  1. If I see another 3 person pass rush I am going to lose whats left of my mind. Attack!
  2. I am very new to this. However, I am almost 100% sure Barrett McDonald from Millard South accepted a scholarship offer from the Air Force Academy. It was posted November 8th on his father's Facebook acct and Barrett's Twitter acct. I don't know why it hasn't been posted anywhere. I spoke with him (my nephew). He took an official visit and the coaches visited with him in his home. If I am incorrect, I am sorry for the post but he is really looking forward to this experience and playing for the Falcons. I don't know how to link things for you all to verify. Sorry.
  3. At the 3 second point, I would love to have a wallpaper made of that. That is great. Can anyone do that?
  4. Gillylen is going to get lost in any rotation. I have nothing against him but he honestly seems lost at wide out. He has below average hands, not a really good blocker, and his route running is terrible. Maybe putting him somewhere else will help him out. He hasn't gotten a lot of playing time, and that is for a reason. His play isn't warranting it and others have passed him by.

    WOW

Up in stands right now. 70-30 split is pretty close. We have shown up. Hopefully we will bring the noise.
  6. Just a quick glance and it seems like Hawaii did the best (1 out of 40,625). Texas was like 1 out of 58,000 and Florida was 1 in 52,000. I didn't look at all the states but Hawaii stood out.
  7. I went and looked up the stats. 4 tackles, 2 for loss and 4 QB hurries. Not to mention we held them to 259 total yards on offense. I don't think Suh was dominated. That is a good game for a DT, maybe not dominating but still very good. Plus I was thinking the same thing when the announcer said that. He said he dominated Suh. Give me a break.
  8. man eating mastadon has it correct. We should not shy away from anyone. Perfect opportunity for us to show where the program is headed. Man up!!
  9. Just two things: There were really only 3 penalties (not 4). The 2nd holding call was completely bogus. It was a cruddy block (pushing in the back after he was soundly beaten). Thus we still should have had a FG try. If you see the flag flying in, it was by the LINESMAN. The LINESMAN. Holy bejesus. Second thing: I think Watson called the same play (the play action, roll right with the same exact routes) about 10 times. Worked once. Once. When they broke coverage one Curenski's lone catch. By the way, his route running sucks. Other than that, I really look forward to the rest of the year. I do sincerely believe we can go at least 9-3. Go Huskers!
  10. I (unfortunately) live down in Sooner country. I have a chance to listen to the sports talk radio almost daily on my way to work. They are extremely confident. To tell you the truth, lately, they have a right to be. The only way we will be able to shut them up is to beat them. Their main concern is the loss of there top recievers. They are going to be very tough again (Bradford and a couple others return that were thinking about the Pros but decided to come back). Personally, I would love to take them down a notch and think we have an outside shot, but we lose a lot of offensive weapons as well. Go Huskers!
  11. I agree. I have never, ever heard radio broadcasters apologize for the product they are seeing on the field. You can generally hear the disgust in their voices.
  12. I am sorry but I can't get into the "second favorite team" thing. Its Nebraska or nothing. Sure I will root for an underdog or for a team to win when it helps us, but that is about it. I am currently stationed in OK and have been listening to the Talk Radio (640) and I am embarrassed for us. Quotes like "the Cornhuskers are bad, simply bad" or "I can't believe that they hired Callahan in the first place" or "If I told you 10 years ago that the Cornhuskers would have the worst defense in the Big XII you would have thought I was crazy". Oh, there are alot more. Almost all of the radio hosts don't think we have a chance to win another game let alone beat OSU this week. They went so far as to thank us for getting Keller or OU would probably have him starting and Bradford holding his helmet. (By the way, I still think Keller is very good, Oline problems).
  13. I am repeating what I said in a previous post so forgive me. Callahan and the defensive minds must have come together in the middle of last week to discuss their strategy for the Missouri game I presume. Then I assume Cosgrove takes front stage and discusses what they plan to do for the upcoming game. At any point in time during this process wouldn't you think Callahan would stand up a say "Please, give me something better than this. Is this the best you can do"? I would have listened for a couple minutes and put an absolute stop to that crappy game plan. How can you basically play a prevent defense for the ENTIRE game? Players out of their natural position, no aggressive calls, etc. Did they honestly think that strategy would work? Never in the history on mankind has that type of game plann won a game. It was like watching Missouri running the 2 minute offense against a team that was up by 20 and just didn't want to give up the BIG play. Well, they certainly had enough of those. I have been watching football long enough to know that you must, I repeat must put pressure on the offensive team by any means possible. Rushing 3 players (a couple linebackers at times) is not going to cut it. Any QB in College could have picked our defense apart. Hell, I could've and I am 44 years old and have bad knees. We have hundreds and hundreds of hours of practice during the year and this is the best product we can put forth? I really feel sorry for the DBs. I really feel that they could make some plays if the QBs would be under more pressure.
  14. One last reply before my head explodes. With all the practice time from spring ball to fall to weekly and whatever else, why can't we come up with a better defensive package? I mean that must be over 2 to 3 hundred hours of on field practice. This is absolutely amazing to me. Does Cosgrove think are players are idiots and can't understand more than those basic defenses? They are in college for crying out loud! Let them learn! Blitz from different angles, show some aggresiveness, play some man on man and become men. They didn't come here to have teams run up and down the field on them and humiliate them. I am tired of this and I am sure the players are even thought they can't publicly admit it. One day of practice (30 minutes) and if I was a player I could tell that that defensive scheme was going to suck big time. I am sorry I am ranting like a little high school kid. I just love my Huskers too much to seem them put into this situation (over priced defensive coaches and a head coach who seems not to see what is transpiring during the game). I am done...
  15. Sorry for the typos. I am so angry right now.
  16. What the hell kind of defense was that. I could've played QB for Missouri tonight and threw for 400 yards. I don't know what to think. When Cosgrove is putting together a game plan and Callahan has meetings with him what the hell are they thinking? How many times did they get over 10 yards on a play? Lets do something. We sit back and just freakin take it all night long. If I was a defensive player and had about 1 day or two practicing that scheme I would about throw up. All the teams that are going to play us are licking their chops wondering what magnificent game plan we will draw up for them. Maybe next time we can rush 2 players and give up 15 yards per play. Is Cosgrove wanting to be fired? Is any body watching or listening to the fans? I will support the Huskers forever but this is getting absurd. If I did my job even close to as bad as Cosgrove and the defensive staff I would be out the door the next day. We can better for a lot less money who would be willing to give some fire and effort to the cause. I am amazed at this situation. 41 to freakin 6. Accountability.
  17. Go for it. Call a better play. Misdirection or something different than what we were doing all day long. Play action pass. Did we run the same play every time on third and short? Does Keller have the green light to change a play at the line of scrimmage? They had their whole team lineup up there everytime on third and short and we did nothing, i repeat nothing, to counter this. Wake Forest was ripe for 2 or 3 huge plays in those situations throughout the day. We were really vanilla today. I don't like to rip BC (I think he is doing very well) but the play calling after we scored our last touchdown today was not on par with his better games.
  18. I agree with FriscoTXHskr. I doesn't matter at this point as long as we somehow beat USC.
  19. I was initially dismayed by some of our defensive display today but I look back on it and I really am not going to blame Cosgrove. The two deep passes we were in good coverage with the exception of one guy (our deep safety). The players have to make plays. The linebackers have to get off blocks. Plain and simple and on those outside running plays they were basically being shielded and not getting the job done. Cosgrove can't go out and make shed blocks or make tackles for them. I was also dumbfounded by our apparent lack of ingenuity on offense today. I don't remember having a counter or reverse play all day long. I bet we could have picked up 15/20 yards a couple times on those short 3rd downs by handing the ball off to Lucky and having Nunn or Purify come back around. Not only would it get first downs it would also loosen up the defense for later plays. I don't get it. The only reason I could see not doing it is so USC wouldn't see it, but we have to take care of one game at a time. Where are the screen passes or passes in the flat to Lucky or God forbid, a fullback (who would be soooooo wide open). The only good that comes out of this is that we win and are undefeated. We do need to get much better.
  20. I had forgotten how dominate Ahman was. Holy smoke!
  21. This could work. I have been thinking about a Triple A league ever since I heard about this. This would be my plan. 15 teams, 3 divisions. Made up of conferences broken down like this: Division 1 2 ACC teams (Tallahassee and Blacksburg), 2 SEC teams (Baton Rouge and Auburn), 1 Big East (Louisville) Division 2 2 Big 12 teams (Lincoln and OKCity), 2 Big 10 teams (East Lansing and State College) 1 Independent and Mid American team (South Bend) Division 3 2 Pac 10 teams (LA and Eugene), 1 Conference USA (Hattisburg), 1 Mountain West (Provo) and 1 WAC (Boise City) Each of the teams would have designated schools they could choose players from (for instance Lincoln would have the Big XII North teams, OK City would have Big XII South teams, etc.) Each team would play 2 games against their division rivals and 2 games for each of the other divisions making a total of 12 games. The 3 division winners and 1 wild card making the playoffs. Maximum salary for any one player would be $50,000 (of course a salary cap as well). I'm telling you this would work. College atmosphere with a league just below the NFL. NFL scouts would then get to see a lot of players they wouldn't normally see get good reps. I can't see a downside with this.
  22. 1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? Since the late 60's 2) What/who led you to the Nation? Don't know. Never liked anyone else and everyone was a Husker fan. 3) Where are you from originally? Imperial, Nebraska 4) Where do you live now? Vance AFB, Oklahoma (Enid) 5) Favorite Husker memory? Watching the Huskers play against UCLA (Rozier's run was originally coming right at me) 6) Worst Husker memory? Having a huge party on the night we lost to Washington in the early 90's. 7) Number of home games attended? 5 8) Number of away games attended? 3 (Two in the 90's against OSU, and the Big XII championship game this year) 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? Old Husker candle from the 1971 Championship season. 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? Doesn't matter as long as I am with friends. 11) Favorite all-time player? Hard choice! Probably Johnny Rodgers 12) WCO or Option? Option (Still think it would work with the right players, Osborne players) 13) Steve Pederson or Billy Byrne? Pederson 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? Herbie by far. Not even close. 15) Favorite Husker play? The ol' wingback inside reverse (it always worked) No one runs it anymore. 16) Favorite game day beverage? A good cold brew. Preferably a hefeweizen. 17) How did you find the Husker board? I can't remember. I think a search about Nebraska Recruiting through Yahoo.
  23. NU fan in Denver, That is the first I have heard anyone say anything about that play. How in the hell was that a catch? He hit the ground, went unconcious and the ball flew out. At the very least Callahan should have challenged that play. How did they not review that call. That was an important play. Instead of scoring a TD they probably kick a field goal, we do not try a fake punt and the game goes a different direction. I thought that was an unbelievable call which would have easily been overturned. My opinion I guess.
