  1. I learned that I'm still encouraged for the future, but this year is going to take some faith and patience. I still believe Frost is the best option for us and to call him overrated or claim his offense won't work in the B1G is just ridiculous. I also learned that being patient doesn't mean forgiving everything that is happening. The penalties and turnovers have to get cleaned up. The special teams coaching and execution has to improve too. None of that means these coaches aren't going to get things where they need to be, but year 1 or year 5 those areas have to get cleaned up and the coaches need to make it happen.
  2. Not only 3rd string, but walk on 3rd string. This kid went to JUCO and had one small offer. I root for walk ons but Bunch's talent is what it is and it's not Power 5 you could see that today. If it was a 3rd string scholarship that might be better. Honestly I'd guess Frost had access to less than half of his playbook.
  3. Gonna need to pound it on the ground looks like.
  4. My mom grew up in Lincoln and I have traveled there more than I can remember (never lived there though). We literally buy frozen Runzas and Valentino's pizza to bring home every time we visit. Maybe it's cause I ate it growing up on visits or something, but they are two of my favorites and I only get to eat them once a year or so. Not saying Val's is the best pizza around, but I would rank it higher than hot garbage! ha
  5. I really like how two guys from each team are just like ya I am not doing this...
  6. https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/rapid-reaction-martinez-has-improved-every-day-this-week-but/article_e1829d07-69f9-5d16-8290-b902b292c0e7.html You have a better source than Scott Frost?
  7. Fair point. Still just pisses me off, ha.
  8. Seeing Martinez yelling in pain at the point that 44 is twisting his leg the hardest is everything you need to see to know this is dirty. My guess is AM wasn't even hurt on the initial tackle because you don't see him look in pain at first. Not to mention he grabs for his knee after the twist not before.
  9. Assuming you've never been to Lincoln before you have to have a Runza and eat at Valentino's. They are staples. Also, RIP Tastee's how I miss thee!
  10. My message to those fans is that one shortened off season does not fix all of the past issues that led to those self inflicted wounds. I think SF will fix them, but we have to remember we have players who remember/played in Bo's final year and played through all three of the MR years. Those cultures are still here even if they are starting to change.
  11. True I probably need to spend less time on message board and social media ha.
  12. The amount of overreactions to an opening game loss for a new coach across Husker Nation is crazy to me. I honestly thought people were going to give frost a longer runway to get going but I don't know anymore. The negative comparisons and posts are just crazy to me. I'm not making any judgements based on this game it's way way way way too early.
  13. Probably didn't make it worse but that CO player that had his legs obviously twisted his leg down harder before he got up. Pretty dirty. Edit: after watching that several more times he really twists his knee that's enough to cause a sprain.
  14. Honestly, if we can put together 2-3 seasons of beating the heck out of some teams that disdain will build quickly. When you are trading out wins each year with Northwestern, Minnesota, Iowa, etc. it's not like fans really start to dislike each other because "hey we'll probably get them next year" ya know? If we smack Northwestern down by 30 points 2-3 years in a row that fan base will start to build that dislike. So, I think winning will build some of that. Also, as a younger fan, I barely remember the Big 12 days and don't remember the Big 8 days so for me going back to the Big 12 would be weird too. I know the history and have some of that dislike but most of your fans who are younger than maybe 30 don't remember the rivalries like older fans do. We mostly just know we don't like them because that's what the older fans tell us. Plus, Big 12 is trying to head the way of the SWC and it may not even exist in a few years especially if Oklahoma ever decides to bolt for greener pastures. Final point, if you win the Big 10 you're in the playoffs no doubt. If you win the Big 12 you probably better have been pretty dominant during the year and hope that the ACC or PAC 12 don't have a really dominant team. Oklahoma last year was a good example, they were dominant and the PAC 12 stunk so they got in.
  15. Since we're reading tea leaves, Andrian Martinez was first in line at the QB table so that means...
  16. The QB discussion is fun, but this comment can be taken one of two ways. Either our defense has improved so much since last year that it can actually be disruptive or our offense stinks and can't even handle a defense that stunk last year. Hoping it's option number 1, but either way I don't think we should expect the offense to be firing on all cylinders for the first few games.
  17. Good I'm ready for real football news! Ha
  18. Gebbia is featured in the photo... Gebbia is the starter!
  19. Oh I totally agree with you on this. I was surprised that the coaching staff would make that comparison at this point.
  20. I'd assume as long as you're using that same billboard design in other locations not necessarily by football recruits you could claim it was general student recruiting.
  21. Comparing this year to year 2 at UCF is great considering how that season went for UCF...
  22. Wasn't static stretching before a workout abandoned by most severla years ago? I remember a ton of research coming our 4 or 5 years ago about it's lack of benefits and possibility of leading to injury. Guess it makes since MR still had the team doing it.
