  1. I’d be going to the bar. Frost however, is probably disappointed, but not going to deviate from the course. He believes in the process. If he was freaking out after the game I would be concerned. But he is confident in what he’s doing. He didn’t suddenly forget how to coach.
  2. No. We are marginally better this year now. I think we’ll show slow, but steady improvement by the end of the season and beat Iowa. We won’t give up like we did last year. Frost won’t allow it. I promise you that.
  3. Maybe one qb said to the other “someday, we won’t be running for our lives on every freaking play, that’s going to be awesome “ and this hope happened to draw a smile. Seriously, though. What else can we find to complain about?
  4. I wish I knew the answers too. Nothing is wrong with those questions. I never said there is. I was offering my interpretation of what I thought the OP meant by “throwing under the bus “.
  5. Throwing under the bus as in get rid of him? Nobody is saying that, but I've been reading a lot of criticism on this board today. "overrated", "lost his team?", "poor play calling?", "why is ___ player playing?", and basically a lot of why do we suck? comments. I think that is what the OP is getting at.
  6. Frost is a different animal. Straight shooter. Not going to sugar coat. Maybe he needs a little of a bit of a filter sometimes, maybe not. His frankness is appreciated, but yes, tough to hear sometimes. We just can't dissect everything he says (not saying you are).
  7. I get what you're saying, but I think it's a little early to be calling the coaches overrated. This was ugly today. Coaches, players, everything. I still believe in this staff, but its going to take a while for sure. Longer than I originally thought.
  8. Bad, but not this bad. Michigan >>Wisconsin.
  9. I guess Colorado and Troy aren’t very good after all.
  10. Yep. Bunch should have recognized the Blitz before the snap. On the interception he missed a wide open Stanley Morgan and forced a throw into coverage instead. Experience will help with those things. These sorts of things happened all game and can’t be minimized when evaluating why we are 0-2.
  11. Getting back on topic—this is turning into a Why the O line struggled thread—I think 2AM plays Saturday. They would only keep him out if the training staff thought he is at risk for making the injury worse per what Frost said Monday. If that was the case, he probably wouldn’t be practicing either. The last thing the team’s confidence needs now is a beat down to start Big Ten play. If 2AM doesn’t play, I’m afraid that’s where we could be headed.
  12. I think the Heat and being gassed talk is just an excuse. We struggled with Troy ‘s quickness and d line movement more than anything.
  13. Bunch didn’t have a good day by any stretch of the imagination. Remember he’s a third string walk on who was starting his first college game in a new system. Considering all of that, we shouldn’t be surprised. He learn from this and will improve and we hopefully will get AM back soon. I still think six wins is doable.
  14. I was at the game and I agree 100% with this.
  15. Kurt Rafdal has had some nice catches. The future is looking bright for the tight end position.
  16. It's been two days since Troy and all the negative comments are not doing anyone any good. Negativity is contagious and leads to false perception, which eventually becomes reality if left unchecked. I'm just as guilty as anyone after a loss at grabbing a beer and sulking or otherwise spreading negativity about what the Huskers are doing wrong. So with the commencement of conference play upon us, I thought maybe a little positivity might do us all some good. There is another thread about how things aren't so bad and there is a lot of good stuff in there, but also some very long comments. I was thinking something a little more brief. List ONE positive thing about the Husker Team, Program, etc and give a brief reason if you'd like. Let's see how far we can take this. You may be surprised. I'll start. Mohammed Barry. This dude is a Big Ten linebacker. He's going to do some great things for us this year.
  17. Chip Kelly being called out on Twitter by his QBs Dad. Not good. Glad we aren’t dealing with crap like that.
  18. There has been some tempo, for sure. But I don’t recall it being effective against Troy. Anybody can run tempo, but if it’s only some of the time and you end up with a 1-2 yard running play, then it isn’t doing what it is designed to do. The point of this thread is we need to realize that until we’re able to run tempo the way Frost wants to and with the right personnel to do so, we won’t see anything close to what his offense can do. Brighter days are ahead.
  19. I know It's probably way too early for this topic, but has anyone else noticed our tempo isn''t even close to what Frost did at UCF. No big surprise here as the team clearly isn't quite ready for WOT just yet, especially with the QB situation. Speed however is an area that is an absolute must for this offense and IMO we are somewhat deficient there. Not counting QBs, I only see 2 or 3 current skill position players who have the speed and skillset needed to optimize what this offense can do. Maybe it can be chalked up to the newness of the offense or players still playing tentative, but I noticed this as a glaring issue against Troy. I'm not worried because these will come with time, experience and the right recruits, but until then, the potential of this offense and therefore Frost's ability to show his true play calling talents will be quite limited. What say you?
  20. Love your confidence. I just don't think we're there yet mentally to pull that off. I hope I'm wrong though.
  21. Pretty disappointing if true. I've had high expectations for Farmer this year. That may explain Coache's comments post game. Come on Farmer. We need you to do better.
  22. It's called hope. We haven't had this kind of hope in years. Did anyone seriously think Callahan, Pelini or Riley was going to be around long term to turn this thing back into a powerhouse? Callahan and Pelini would have left for greener pastures as soon as we got good and their coaching stock went up. Riley was just too close to the end of his career when he started here. I think it is very possible Frost finishes out his career at Nebraska, or at least gives us 15-20 years. Building a foundation the right way takes time.
