  1. For some reason I just don’t think he’ll be the #1 guy but I that’s just based of a hunch more than anything. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was the 3rd down back though since he’s probably the best at catching the ball and pass pro.
  2. I didn't listen to it but apparently on his radio show Damon Benning said that he doesn't think Grant will be RB1. I think he has previously indicated he thinks Ajay Allen will be more ready to play day 1 than Grant which is interesting. This should be one of the biggest position battles of fall camp.
  3. Yea we should obviously just recruit them to the 3-9 team that we are, would probably work so much better.
  4. Yea that's exactly what I'm saying, you don't need to look at your book to know you're full.
  5. She also said it was because the host took one look at them and told them they were full without looking at his book. I mean it seems fairly obvious to me that if you're full you probably don't need to look at your table list every time somebody walks in, you probably know... Then she went on tweeting stuff like "we know ya'll don't want us here", like what is she talking about? But just the day before she tweeted about going to Muchachos and being "treated like royalty"...
  6. Yant wasn't exactly your typical walk-on IIRC. He wasn't exactly highly rated but I believe he was a 3 star recruit out of FL and the main reason he didn't have a lot of offers was academic concerns.
  7. Jimari Butler letting it slip that Yant is RB1 and is going to be an absolute beast. Or maybe he’s just hyping his buddy but what’s the fun in that.
  8. He wasn't the most liked player but that dude had a hell of a career.
  9. Yea, I'm not quite ready to buy stock in him yet.
  10. Just read Sipple’s highlights from his interview with coach Fisher.. Holy cow I almost forgot how many new guys we brought in. I have now idea who the starters are going to be but we should be deep. Early guess would be Hill and Newsome as starting corners with Clark being your 3rd guy. Safeties is much harder to decipher. I thought Farmer would be penciled in as a starter but Fisher said it’s a “huge summer for him to improve”. My pick for starters is Farmer and Singleton with Omar Brown getting some run and Buford as well whether it’s at safety or nickel. I’m excited to read about the position battles at DB during fall camp. No mention of Taymun Lynum or Tyreke Johnson (no surprise there). Overall we should be in good shape on the back end for the next few years.
  11. You're right we weren't terrible on offense, pretty good actually. We just weren't good where it matters most, scoring points. And quite frankly our field position sucked half the time and when you're offense consistently has to go further down the field it's just more time to make a turnover or a drive killing penalty. There's plenty of blame to go around nonetheless.
  12. Obviously we all hope the offense improves but hopefully this allows Frost to be a better head coach. He's had so much on his plate I can think of numerous times where there's been some major clock management fails or having to use timeouts in situations that you shouldn't have had to use them. Frost not having to worry about calling plays should be a great benefit to this team.
  13. Burroughs looking to get into coaching?
  14. Yea, I don't think there is any reason we should have to go more than 500 miles to recruit a good offensive lineman. And this is not a statement that I think we should recruit more Nebraska kids, as I think we are doing a good job in that regard now. But I would love if somebody could breakdown the % of kids from Nebraska that ended up either starting or providing meaningful depth vs the rest. I would guess that at least 50-75% of in state scholarship kids end up as meaningful contributors. I could also be way off base with that but I'd say our "hit" rate is much higher with the kids that are closer to home.
  15. In another 10 years one school will start b!^@hing that something isn't fair and schools won't be able to get along and these super conferences will implode haha.
  16. Damn, was excited for him I thought he might be a guy that could have a breakout year. Fortunately he’s probably much easier to replace than either of the tackles and we do have some depth at the position.
  17. Kind of odd that two DE cancelled their visits the same weekend. Maybe Noonan decided to lock up his spot and they like they're chances with Lenhardt and want to put the full press on him?
  18. We are loaded with young talent in the RB room. I'm sure there's a good chance a couple guys move on once they see where they're at in the pecking order but RB seems like a position where they don't have to take somebody unless it's a guy they really like.
  19. Is On3 targeting Husker fans? It seems like they've got a lot of our prospects rated much higher than everyone else.
  20. Yea one thing we’ve struggled to do since he’s been here is just simply get off to a good start, build some confidence and relieve some of the pressure. Feels like this is the year we could finally do that if just take care of business in Ireland.
  21. I won't lie, this is one I'm not really high on. He definitely has the frame but will be a multi-year project which is ok. I wonder if they are recruiting him as a guard or tackle, as he doesn't seem to have the quickest feet. With all that said he'll probably end up an All-American.
