RB is easier to find. Sure I would love to get this kid. Bottom line is if you can’t win the LOS you are not winning in the B1G or SEC. Go play in the Big 12 or ACC. It’s the OL that makes the RB, not the other way around. Frost and Riley never got this. I am hoping Rhule does.

SmashRaid or bust. Gotta win on Friday. The outcome will largely create the narrative of how this season went.

Yep I don’t like how we sat on the ball and didn’t play to win at the end. I mean, c’mon, we have the #1 rushing attack in the B1G right?

We have a TE that is a threat in the passing game. We just need a QB that can pass the ball. Yes he needs to improve his blocking but so does the majority of the team.

@HuskerInLostWages gets credit for “SmashRaid” on the game thread last night. It perfectly describes what our Husker offense needs to be. Someone make a SmashRaid smock for Rhule and let’s go bowling!

I’m going to keep preaching it. Our OL and defense has to be our identity. This must be the foundation. I give credit for the defense making progress. We legitimately can recruit kids to come be a Blackshirt, that is a culture and identity that ballers can come play for. This was woefully lacking in the Riley and Frost years. I don’t like our OL. It really has established nothing IMO. We don’t put guys in the league and other teams in our geography have taken OL mojo from what used to be a source of pride for us. If frankly pisses me off. We need to develop the OL and get an identity and culture to build upon. Reward White for progress, show Raiola the door. Results matter and we don’t have 3 years to improve incrementally as we are going to get killed in the new BIG if we don’t wake up. Teams that have flashy skill guys are fun to watch but without defenses and winning the LOS you never reach potential as a team. Many fell for this initially with Riley (Calibraska) and Frost (he got AM and Wandale)…both coaches were disastrous. I’d argue Michigan prior to Harbaugh had this same problem. Lincoln Riley has had great skill guys and Heisman winners but no defenses at OU and now USC. His star is fading. It’s trench warfare. Once you establish the LOS pipeline depth, watch the gravy train of skill guys that want to play for those programs. SmashRaid or bust.

The team’s physical and mental toughness has been ouch for over 10 years.

White has done a good job with the defense but I’d be shocked if he got the Syracuse job. From their fan perspective do they want someone tied to Babers who is the DC on a losing team now? He needs to keep building here. I think Syracuse goes a new direction.

Michigan State. Can’t lose to that bad football team. Once we lost there I didn’t have us beating Maryland or Wisconsin as momentum was lost. If we had won there, I think we win at least one of the next two. Now our whole season comes down to Iowa.

Yes all of the details of what people are saying I mostly agree with. But the bottomline is we are a weak a$$ team in in a weak a$$ division. We need identity, we need culture. We need physicality. Why we took the air out of the ball when we had momentum to steal the win at a hated rival’s place was a gutless punk-out and not the culture or identity this team needs. I fully expect to now go the other way against Iowa and go for broke. There’s no consistency because there’s no identity. Whether we go bowling or not, this off season is huge. The BIG and CFB are being realigned and changed. We run a huge risk of being relegated to the kids table for another 20 years unless we fix culture and identity. It must start upfront. If we are not a LOS team we are a losing football team. That’s one of the great ironies. We want QB’s like Raiola to play here but his very uncles’s OL is the reason he won’t play here. We can’t go into another season with poor OL play. SmashRaid or bust. Of the 3 units the defense has gained some identity back. We lack elite pass rushers and ability to get to the QB. We need better defenders in the secondary. But the defense is not the reason for our losing season. Special teams is a mess. You have one job and fail most of the time. It’s time to cut players not cutting it. Rhule has a tough job. Is he the master rebuilder or not? We are the ultimate test. I have given him lots of leeway this season but the fact is there are 4 losses now piled up that have some inexcusable reasons for losing. We should have won 1 or 2 minimum. Now the team is backed into a corner with having to win on Friday or this season was a failure. Coach speak time is over. You say you want physicality, mental toughness then go out and do it. SmashRaid or bust.

Purdy played good enough tonight. Hope he gets the start against Iowa so we can better assess him. We know what we have In Haarberg and I’d make him like a Taysom Hill jackknife player going forward. Sims would be well served to go non power 5. I think Purdy and Haarberg are here next year and Kaelin and another 1-2 QBs from the portal.

Rhule tonight made reference that last week he was asked why he didn’t run it. I guess I could see if Purdy throws another INT tonight that would be brutal. To me it felt different tonight. It felt like we had momentum to win the game and try to steal it on the road. Last week it felt like kick it to take the lead and put pressure on Maryland to counter against our defense. We lost both times which really sucks. Ultimately the coach has to understand his personnel. I don’t think we have a dominant receiver that can win the game there. So until we improve the roster we are going to be in these tight games needing a star or someone to step up. I think for the Iowa game we go for broke. Someone needs to have a breakout game. Chubba showed me some leadership on offense tonight but no one else really showed me we are winning the game. Wisconsin had those players on their offense tonight. Sucks for us.

Yes Rhule is here. But disappointed he did not go for the win tonight. Chubba could have gained a lot of confidence winning the game and it’s like we took the air out of the ball. It’s like he didn’t want him to have same experience as last week. Scared to fail. We are not a tough physical team on offense. I want an OL that other teams fear. If you can block then the offense would run much better.

I want an OL. How the hell did we let Wisconsin and Iowa completely take over in OL. Even in years where they aren’t great in OL they are better than us. We lost our physical culture and we are easy to beat. The defense has shown progress. We need to regain a physical mentality and culture. I’m tired of it. When 80% of the fans on this message board know what needs to get done and you don’t do it for 15 years we look like dumbasses. We need to get it together and rebuild the culture. Someone called our early offense efforts tonight SmashRaid. That’s what our offensive identity should be “SmashRaid”. SmashRaid plays to win, not for OT. SmashRaid gets 4th and 1 easily. Smash Raid goes up 14 and then 14 more. It’s a culture and we don’t yet have it.

The defense while not playing a very good game tonight is not the reason for our losing record. The offense has sputtered all season so of course Satt is a target. With a competent offense we definitely have at least 2 more wins. We need better QB’s, tougher WR’s, but our OL continues to be weak. Penalties tonight and Purdy was getting flushed regularly and turned some busted plays into yardage. If we could play OL like Wisconsin does we win by double digits.
