  1. Im just thinking back to the Texas game from last year. There was a point in that game that everyone in Nebraska thought we were going to take that game. I was at Barry's bar watching the game and I'll tell you what it was crazy! From what I heard the Stadium was freakin crazy also! I actually thought we would win that game and they would come down then. I wouldn't be suprised if they came down if we win! IMO it depends on the type of game. If we won on a last second field goal or TD or if we had a goal line stand or somethign of that nature, I believe the crowd would be pumped enough to do it!
  2. New front 7? WTF are you talking about? So apparently our starting lbs are going to be newcomers? LOL!!! Apparently Hunter thinks McKeon, and Ruud/Octo. will loose their starting spots this year! Pay attention!!!
  3. Look guys lets face it. Our lb play last year was tainted by the fact that our secondary was very weak. Our lbs were constantly trying to help our secondary. We need to improve our secondary play this year so that our lbs can be more aggressive, and can "free lance" to a certain degree. If we have improved secondary play, we will be able to use man-to-man coverage more often thus freeing up our lbs.
  4. 951, you are talking about guys that played LB at 205, over 10 years ago!!! Its not 1995! I am willing to take any bet that Culbert will not be playing LB. He was recruited for the secondary and he will stay there. I have never once heard the coaches mention anything about there even being a chance to move him to LB.
  5. Look all you have to do is push the button to get a drink!
  6. Oops I meant good size for his height!
  7. I just don't think they'll take a 5'11 guy with good speed and try and add 25 lbs to him. I think that would slow him down quite a bit. He already has good size for his size. I dont think you can get 25lbs of muscle added to him.
  8. Farmer maybe the will move Grixby to DT
  9. No way are they going to move Culbert to LB he is needed in the secondary, and he doesnt have the size to play LB. Not even close!
  10. Im glad we won, but we got very lucky. Perry shouldn't have thrown up a one legged prayer. He is a senior and has to realize in that situation you need a better shot.
  11. As it turns out, addidas gives the university apparel because it is cheap advertisement for them.
  12. Does anyone know anything? I havent been able to find anything about this. All I know is that the appeal didnt work and the next step was to file a lawsuit. Other than that I know nothing. Is it possible to still get this guy in here for next year?
  13. 10.53 100 time? Holy crap thats moving!
  14. The Pack could use Carriker for sure. However, we could also use some guys on the O-line and some recievers! Hard to tell what GB will do in the first round.
  15. I would tend to believe that Brandon Johnson is a lock at one of the DT positions. He is 6-3 315 and runs a 4.8 40. He is a JC transfer, that redshirted last year but has gotten a ton of praise. I could be wrong, but would be very suprised if he didnt start.
  16. Coyeote, so are you going to tell me that all the top notch Defenses that are now in the NFL were not fast in the mid to late 90's when a lot of these players were in college? Get real! Im not begging for the option back, i just think its insane for people to say that defenses these days are way to fast in college, for the option to work. My god look at some of the top pro-bowlers in the NFL. They were players in the 90's when NU's option thrived. But I guess they arent fast, are they. Thats why all the rookies have came in the NFL since 2000 and made an instant impact and displaced the veterens in the NFL! Get a clue!
  17. As I have said in a previous thread, if you watched the greatest ever match-ups on ESPN rescently, Barry Switzer said it would work for sure! As HANC just said, if you recruit top notch athletes to run the option, the system will work. I dont think it matters what system is in place, if you have the athletes, and the right coach to run the system, it will be effective. Switzer did say that his Wishbone would not be as effective today, but that if he were to go back to coaching college football, he would coach Osbornes style of option football that was ran in the 90's. Im not bagging on B.C. or anything, just think that had Solich been able to recruit the right players, the option still could be effective. Dont tell me that there wasnt speed on defense like there is today, because many of todays top NFL players are from the mid to late 90's college teams, proving that there is was just as much speed then as there is in todays college game!
  18. If anyone watched the greatest team ever brackets on ESPN rescently, Barry Switzer actually said that he thought the Option attack could still be sucessful in college football. He said that he wouldn't run the wishbone, but if he were to coach college again, as in TODAY, he would run the T.O. based option. He said it doesnt matter how sophisticated defenses have gotten, that when teams blitz, they would get burned by the option. He stated that it is all about getting the right players for the system, period. Bring in the right athletes for the system and it will work, no matter what type of offense you run. Dont get me wrong, I am happy with what we are trying to do now, but do miss the option, and have to believe that if we were able to get the right athletes during the Solich days, the system still could have been a good one!
  19. I have a good buddy that went to UNK years ago at 6-6 about 225, and came out weighing 270. He didnt hit the weights real hard in highschool, and they know exactly what to have those guys eat that will give them weight gain. Its all about getting the most ammount of protien when you are hitting the weight room.
  20. I parked downtown southwest of the Haymarket and walked to Barry's for the game. The game had just started and on Texas's second possession I started to walk. I could hear the crowd yelling all the way down there. I thought to my self holy crap that must be loud! How great it is to be a Husker Fan!
  21. Ok Bleed_Red im gonna have to ask you to change ur name now! I mean people are gonna confuse us for sure! LOL!
