  1. For all you hunters out there- do you ask farmers if you can hunt their land? I've been asked by a neigherbor, and I really don't care, but does the landowner have any liability?

      Based on what I know about liability issues, yes, the landowner could always be considered liable for any accident that occurs on their land. Highly improbable in the case of a hunting incident, but possible. i.e. somebody trips over an old fence post, shoots their partner. An aggressive lawyer could sure talk somebody into claiming your negligence contributed. Depends more on how much they stand to get from you than on any real negligence issue. IMO. Not saying that's a good enough reason to not allow access but it might be a good reason to purchase personal liability insurance.

      It really doesn't make sense for me to purchase personal liability insurance for something I don'e even charge for.  Kind of sad really.

      Not asking is foolish and illegal,one land owner I have has permission slips made up every year,he's got Alot of land and hunters, the slip has  not responsible for accidents written on it,we both sign two copies his and the hunters.Great idea imo
