You might think OP's take is pessimistic but seriously, look at how this team has performed the last 3 years. The first 4 games could crush their psyches this year. I personally think they're more reilisient than past years so they finish strong and get to .500. Ohio State - L Wisconsin - W Northwestern - L Penn St. - L Illinois - W Iowa - W Purdue - L Minnesota - W The defense still won't be able to stop the run but the offense and ST are improved enough to win a couple we would've lost in 19. We go 4-4 but beat both Iowa and Wisconsin so the season is a success. My real hot take: we don't get through all 8 games without a postponement/cancelation.

Martinez will start, I would bet money on that. However, the difference between this year and last is that he's being pushed. If he struggles, he will come out at least for a series or two. That motivation is what should improve the QB play the most in my eyes. They both know they have to get it done or sit. That's what Frost is working towards at every spot and that's how you get a better football team.

Have you watched a Husker game recently? It's painful.

Which makes me think they'll try to make a statement right out of the gate. I think Nebraska will score some, but Fields, that line/Sermon, and our lack of CB depth make me think they'll pull away. There's always a chance they're rusty, so if Nebraska comes to ball this could be a shootout. Don't beat yourself, show some toughness and give them a game for as long as possible. And make them punt.
