  1. LOL.. Would be an EPIC prediction if it happens to be even remotely close though!!
  2. Nebraska 38 Northwestern 24 204 rushing yards 326 passing yards
  3. D'oh... I misread it.. My response would be.. monitor growth, monitor both perceived and unseen perceptions. A confidence was missing so work on that by installing it via conviction in the process. Reward when its necessary, Discipline when its needed. Recruiting the right minded athletes with the necessary skills. Constantly evaluate the staff and be not afraid of making a change if its needed. Ask the administration to be patient but give them reason to be so. Ask the fans to raise the program, honor the tradition, stand with the process while also explaining why they should and yes, if the administration, the fans and the athletes sense less than a change may be needed. Frost's proven he's doing these things and in so, recruiting is elevating, fans are supporting, athletes are responding. Hence the reason my optimism is so high!
  4. did I say that? No.. in fact, my original comment shows a positive reflection of what I feel is coming. My comment is: going 5-4 over the first 9 years is shameful. We should be and soon will be better than that. The rebuild is slow but the foundation is strengthening.
  5. I disagree.. I think your statement reads as though a top 25 finish roughly 50% of the time is ok. Personally, I think a top 25 should occur 100% of the time. Anything less is unacceptable. Hence why I think its shameful that we are only 5-4 against the purple peeps.
  6. Can't help saying this, the more glaring thing to me is.. we are 5-4 against them. who on this board thought we'd be 5-4 with northwestern 9 years into B1G conference play! IMO, shameful.. simply shameful but I also believe they're turning the corner and the huskers are rising. Finally!! (that is if the B1G doesn't B1G the program)
  7. Happy Voting Day to everyone.. Don't care who you vote for just hope you VOTE! Also, asking everyone to call their shot..

    Not which candidate wins but:

    1. Blow out for the winner

    2. To close to call tonight

    3. Split popular vote and electoral vote again

Personally, I think its both to close to call and a split thereby replicating 2016 results. Regardless, hoping everyone gets out and votes!!

  8. Sadly said. Iowa was only one of 2 other schools that joined us in our fight for fall sports. Iowa aligns well with our University Mindset. Iowa being strong pushes us to get stronger and lastly, Iowa being a neighboring state gives us a true rivalry. Rivalries are boring if one sided. I personally prefer a sound, well structured, real threat as a rivalry (ie.. Oklahoma). Just my opinion but still.
  9. Would love to have this young man but I just don't see him leaving the west coast. Not sure why but when I look at his profile pic I see California thru and thru! USC bound sadly
  10. and... I'm not sure how many "fans" even actually give this a thought. I know I don't.
  11. lol.. wait until its announced that Wisconsin is back practicing in preparation for the Purdue game. (before the 7 day shutdown) That is if any Wisconsin journalist has the gonads to publish it.
  12. I have a question. The B1G, in their infinite wisdom, put forth a voted on "rules to play" criteria that every university has to follow, yes? One of those rules is, "no out of conference games", yes? Then how is it the conference champion will be allowed to play outside of the conference if they are included in the playoff?
  13. I know everyone is upset with the decision by BA to cancel their game with us. Still, seeing the outbreak in Illinois now occuring I also think most of us are somewhat relieved that our boys won't be needlessly exposed.

Time to move on... Time to be thankful that are young men are safe... Time to focus on Northwestern and hopefully release some builtup frustrations. GBR!!!

The cancellation by Wisconsin, while disappointing, made sense at the time, and I get the safety aspects of it.  I am still disappointed the Big Ten didn't allow NU to schedule a make-up game.  Now is the time to be agile and creative to create opportunities for teams to play football.  The Big Ten is being the opposite of that.

I would need to see some/any proof that Illinois players acquired Covid due to playing Wisconsin before I think that is a valid concern.

I agree it is time to move on. However, I would like to remind everyone that Barry Alvarez was hugely involved, as the head of the B1G competition committee, in developing the s#!tshow rules that allow non red/red teams to choose to cancel games with no consequences. If anyone understood exactly how these rules could be gamed to a team’s advantage it was Barry. Not sure if it’s ironic or convenient that the Badgers just happened to be the first to employ this bulls#!t tactic.

  14. Very well stated.. My question however isn't our leadership but rather our membership. Seemingly, to be at least, the B1G has branded us not worthy and is at every turn showing how they feel. As i stated in a private message, if it was SF and Moos canceling for the exact reasons that BA canceled, the B1G pundits would be publicly calling Nebraska, our staff and our administrators cowards. I think, as it stands, Nebraska has but 2 allies in this conference. Ohio State & Iowa. Iowa because there is mutual respect and a healthy rivalry as well as proximity. Ohio State (as a result of their rivalry with Michigan and Michigan politics) because that university values tradition, competition, honesty and institutional independence. and lastly, sadly, politics as a whole. Ohio State and Nebraska align more closely politically then we do with any of the other states. Iowa, though mostly democrat is also very moderate and therefore one could say also fits in nicely with the politics of both tOSU and UNL. The rest, the rest will fight against institutional independence at every turn.
  15. I didn't say that but I (and you too) can assume they will be curfewed.
  16. Actually, Alvarez said last night that wisconsin has placed all the team members in a hotel in individual rooms. So.. yeah, they are heavily restricting them. Likely allowing them to workout but even that will be in very small groups I'd assume.
  17. I'm curious to see what the national pundits will say when Wisky actually takes the field next week against purdue. Will anyone of them have the courage to ask the question "you chose not to play Nebraska but decided to request approval to play Purdue", why and do you not see how this can be interrupted as A. disrespecting nebraska and B. a cowardness on the wisconsin program?
  18. I think everyone fully expects wisconsin to play next week already. When they do, then the conspiracies will fly. lol
  19. Here's a scary thought... What "if" all teams on our schedule that were against playing the season (tOSU, PSU and Iowa excluded as they favored playing) made a behind the door agreement to do a 7 day shutdown during their Nebraska week? Obviously that hasn't/didn't/won't happen but still... just saying.
  20. If being shocked that he included Cooper in the post is castigating (to criticize or reprimand severely. to punish in order to correct.) then ok. However, to post shock that he posted is in no way (IMO) castigating. I could be wrong though as I often find/learn that I am.
  21. Toe.. please don't slander me. You don't know me, you haven't privately reached out to me. You don't know my character nor my opinions on anything. Stating assumptions is just you being foolish. Be respectful without slanting your assumptions towards your hatreds.

  23. to not take the topic of the thread off target..

(this one you know) - I like the young turks for their left leaning view

(I am certain this is new to you) - Israeli New Live for their faith based news.
(not sure you'll know this one) - I also like Adam Green's KnowMoreNews (I think you'd like him too)

I don't respect Maddow any more than Hannity (both are hugely slanted mouth pieces) but I do like Tucker.

and... (shocker here), for my conservative side, I like Michael Savage. Have been a longtime subscriber to him.

I'm not a Trump guy nor am I a Bidden supporter. That said, had Bidden chose a moderate VP I'd have given him my vote. Currently I'm thinking Rand will receive my vote as both Trump and Bidden don't fit my pallet.

There's others but those are my favorites.

And you, whom do you listen too?

I follow several dozen small papers around the country. I feel like that gives me a better representation of the country as a whole rather than focusing on just the major outlets. So, papers like the Clarion Ledger, The Kenosha News, The Oregonian, stuff like that. Obviously the two local papers in Lincoln & Omaha. I also follow the local news stations in Lincoln & Omaha, and a few around the country, but not as much as the papers.

I also follow major outlets like ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and the NY Times, Washington Post, NPR, AP & Reuters, BBC North America, Salt Lake City Tribune, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Miami Herald, etc. I also follow several dozen reporters at most of these outlets, because sometimes they're quicker with the news than the overall publication.

I'm such a noob... this was meant to be a private message to knapplc... sorry for my unintended public response knapplc. It's all good though.

  24. first, I'm myself a Libertarian. Secondly, you chose to include his post... so, you did in fact consciously quote him.
