  1. Who was more pathetic tonight...Texas Rangers or FSU?

    1. GSG

      GSG

The way FSU lost was pathetic, but they were at least in position to win!

HAHAHA Rangers!!!!! Now my Yankees just need to get Cliff Lee so that will never happen again!

Gotta go with the Rangers on this one. It's the World Series. Come on!

  2. Utah is the worst of the unbeatens. Oregon is the best of the unbeatens with Boise second. The rest are all mishmashed in between.
  3. Gabbert has to have the better game. The problem is that I think he has improved enough as a passing weapon and their running game has improved...while our defense is not as good as last year. As long as Martinez doesn't turn the ball over he will be OK. To me this game comes down to if the Blackshirts can rise to the occasion and lock down the #6 team in the country. We have to eliminate third down conversions. If Misery consistently moves it on drives we will have a tough time winning. That's why our defense must force Gabbert into a bad game. No way Bo is putting this game on his freshman QB...he is putting it on the Blackshirts to prove they can execute what they need to do to beat the best opponent we have played to date.
  4. Welcome, Taariq! I'd like to see another solid WR pick-up in this class.
  5. Don't like this game for us and I picked Misery in the contest crib. Gabbert is good under no pressure and we don't have the D-Line to pressure him so he will make enough passing yards to keep drives going for them. Also, their defense seems better then in recent memory and our offense is still a work in progress. The key is going to be if the Blackshirts can stop their offense.
  6. and the bitterness persists... ...Trevor will enjoy his ND degree, monster alumni network, and high paying job post-graduation I'm sure. Yea I know.... And this changes that their football team sucks...how?
  7. Hate to do this but Misery is playing better ball than us right now. I think Gabbert has improved and our defense has regressed. Our offense can't quite overcome them in the end. Ugh. Misery 34 NU 31 Air 266 Ground 184
  8. LB Kent Turene is soft verbal to USC and still interested in NU. He has stated he will still take other visits.
  9. This kid has left the door open. Let's get him at a major need position. USC...really? See USC Sucks...Who Can We Steal? Rivals has teaser on USC checking in on him...listed as Soft Verbal. We need this kid to visit. From Husker Journal: OCTOBER 24, 2010. MESSAGE BOARDS KENT TURENE, LB, 6-3, 230, LAUDERDALE LAKES (BOYD ANDERSON), FLORIDA “I like the environment the school is academically solid,” says the USC commit. “That’s important to me to get a great education.” Turene said Likes The West Coast Weather “I’ve been to Miami. In Florida it’s real humid but in California it’s a total different environment. The weather is great it’s 70 degrees year round. It’s just feels a comfortable place where I can be.” Turene said “I’ve always been a Monte Kiffin fan since I was a little kid. I just grew up watching great USC linebackers. I could be one of them; I want to keep on the tradition.” Turene said “I like the players at USC. How much people love USC just the support they have there. USC wants you to be successful on and off the field.” Turene said To Take Other Visits “Schools have not backed off about 15 schools called me in a two week period. I’m still looking at other visits to see how everything is.” Turene said Huskers Still In It “I like Nebraska I’m still looking at them. They’re having a great year. Coach Pelini is a great defensive minded coach. He’s had one of the best defenses in the country the past seasons. I’m just looking forward seeing the program.” Turene said “I talk to Coach Tim Beck (NU) he’s trying to get me to visit them. I probably will. Coach Beck said I can come in and make it huge for them and become a premiere player at their school. I’m a need for Nebraska right now.” Turene said Interested In LSU “I would like to visit LSU also. I like their defensive coach John Chavis he’s the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. Coach Billy Gonzales said they need me real bad he recruited me when he was at Florida. He just wants me to come in and make a different.” Turene said
  10. Actually this game confirmed a lot about stuff I already knew: TMart can throw it. We have zero pass rush. Our run D is fairly weak. Our O line is inconsistent. Kick-off coverage is poor. Martin is a beast on special teams. Henery is always clutch. Paul can be clutch. We tackle sloppy. Catch the ball and hold onto the ball, and we will win. Couple of new things: Reed is a legitimate threat in the passing game. Gimme some Yoshi and he did alright.
  11. I am shocked at how poorly Notre Dame has played this year. Any recruiting battles we currently have with them? Looking at their recruits they have a ton of DE's...I am counting six in their class. There are 3 recruits in Ohio that we could make a play for with our move to the Big 10. LB Jarrett Grace DE Brad Carrico DB Eilar Hardy DB Jalen Brown from Texas holds a Husker offer already.
  12. We have got to find a pass rush between now and Saturday. The only way we beat Misery is to pressure and sack Gabbert. If we don't get to Gabbert, we don't win...plain and simple.
  13. We are at the top of his list and think he could be our next commit. I sure hope we land this kid.
  14. Under Over/Under Niles Paul 3 catches
  15. Saw the Oregon-UCLA game. On one hand it was sad because this pathetic UCLA team beat Texas. On the other had, no way we are close to MNC...Oregon would crush us. I like our defense and we do that better than Oregon but we are a poor man's Oregon on offense...and I don't really think the issue is TMart. The Oregon QB is not a stellar passer or faster than TMart. He just has ALL DAY to throw behind his O-Line and has WR's that are quite good (two luxuries TMart does not have). And then he has a Heisman weapon out of the backfield. And they are conditioned, up tempo, and NOT sloppy. Oregon can put a number of QB's in their system and they will do quite well. No doubt an Oregon offense with an NU defense would be a title contender every year. It is an extreme no brainer to bring Scott Frost back to NU. Oregon is giving us a picture of what we need to do on offense and then just tweak to our personnel. I like our O-Line recruiting. I like TMart and Jamal Turner running this style offense. Aaron Green, come on down. WR's...we need to grab some playmakers in a major way. Also, how about using the TE again!
  16. From Husker Journal: DAGAN REED, RB, 5-11, 200, 4.5, OVERLAND PARK (ST. THOMAS AQUINAS), KANSAS “I just have just one offer and that’s from Nebraska. I’m not hearing much from others schools.” Reed said “I’ve been to Nebraska before my brother plays for them now. I don’t know if I’m going there I’m going to give it some more time.” Reed said “I haven’t heard from Nebraska for awhile now, I know they were recruiting me as a defensive back player.” Reed said
  17. Never felt good about this game all season. We are playing sloppier than ever. Still a trap. NU 16 OSU 27 Passing 143 Rushing 209
  18. I know I did. Very appropriate since we pee'd this game down our leg.
  19. I'll call this shot right now. In a classic rematch it will be unbeaten Boise St. vs. unbeaten Oklahoma for the MNC. As we all know, Boise St. propelled themselves to national prominence with their cinderella BCS victory over traditional power Oklahoma in one of the most memorable games ever. From that day on Boise St. has been struggling to reach this game and this year the voters will finally reward them (there is no unbeaten Alabama or Ohio State to deal with). Oklahoma will make it unbeaten through the Big 12 (even if we end up playing them in the CCG, I don't think we beat them). Oregon will stumble somewhere because someone will shut down their offense just enough and score points on them to beat them. SEC continues to beat up each other. Auburn and LSU are playing with fire and both will lose by season's end. TCU...eh? I have not been too impressed with them and even if they go unbeaten, they will not go to the MNC. This would be an attractive match-up for even those not interested in seeing Boise St. because of the history with Oklahoma and how this time it is for all the marbles! If it is Boise St. vs. TCU that will be the lowest rated MNC ever! So, that will not happen.
  20. Nice topic. I have been harping on this for awhile. It is not like we have played the toughest schedule and we just do not get sacks. Speed off the edge is a huge problem...we don't have it. I was looking for Allen to have a big year...shot at impressing the NFL draft board...I barely notice he is out there. Some huge sacks on Gilbert and that is a different game Saturday...he gets jittery, he fumbles, crowd gets loud, field position is lost, they then throw long to try to convert long yards on the next down and we INT. We threw McCoy around like a rag doll last year...man what a difference no Suh makes! We rely on our CB's to not give up the big play but will allow steady plays up the middle in the run and pass game. OSU has a QB who will take those 8-12 yard passes with David in coverage. Not going to be pretty if he has all day to throw it. We better get it together with the QB pressure or next 2 weeks are not going to be good.
  21. I sense a cheapness about this article also. Just adding insult to injury as everyone is down about the loss. This was a team loss and everyone was a part of it. Martinez did not make all the right reads, he is learning. The dropped passes had to be demoralizing for a young QB but he'll gain experience. I don't know why everyone is expecting a freshman to play with the poise and experience of a seasoned senior. We were not winning this game on Martinez alone...when the rest of the team pulled a no-show, I sort of feel for the guy. He made some decent plays but we screwed up in a lot of aspects of this game. I didn't necessarily agree with pulling Martinez because we just lost our homerun threat in doing that but if the coaches saw he was just too frustrated out there then I am OK with the move and they just need to develop and mature him....I think he'll get it in time. We haven't had this exciting of a player in awhile so get behind him already!
  22. Should be a good one. We get no pressure so your QB will have easy passes over the middle. Our CB's are great but you can't expect them to lock down every pass. I expect your experienced QB will have lots of time for the middle 12 yard pass which will be there all day. No telling how our offense will come out after Saturday's debacle. We must run it better no doubt. O-line needs to do their job and Martinez will be fine. As for our WR's...most are shaky at best.
  23. Always seems to cut both ways...yes, disappointing showing today but a lot of football left. But some of these recruits see they can get playing time on a national stage, in a great environment, and that we will be competing in big time games for years to come no doubt.
  24. Martinez threw the ball well enough today to win. We had so many other mistakes it buried us. I love Rex but he flat out dropped a TD. Texas had good pressure and our O-Line gave Martinez little hope. I don't see this game as a "we told you so, Martinez can't pass". Gimme a break.
