  1. his tweets are protected. have to follow him to be able to see them.
  2. weird, a large contingent of his fan base shares that same trait.
  3. okay, i worded that wrong. and i have no clue at the best way to say what i was trying to say.
  4. Paterno would be the only one. Maybe Weiss. The others, not even close to the media circus. You really believe this don't you? I would believe that USC, a team that is located in the third largest city in this country and the second largest media market would have a little bit more of an issue with media circus. They don't even have an NFL team there, everyone is a USC fan. Lincoln, Nebraska is not equal to Los Angeles, CA in terms of media scrutiny. no UCLA fans?
  5. still cant erase that early loss from the record book.
  6. Yes. they looking at jucos to start or act as depth? just a little confused at the need for multiple juco db's as i thought we had some good young talent waiting their turn.
  7. Not a Bo hater but you never make long term decisions based on a recruiting class. With that said, if you were ever going to make a decision based on a recruiting class (which let me reiterate is completely the dumbest thing ever), this would be the class to do so. This is setting up to be one of Bo's worse rated classes. Two of the top 3 players have a greater chance to not see the field than they do have a chance of seeing the field. If you take those 2 guys off the list, or even Monte Harrison, we are ranked like 60th. We have been ranked in the 15-22 range the last couple years, keeping a coach in order to keep one of the worst rated classes in the last 20 years is not a thought in anyone's mind. what's it like to always see the glass completely empty? it has been mentioned numerous times, throughout this thread and the recruiting board, that come signing day this class should be ranked along the lines of the other classes, in the 15-25 range. so while the class, in november, doesnt look all that appealing you still have until february to make up ground. also with this class it is around half full and many of the teams ahead of them have full classes. it is much harder for them to move up since that requires a bump up to their recruits whereas, depending on the ranking of the recruit, nebraska will most likely move up each time they add a recruit. letting bo go at the end up the season, the new staff will have to re-recruit the players they feel fit their needs from the existing recruits. on top of that they have to go out and find more to fill out their class. if bo is gone after the iowa game the new staff has a bowl game to prepare for, unless ADSE decides to decline the invite (dumb idea all the way around) or the NCAA grants nebraska a waiver to hire a HC and his staff while retaining the other coaches through the bowl game. you're welcome for the stupidly long post to add to your incomplete comment telling you things you already knew but chose to ignore. Oh yes, what I said is completely looking half-empty...... At no point last year were we ranked near 50th. During the season we were ranked in the mid 20's and slowly crept up to the teens and ended right around there. Again, we weren't sitting at 50th at the end of November last year or the year before and moved up 30 spots. THAT IS NOT HOW IT HAPPENED. So go back, make up some other "facts" that you completely fabricate, and let me know when you have another argument in which I'm sure you're going to create. what exactly did i fabricate? where did i say how anything happened in the past? i could provide links to posts have stated the class will end up ranked around where it has ended up the past couple years, if i felt so compelled, but i'm not going to. anyone who follows recruiting on this board has seen these posts. sorry that you dont like having things you said refuted. i merely gave you sound reasoning that things might not be as bad as you think they are. and i gave you no credit for even seeing anything half-empty.
  8. i dont get why 8 michigan guys were all over the return man after he got up.
  9. tOSU should have lost #83 too. didnt see #79 really do anything except push a guy. but this game is just nuts. michigan's offense has shown up and gardner seems to be a qb again.
  10. tressel was at youngstown st 14 years before becoming tOSU's HC. (not comparing the two. just pointing out that it is possible for coaches to make the jump from FCS to FBS and have success after spending years at lower levels.)
  11. nebraska cant hire tressel. the football team would never get to have sandwiches or books ever again if they did.
  12. his heisman was also a "career heisman" similar to ron dayne's.
  13. that would make the refs even more worthless. many wouldnt throw a flag thinking this "eye in the sky" would do it for them or they would throw even more erring on the side of caution waiting for the bailout.

  15. or TAMU to alabama. Obvious Troll is obvious. sorry, didnt realize TAMU fans were so sensitive over losing bear bryant. i also thought stallings was hired away as well. so i made the comment in jest thinking bama had stolen 2 coaches from TAMU that led them to an MNC.
  16. I just don't want to see our "N" on a sweater-vest.
  17. nfl scouts know about players that get little or no attention. sure the attention helps but if the player is talented enough he most likely gets found regardless how much hype he gets or doesnt get from ESPiN.
  18. maybe the article he referenced alludes to him owning up to his mistakes.
  19. why? The line is already better this year in Garrisons first year. And the TEs are god awful this year. Im not to high on his coaching ability. he still helps with the OL. the TE position is made up of 4 freshmen, 3 redshirt freshmen, 2 sophomores and 1 senior who has been hurt most of the year. of the underclassmen, one was on the defense last year and one has been injured for parts of the year this year, IIRC. not too sure but i think only half of them are on scholarship as well. I forgot about all those penalties we had last year too. the entire time garrison has been coaching at nebraska he has been helping with the OL. he is responsible for those penalties as well. why does he get a pass for the failures of the OL and all the credit for their success?
  20. did you know that MSU altered their defense to take away the option? with RK3 in they would have brought that player back towards the middle clogging up AA's running lanes. there were numerous plays where AA and amani were getting 2 yards or less. there would have been even more with those running lanes clogged. these plays put you off schedule and allow for the defense to pin their ears back on 2nd or 3rd and long. conversely we'd be bitching about option plays with RK3 had they put him in.

  22. Iowa State would be downright stupid to fire Rhodes, and I doubt he's anywhere near the hot seat. Everyone said that same thing about Dan McCarney too after he took them to immagined heights as a program and had one bad year and boom gone. Some thing with Kansas with Glen Mason AND Mark Mangino. I get a kick out of these small time programs that get a coach that takes them to new heights, gains some sense of entitlement, and then fires him after one bad year. it's the equivilant of if Tim Miles takes us to the NIT this year, NCAA tourney year after that. Sweet sixteen year after that. Then drops of with a 15-15 record in a rebuilding year, and we fire him for it. The coaching profession and the revolving door profession it has become in all sports at any level is comical to me. glen mason left ku for minnesota. he wasnt fired. and mangino was forced out for other reasons. but i still get your point.
  23. why does nebraska have to be relevant to cheer for them? Maybe you should ask the 91k people that buy season tickets. They do not do it because they enjoy watching us lose. With your logic we may as well all become Iowa fans and support moral victories. what exactly is my logic? i dont see a correlation between relevancy and being a fan. i couldnt care less what others think (relevancy) of the team i cheer for. so why exactly does nebraska need to be relevant to cheer for them?
