... the first thing that comes to mind, and this did when I saw his PC when he accepted the UCF job, is winner. At the time, I was thinking, how on earth did UCF get a guy like Frost and we ended up with a retread like Riley?
  10. hmmm not sure the whole P5 thing was my main focus of the post-of course "most coaches" didn't start off at P5 schools (I'll assume most of Rileys crew didn't start off at P5 schools) the point other people seemed to make is that because they don't have much experience that could be an issue- the P5 thing was just an extension to that view that I added. nice background information on Leach though
  11. 2 good points in this thread- 1. the new staff has very little experience especially in P5 schools 2.Having P5 experienced coaches haven't equaled winning / success both points don't clearly state the obvious reason why this crew should outperform the last- the last crew were proven losers- I think it is clear to anyone now that the Riley hire and crew had a predictable outcome based on their past history, and however abbreviated the history may be for Frosts crew, they have a predictable outcome, which in the short term will be getting back to winning seasons and long term will be winning Championships.
  12. weinie boys like dirk and barf s,am etc are crapping their pants because unlike Riley, Frost doesn't suffer fools- most of the media and their jobs revolve around insecurity in their lack of sufficient manhood and having access to the babbling's of an old man, paired with a failing newspapers desire to cause a story rather than "report" a story. Notice he called Sipple sip? he already has favorites that is clear- a great hire, a winner in his ways, smart -funny-witty-honest- integrity- all words that "fit" him. I will miss the Rileyisms and diaco-speak as a source of humor you know everything is going well.....except for the games- can you see the strain? great fun
  13. last rant, everyone remembers the best fans booing Scott as a player? right? hypocrites
  14. yeah like the best fans gave Frank and Bo the great send offs- oh, yeah that was ok because one was perceived to be an ahole- f- the greatest fans BS already
  15. that guy is a fool and doesn't like SF- blames him for the LP trouble- although like the blind squirrel he could get the nut once in a while, not saying SF won't be our next coach, I'm just saying it is far from a "done deal"
  16. I didn't start it in case you cared to notice but haters going to hate
  17. there is no substit good for you - matched what I thought you were....have another Runza
  18. in case you haven't heard the latest Florida is making another run at him RIGHT NOW- up the $$$ we're playing checkers
  19. Just for that comment I hope SF doesn't come to Nebraska to suffer fools I'd laugh out loud if we hired the mad hatter- the fact is 50% would be ok with that- you deserve all that is the glory of MR's 3 years
  20. BTW Pelini's "culture" included people that made it possible for old MR to go to a bowl the first year- also warriors like Adam Taylor, TA, Westercamp I could go on but why? haters going to hate
  21. yep sure was a fun 3 years....right? right? grow another layer of skin and be happy with the bliss
  22. An example of why old people need to be institutionalized when showing signs of senility - if they don't hurt themselves they put others at risk
  23. maybe perlman shouldn't have publicly chastised Bo- that wasn't his job to do that and I think he was a ranging ahole to do that publically- that was the beginning of the end for Bo because Perlman ....gasp... couldn't take the horror of a coach who showed a pulse on the sidelines you anti Bo guys are great- look what you got- a C nt for an AD (gone) and Ahole chancellor (gone) forced out a legend- and a winning coach who thin skin wieners couldn't stand because "he was an embarrassment " well soak in the loss to Iowa ya got your nice coach who loves you all - no embarrassment in losing to Iowa today is there?
  24. Adam Taylor is why you "don't" run off "non-contributors" we're not the SEC and never will be, you need guys like this on the team- had more than one injury and even though it obviously cut into his ability he never gave up and was a positive influence on teammates - why would anyone think running a guy like this off would be a good thing? Sure, guys that don't put in the effort or seem entitled- yeah you suggest they transfer and you bury them on the depth chart- anything more than that and we're just like the unethical SEC aholes- I would rather not win that way. But not everyone was brought up that way I guess.
