  1. Hey! Wait just a second ... why isn't AM on that list. :-)
  2. I don't see yet an OL stud or two ... so I really can't be too upset about losing a RB recruit for what we already have. I thought this kid had the mojo/attitude to be a good one ... but still, he wants and needs blockers and I'm sure he started to really "consider" what we have and lost interest in the opportunity verses other options. Good luck to him.
  3. Yes, I'm first and foremost for that. We have to the "k" out of kNebraska.
  4. I get what you are saying ... but even in college you have to "PRO - TECT" the ball to "PRO - GRESS" to then truly "PRO - SPER". We have lived in the "PRE - " for far too long. Hoping we can "PRO - VIDE" and "PRO - MISE" with these new "PRO - FESSORS". Ha ha.
  5. Nice! Ha ha. I don't get it ... BUT I'LL TAKE IT!
  6. Ya, I agree with that. I actually don't post 9 of the 10 things I start posting. It's all negative. It's just gotten so bad one can't even put together a coherent sentence to describe how we feel anymore. It's kNebaska Football Recovery 101 in here. Ha ha. I will post this ... as I think I captured my feelings in this logo. I did this as a nice large one but can't post it as a big high def image.
  7. Ya, you would think they went 3-9 or something. :-)
  8. Frost has to get so far down the road in this next year ... so I get Mr. Wipple and this guy. Good luck to them both.
  9. claims him off the waiver wire and also brings his 4 star TE brother from the LSU commit list. Hire the Dad, [Brad Johnson as an analyst]. Ha ha.
  10. My guess is that we can get him here for 1-2 years. We don't like to keep these kind of guys when they get to be Juniors or Seniors. They aren't good enough then. Ha ha.
  11. Ya, and two years of practicing hiking. Ha ha.
  12. It's all one in the same to me. Yes, Stoll was a waste as well. I didn't choose to have AM again and again and again. It's all part of the same issue for Scott [late to the dance and figuring it out]. My perception is Fidone will end up the same. It's like having a fantasy football player that is scoring points each week and for whatever reason ... you have him on the bench. Had he been played and used more often you probably would have won more games. Hope Scott figures it out and takes advantage of all his support.
  13. In his four [4] years, he accumulated basically a 1000 yards in about 65 catches. Here are his stats: https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4240787/austin-allen As a general statement, what I'm getting to is the "lateness" of seeing what he was and then not getting even more out of him. I think he could have caught 50-60 balls and been close to a 1000 yards in this season. So, generally, if I had that talent, I would have simply gone more to him and sooner [not differently]. For me, he was more of a "bread & butter" guy. Since we couldn't establish the run I could have seen him used even more of a threat. Perhaps it because we are talking in a forum ... but I'm just getting to the "yearning" for what we had in him but not getting out of him all that he was. I think it will be seen in the NFL.
  14. Ya, I get what you are saying/stating. It's just a word choice for a view in the line of going 3-9 and having a talent like him where if he were used better that just that "one guy" could probably win you a few more games. Frost talks a lot about being a "play away", or a "player away" ... and then you have players and situations were you need that "play" or "player" and Scott misses this. Let me take away the word "drastically". "Austin Allen was a wasted talent." I think that statement will stand the test of time.
  15. I'm excited too ... but in a pain-filled way for Fidone. I can see more of the same happening ... which is a lot of wasted talent. AA will be a good TE in the NFL and I think we will look back at just how under utilized he was. I so relate to Scott. He will figure it out all to late and let his own pride get in the way.
  16. Ah, that's too bad. I think we would win with AM. I won't hold that view with Smoothers.
  17. That was a wonderful "decision" video. Excited for his next chapter.
  18. Hopeful that Yant can get into the portal and find a good team to contribute on. I think this kid can be a stud somewhere. If it's "on him" that he hasn't learned the playbook and stumbles over his own feet, okay. Still, I think there is another team where he can flourish and do better than here. Then, at least, we can free up a roster spot for a guy that we can make less of his potential as well.
  19. Agree with JJ. It's fascinating to listen to Frost in the Whisky press conference and pat their backs for being a great team in all "three" phases of the game ... and yet, not being able to fully conceed how much our lack in that 3rd phase puts us behind the 8-ball.
