Devaney had the luxury of being able to offer unlimited? scholarships and being one of the handful of teams on TV. Osborne was instrumental in getting our Strength and Conditioning program started...and cutting edge ''juicing'' back when it was sorta legal..Towards the end he was getting hamstrung by the Prop 48 thing...Which I considered one of our ''feel good'' stories about how we could turn a dyslexic into an Academic All Conference player...I forget his name. He and his staff also developed a reputation of getting the most out of players and into the NFL which is the only way for me to explain to myself how we were able to recruit so well for being a ''flyover state''. I don't realistically expect us to ever sniff another MNC as long as we're stuck in a 4-team playoff...Which I mostly hated. But as long as we keep showing improvement...I'll try my best to be good with..

I thought Bo was entertaining, but we seemed to take a serious drop in Defense after we got rid of Carl...(maybe due to poor recruiting by Bo and his staff)...My major gripe with Bo was other teams were finding it too easy to take him out of a game...Just piss him off and he goes brain dead for hours.

Yeah...I started watching us regularly and listening to my radio back in 1970...And arguing with my girlfriend's dad who claimed to be a booster, but kept saying TO should go in 1979...I still wonder if he was really kidding. Coaching staff really is key to MNC success.

No...I'm talking further into the future...Towards year 5 or so. Speaking of smelling like Maurice's pet skunk...Unless Nebraska gets some sort of recruiting advantage, like say, making wacky weed recreationally legal...And striking it from our team rules...Do you think we could possibly make it to the 4-team playoffs?

Believe in him to do what? I still believe in him, but I'm starting to find myself having to temper some of my original thoughts.. I don't think this Offense will be effective long term, if at all...It will get more better with faster recruits, but then again...Will we ever out recruit a place like UCLA where Chip Kelly is struggling with a similar Offense/Defense philosophy in his year two? Hopefully, S.F. is capable of evolving or adjusting faster than T.O AND HIS STAFF were...I know..Tall order. These past two decades, I've been hoping for game time adjustments on our side instead of theirs..

I don't normally follow Mechicken Football, but I looked into them because Jim Harbaugh has some similarities to Scott Frost and his seat may be getting warm (now in year 5 at UM)..His 1st 4 years, he went 10-3, 10-3, 8-5 and now 5-2. I can't imagine we'll ever be able to recruit as well as Mechicken does, but do you think our fan base will be satisfied being where UM is right now (or worse) in year 5? I have my doubts..I just keep telling myself it's only entertainment and have been replaying old Husker game videos during bye week of when my cousin was catching passes and throwing blocks for us back in the early 80's.

I miss it sometimes too...Trying to remember why it pretty much died off...Too many teams loading the box? Too many faster Linebackers or corners turned into LBs?

Everyone complains about our line play but what exactly is the problem with them? Run blocking was much easier (especially when we ran the option) as opposed to pass blocking...Most of our guys are young but supposedly are pushing the weights much better..So...What gives? Line blocking schemes?

With the new 4 game redshirt rule, I'm almost surprised a few really bad teams aren't trying the wholesale redshirt thing...Like we used to do with Freshmen...Only with everyone that's eligible for it..Play your 4th string the first 4 games, 3rd string the second 4 games...etc with your walk-ons and those that already used up their redshirts helping fill out positions all season.

Although we might not be quite as good as I led myself to believe, we're much better than we have been...Anyone watch Tennessee lose to Georgia State today? The Vols were in the running for Frost and had to settle for a coach that's probably already on his way out...Few of his players looked like they even wanted to be on the field...Looking forward to the rest of the season to play out.

I was watching Tennessee play today and thinking...Sure glad we aren't them...Most of the players didn't look like they wanted to be on the field.

Thanks for sharing this Landlord...I've often wondered what I'd do if someone came up to me with a similar situation.. I've lost so much time with my Son..We shared custody (I got every other weekend) but it seemed to make me bi-polar ...I'd be so giddy at work on the Fridays Before picking him up and then after dropping him off, my mind would keep replaying ''1000 ways to die''. After a few years, I thought he'd be better off if I wasn't a part of his life...so we stopped having him come over. If it were you in your Dad's situation, would you want your Son to make contact? I know it's probably impossible for you to answer that because of differing situations and environments involved between you and your dad, but the older you get, you learn how much more family means to you...I'd at least stalk him.

I don't usually notice actors, but Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Anniston were the first that came to mind...Maybe William H. Macy
