  1. I'd like to point out that the opposing defense has a lot to do with how our O performs. WF, USC, and BState all played most of the game with 8 or 9 men in the box to stop our running game. And it's been effective from that stand point, but it has also opened up the passing game. Keller and the receivers weren't playing well against WF so stopping the run was a very good strategy, but our team played just well enough to win. USC simply manhandled our D so our offense really never had a chance, but we played well against them in stretches. BState obviously had watched our first 3 games and figured that they'd sellout to stop our running game and force us to beat them through the air - which we did. I'm not saying our oline and running game don't need to improve, because they certainly do. But our offense is taking what the opposing D is giving and is doing a pretty good job exploiting the opposing schemes. Future opponents are going to have to play more balanced D schemes which will allow us to run more than we have. And being able to both run and pass can make an offense extremely difficult to defend.
  2. NU 23 USC 20 rushing: 189 yards passing: 212 yards
  3. I don't have the link, but when the first depth chart was released last week, Callahan remarked that he only gives out a depth chart because the athletic department makes him do it.
  4. I hate that the audio is from the radio broadcast. Also, I think students are running the cameras because the video does weird stuff like refocusing between plays. The home games also have all th replays since the feed is the same as the HuskerVision screens in the stadium, but that also means all the cheesy graphics for getting the crowd into the game are on there. Overall the video is just fine for watching the game, but I personally prefer the TV broadcasts whenever I can get them.
  5. Duly noted. So go back toy your website, and when you're ready to join 2007, we'll still be here enjoying Husker football.
  6. I'm glad somebody else sees this. A large contingent bashing Grixby while Jones absolutely sucked it up on the other side. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. NFL Network has a show called College Football Now which is similar to ESPN's College Football Live, but has actual analysts breaking down footage. The guys aren't especially good TV personalities but they do a pretty good job of analyzing the teams and players.
  8. NU 59 Nevada 16 NU rushing: 312 NU passing: 276
  9. According to hdsportsguide.com the game will be in HD. I remember reading at the beginning of the year that every game on ESPN and ABC will be in HD except for any game from Hawaii. According to the markers on the coverage map, the game is not in HD. It'll be on the ABC HD channel, but the game will be filmed (is that the right word since there's no longer any film?) using standard def cameras. At least that's my understanding.
  10. Can someone give a recount for those of us outside the state?
  11. Rumors on another board say he's N. I cannot find any confirmation though.
  12. And KSU that night against Auburn. Hope that's the prelude to NU victories over WF and USC and the B12 North no longer being a national laughing stock.
  13. Sucks that our game will be the only one not in HD
  14. Where did you see this? Seems like about the only thing I can find right now is scout saying he will decide on September 4th and rivals hasn't said anything new since their last article. I originally got it from people I know, but here is a link: HI link
  15. Demens has moved back his announcement, probably sometime after making his official visits.
  16. I guess the facts shouldn't get in the way of a good story. Spain never qualified for the 2005 season and enrolled in January of 2006, therefore not starting a game in 05, let alone playing. I'm not sure he ever played in a game, period(he left the team before the 06 season was over, I believe). Spain played on the kickoff coverage team last year. I think he even made a few tackles.
  17. Reports are that Asante had heat cramps and is fine.
  18. He can't run again - he's already served 2 terms.
  19. Looks good splitting blockers and stringing plays out also.
  20. Apparently the coaches plan to rotate all 4 safeties (Green, Wilson, Asante, Thenarse) into the left and right safety spots. I think they'll be co-number 1's with Green and Asante actually on the field first against Nevada. No matter how you slice it, we're going to be tons better at safety than in 06.
  21. Zach Potter also mentioned that Dixon has been impressive thus far.
  22. There are also rumors that he wanted to commit but the NU coaches told him to wait until he'd taken some official visits. The coaches may have been trying to slow-play him and it didn't work.
  23. I'm pretty sure it's the opposite. The base end is usually bigger and generally lines up on the same side as the opposing TE (Carriker last year, possibly Potter this fall). The open end is the speedier one (Moore last year, Turner this fall). There's lots more to it than that, but you get the general idea.
