  1. Martinez has been an atrocious running QB since his sophomore season. He runs up to defensive players like a kid running to his parents after coming home from a 4 week summer camp. He stands up just as he's about to be hit, which makes it even worse. He needs to never play QB again. I lol'd, thanks. Sometimes the truth is funny.
  2. Would be fine with Frost here as well.
  3. I have no problem with what he said. He may be on to something.
  4. 10. maybe Taco John's ? (Just 1 in Florida, 3 in Texas, 0 in California & Oklahoma)
  5. OK but remember we blew a few games last year then went on a really good run. So if we suck on Saturday (hope we don't ) that is not a sign that we will suck for two more months. Good point. LOL no, no we won't suck on Saturday. And yes that two month run was amazing.
  6. Good question, not sure if it helps/hurts either team. I think the 11AM kickoff will probably make a slight difference. In recent memory, I just don't recall the Huskers having a good showing on offense during 11AM games. Usually they are sluggish for awhile. Unless I'm just losing my mind lol.
  7. My only concern in regards to the impact of this game may or may not make a difference when we go to the Big House in Ann Arbor. And/or when a really good Northwestern team comes to Lincoln. And/or when we go to Happy Valley, see a white out, and play a solid Penn State team. In other words, I would love to see us get the victory against UCLA. I am just skeptical of a roller-coaster performance down the road when we play those teams mentioned that could overshadow a good victory over the Bruins. Know what I mean? Other than my slight skepticism, I really liked the write up EZ, and hope the impact of this game will be the beginning of good things to come. I will trust you on this.
  8. Didnt target anyone and I certainly didnt intentionally "steal anyone's thunder." So I don't see the significance of The Dude's backhanded comment. People that have read my posts in the past know that I do long posts from time to time. TSchu, do your write up. I'm sure we have different views. I'm mostly just messin' man. Some of your views are identical to mine though. Great minds think alike I don't care what any of you people write. I'm planning on writing something up, and I'm going to do it based solely on my available time. You write yours, tschu, EZ wrote his, and I'll write mine. If ten guys write something up, that's ten more things to read than we usually have, aside from the regular-schmegular stuff we always talk about. I pretty much guarantee mine won't be like anyone else's. Hope you write one up too. I would be interested to hear your take.
  9. I hope you do one. I'd read it.
  10. What they will probably do with Hundley is use motion, throw short crossing routes, belly passes, and swing tosses to the RB. Since we play nickel with 2 hi, they won't attack the middle much. To keep us honest, they might try to stretch the field on mid-deep sideline passes. That way if they over throw it it goes out of play. We will pick that stuff off in the middle of the field if they try it. It should be a good chess match. This is our third game. It's been circled for some time. I just have to believe our coaches will have our new, young talented defense prepared and up for the challenge.
  11. Just an observation. UCLA and WYO's reliable chain movers both have cool, unusual names and wear #33. Manfro and Rufran. Sounds like a 70's band.
  12. As soon as we got push-pressure into the backfield, Hundley would dump a swing pass to the RB for positive yards. He has the ability to move the chains with his legs. And he will take shots downfield. But most throws were in the flat. He's going to be tough. I think this year's Husker D is more talented, physical and quicker then what he saw last year though.
  13. One dept must be short on cash. Because the Boilermaker has people legs. Like, real human legs.
  14. I'm leaning towards us winning as well. Won't be shocked if we don't, but I do like our chances. Per Coach Mora, they are at their best when they have running room and can run the ball. So it looks like it's going to come down to how we defend them, and if they can shake up our offense as well, and force turnovers. I'm hopeful our team will be ready for whatever they throw at us.
  15. A win would be great. Consistency is needed even more. No more roller-coaster seasons hopefully. I got my hopes up.
  16. These are a couple of my favorites from ESPN, if I saw Beth Mowins and Joey Galloway I would've watched the game on mute These are a couple of my favorites from ESPN, if I saw Beth Mowins and Joey Galloway I would've watched the game on mute Lol. Pretty much same here.
  17. Tragic. Just feel awful to hear that. Prayers and thoughts to his family, friends and teammates.
  18. Vegas says UCLA doesn't have a good as shot as Nebraska. what is the early line? Started at Nebraska -4, I think it's up to -5.5 Not sure but it might be considered a payback/revenge edge. Seems to happen more than not. Unfortunately, the same goes against us VS Michigan State, Northwestern and Penn State this year. Regardless, I like our chances. Should be a close game.
  19. lol y'all are fast with the keyboard - football fast!
  20. Thanks that's awesome. Went to Btn2go and looks like it's on an Alt channel for ATT. http://btn.com/2013/09/06/heres-how-to-find-your-football-game-look-now/
  21. On the flip side of it, I do agree he's not a true MLB. Just one with the most game experience.
  22. I'm not about to throw the towel in on Santos. Playing MLB or not, there was no other true LB next to him. Playing dime the whole game is not an ideal game plan. I would like to see how Santos does with another true LB next to him in the box. Sure, drop one into short-mid range coverage as needed. It's not like WYO or other teams send 4 receivers 20+ yards downfield. Defend the run, help with pass. Let them make plays fast and physical. KISS Keep It Simple Stupid
  23. Fo'rizzle my Bruin Nizzle. Show some respect:
  24. Oh wow....lucky duckies. In Dallas/Fort Worth between mid May and late Sept, it usually doesn't drop below a hot 90 before 10pm. Unusual kickoff time, but the Huskers will be fine Saturday.
