  1. Great thread. I'm in support of Riley. Just wanted to add some more perspective. Some players reaction [media] [media/]
  2. I know Riley coached against him when he was DL at USC for a few years. When Orgeron took over for Lane Kiffin, Coach O beat Riley 31-14 in 2013. Not sure if this is accurate, but after the game Orgeron said "Good game fer SC...Hard bought bootball game out dare...mmHmm...Coarch Riley got dare a good bootball progrum...team...an uh...he good of a man....but now we dun wit dat....got sum crootin still to do... fixin to make a cubble of telephone calls"
  3. Will he be involved with the future non con games schedules?
  4. When you think about it, that's pretty cool of him to communicate his trail. He is using social media to alert the fan base. I mean, the Head Football Coach of Nebraska tweeting and passing on information? Pretty cool, pretty cool indeed
  5. Congrats and best wishes for Bo
  6. I still can't cipher this out. Sounds like a Beaver man.
  7. Sounds like a Beaver. Or he could be getting his name out there with some positivity hoping that Riley calls him. I mean, I think he would be happy with a hefty Nebraska pay raise. Having said that, who knows lol
  8. Thanks Paulie... Maybe the imaginary sky is not falling, after all
  9. FYI That link is speculation. The title states "Defensive coordinator in place?". There is no announcement mentioned, and nothing confirmed.
  10. Mike Riley said there is an uncertainty with a new coach and that it takes time to build up the trust. He was speaking in regards to the team, but it seems it carries over to the fan base as well. He understands all this and I have no doubt he will do his best to gain everyone's trust and hopefully support along the way. I am in full support of Riley. He has a different plan of action. He talks about working hard, discipline, teaching, opportunity and support. He brought over 4 guys or so that he trusts because they are on the same page with him, and he believes they are good people that know what they are coaching about. He still needs to round up the rest of the staff, but I think the ones they have right now are already out there recruiting the best they can. He also talks about recruiting and how much work they need to do. He doesn't know this team. He'll probably watch film and then continue to evaluate with hands on approach. I think this is a great time for the Husker team to come together and compete, regardless if you are a returning starter or nephew or son of a coach. He also talks about learning lessons when you win and when you lose. He is constantly trying to teach and provide support and help these student athletes along the way towards post-college football. And if he understands history, tradition and the importance of walkons as he says, then that tells me he wants to work with all the players to determine who can help this team win. He mentions how important the quarterback position is - the most important. He has said he doesn't ask players to do something they are not good at, but makes adjustments to utilize them that benefits their strengths. I only know what I see on him in videos and articles. I think he is more than just a good guy. I think he is an experienced coach, a teacher, and a football lifer. I am glad he is here and I believe he will be successful. And I believe the players will respond better. And all the talent on this team will finally show consistency and become the team they are capable of. If you are divided or against him, I will try to understand, but ultimately I hope y'all can muster up a little bit of trust as a starting point and go from there. It's a new beginning.
  11. There is really good talent on this team. I think that record is doable. I categorize our opponents it in a group of 3. I always do. Biggest Challenge: Wisconsin, Michigan State (??) Good competition teams: at Miami, BYU, Minnesota, Northwestern, Iowa (3-2 or 4-1) Fluff: South Alabama, Southern Miss, Illinois, Purdue, Rutgers (5-0) Wouldn't you agree with the talent we have plus the new leadership in command that it's possible to scrape up 8-9 wins? I also am very excited to see how we do in those big games. I know what we've done in the past. Since the hiring of Mike Riley, I am in full support and encouraged that we can be more competitive in those games. Maybe even come away with a split? Because that is the new hope and excitement that I have these days.
  12. ...and that should be completely unacceptable If that happens. 9 wins (or more) next year. NO EXCUSES. It is just as likely for Bo to get us 7 wins next season. Losses: BYU with their freak QB back, Miami, Mich St, Wisconsin, Minny, NW or Iowa. Do I expect it to happen? No I sure don't but it isn't impossible without Gregory or Ameer on our roster I don't think the BYU QB is a "freak" anymore....he broke his leg and probably won't be in the game next year If that happens then a win against BYU becomes much more likely. Rehab is 6 months which started a month ago. Taysom Hill has said he expects to be fully healthy and ready to go full speed when fall practices start. He's also had a previous injury before which has helped him a lot mentally while rehabbing this current one. He also denied reports of ligaments shattered, and confirmed his leg was broken. He'll be ready to go. Will be a big test for Huskers, new coach or former. Taysom Hill can say all he wants about being ready in the fall. I have no doubt he believes he will be ready. Most likely he will play, but you don't come back from that sort of an injury and just automatically have your A game. That was a real ugly injury. By the way how do you know BYU is going to be so great next year even with Hill? Most all you guys know about BYU is that they are Mormans and have beat Texas bad 2 years in a row. Living in Idaho I have watched them quite a few times. They were pretty good with Hill, but very average without him. He was basically their whole offense. I just don't see him playing like that on that leg that soon. That makes sense. After hearing that, I would not disagree with your BYU knowledge. I saw BYU play on TV 5 or 6 times in the past few years. They were fun to watch at times. Saw them both times against Texas, once against Houston and that Utah State game and UCF. I can't remember the few other games the year before. But you are right, there is a Night and Day difference without Hill. I know he was way better running than throwing. But he was also very competitive and they were tough to stop once they got going (offense). So if he's healthy, he's a pretty good player. So I give him proper credit.

  14. You are really good at this, thank you!
  15. Yeah, it's just so easy that everyone does it. Merry Christmas saunders! Merry Christmas saunders! Merry Christmas Hunter!
  16. I don't think that is the reason, but I do appreciate the conversation. And allowing me to speak my piece, since I feel a little offended that TCU did not do enough this year. Cheers Woody Although now I wished I really had a beer. Go Buckeyes

  18. I understand where they ended the season. Can you answer why there are polls at the beginning of the year that get updated each week? I remember the promo when TCU was playing #4 Oklahoma. Was that a misprint? Where they not #4 and undefeated at that time? Does Vegas and Bettors look at rankings early on the season? Do coaches and media not vote who is ranked during a season? Is it all a lie??
  19. OHhhhhhh Woody...... LOL.... You're so full of baloney Not sure what you are drinking, but I appreciate your spirits. Bottom line, your team apparently did enough, and TCU did not. Congrats. Sooo Go Buckeyes! <cough, "OSU HAS a top-10 win. TCU doesn't." cough>
  20. Truthfully I really don't know. I will lean on Imani since he is the SR. But I don't see him remaining the starter after a few weeks. Also, from the few snaps I saw of Nelson, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. It's like that Family Guy promo "I don't know what it is, but you have got, it"
