    One guy on first, one out. Batter lines out to 6 who then those to first 6-3 for the third out. Is that just scored a DP? That is the way the rule book wordily reads, but shouldn't the baserunner be marked for something for being too far off 1st?

      I have rationalize the reasoning now. A GIDP makes for a force. A DP, like this one, is more of a kudo for the defense rather than a blemish on the hitter, even though the result is the same as a GIDP. I did score a 9-2 FC today NP8

      I keep book for my daughters softball team. I don't think I've ever scored a FC on a hit to the outfield and don't think I would. I may need to study up but thought FC's were just for infield shots.

      Pretty hard to not award a hit for a ball hit to the OF.
