  1. OK, So everybody thinks the Bullseye will be on NU this year as they are the team leaving the Big 12. My Question: Why would folks not be as pissed off at Texas for messing up the status quo of the Big 12 as at NU for leaving? I mean how far was KU, KSU, ISU and Mizzery from being out in the cold alone? Texas really wasn't worried about leaving them adrift? I'd be worried if I was Texas..... I'm really looking forward to discovery proceedings in the lawsuit for damages: Big 12 v NU. We will learn a lot on how the Texas boys operate and it will be out in the open. GBR RiverRunner
  2. Very positive story about NU going to the Big 10: My link
  3. I guess what bothers me most about all this is the student athletes remaining in the Big 12 are not getting a fair shot to play at their highest level. The focus is on $ and power, not the kids. Are we not to focus on the benefits of university for the students? What we have is a bunch of 60 year old Good 'ol Boys from Texas casuing all this grief to gain power and money at the kids expense. Kind of has a familiar ring to it does it not?......... RiverRunner
  4. I never want to see Kevin Cosgrove again.....................
  5. Payback comes October 16...............Wouldn't it piss off Texas if we brought in Big 10 officials for the Game!!!! GBR RiverRunner
  6. You Bet!!! I want to see an OL that can open holes up like the last time we played in Seattle. I'll never forget the HUGE holes that OL made for Scott Frost - galloping toward a UW west stadium that was Totally RED!!!. Was a great day!!! GBR
  7. Just picked up my SUH jersey from a guy with an internet business out of Seattle. He's a DAWG fan and was really nice discussing the NU-WA game coming up this fall. He's got the Addidas jersey with sown on numbers and letters. Replacing the old Touchdown Tommy jersey where the printed numbers were coming off! Lots of good memories in that baby! I hope the new jersey brings the same. Will be interesting wearing this baby around Portland - I wonder how many folks will recognize the number and name of their Hometown Hero! GBR RiverRunner
  8. Try the Jimi Hendrix Experience Music Project - You're not in Omaha anymore........ Seattle is a great city and the Dawg Fans when we last played them in Seattle were the Best! Scott Frost ran all over the Dawgs and the fans were just as nice as if we were in Lincoln and the Huskers got beat bad. They were a class act for sure.. Wait until they get a dose of the Buffs! 9. The really cool thing about a legal disagreement re: the Exit Penalty is going to be the discovery process. By the time discovery is over, we should pretty much know who did what, to who and when they did it! Now does Texas and the Big 12 really want to air their dirty laundry in public? Too bad these things usually take a long time. I'd love to see the email strings....... RiverRunner
  10. I will forever support the Sooners and hope them the best! Some of my best football memories are from those NU-OU games. I so miss the annual Thanksgiving Game...... RR
  11. The West Coast Teams are not going to take Texas' normal bullying behavior. Texas, in the Pac-10, will just be one of the boys. The Horror! USC, UCLA, Oregon and maybe now the Dawgs don't really need the Horns........I sure do hope the Okies land right.... RR
  12. Are you related to John Talman from Rivals? I think we are all over it, just like OWAtch 2009/10!!! Sorry, I get better info from the Pac 10 sources out here than I get from NU sources regarding expansion- and PAC 10 folks really seem to care less. This is pretty fundemental and honestly I'm worried NU gets the short straw. I'm a Big Red Fan from way back, but we've not got a good negotiating position versus the states and schools with more people. This is all $ and nothing more. If we cannot add viewer revenues versus another school - why would anyone bring us in? Bad JU-Ju RiverRunner
  13. So I live in Oregon now and try to come to this forum to keep up to date with Husker News. Conference expansion seems to be the buzz right now. This forum has been a bust regarding the conference expansion news. Kind of like watching Fox News and expecting to get coverage of the gulf coast oil spill problems. You keep tuning in and fox just never runs the story because they don't want to explain something that won't fit well with the party line.. Are the readers here so insulateted from these events to ignor them?? I'm wondering why this is? Have I been watching the wrong forum? I'm real worried about the expansion opportunities and how things will run out. Nebraksa has a population problem-thank god we have TO. We travel well and we watch and pay for PPV, but we just don't have many people. This is a huge problem carrying it into the expansion mix. This expansion drama appears to be directly related to TV revenues and how to divide them. If I'm the Big Ten looking at adding Nebraska or a bigger population state with the opportunity to generate higher TV revenues - who do I go after? This thing ain't set yet. GBR! RiverRunner
  14. We went up to Seattle for the last NU/WA game played there and flew from Denver to Lincoln and back with DAWG's for the last game in Lincoln. The DAWG fans are great. Nebraska won both of those games by BIG margins and their fans were just nice - no jeers or cussing - just nice people. The DAWG's were right up there with the class of fans at a Home Game in Lincoln. It is too bad the NCAA had to run Don James out of the school - James had built a very good program year in and year out - this would be like TO being forced out in Lincoln. The Seattle stadium is a wonderful place to see a game. We've got tickets for this fall. Hope we have as many people in RED as the last time. GBR
  15. The Dawgs have great fans! We smoked the Dawgs that day in Seattle and their fans had nothing but great things to say after the game - kinda like in Lincoln. They figured they would cream us and looked past us. I flew into Lincoln the next year with the Dawgs on Friday before the game at Memorial Stadium...Dawgs Bark and Howl on the plane, I told them there wouldn't be any Barking and Howling on the way home and sure enough, Sunday am back to Seattle - No Barking and Howling - OK, maybe a little GBR!!!!! RiverRunner
  16. The Freshman looked better than Colt McCoy performed against us! Just think; had we sacked Colt 10 times and not just nine, TU wouldn't even be in the game! RiverRunner
  17. As an East High Grad, this really hurts! Solich was the SE Coach when I graduated....... Go SouthEast Band - very cool you can pick up where the University left us. I hope you all have the time of your life! Make some wonderful memories! RiverRunner Portland, OR - Home of the SUH Man
  18. I assume there are some pretty good JC Transfers dropping a dime on Bo about now. I'd sure like to get to the point where we can develop QB's internally, but we need to go with what will produce an offense that can contribute to our goals asap. GBR RiverRunner
  19. With our offense; we either learn to run the QB keeper, as a design play or broken play, or we will never get defenses to back off so our running game works. If the running game works, play action passing works. If the defense does not believe the QB keeper is an option, no go everywhere else. If we can make the QB run work, Katie bar the gates! I keep holding out for Green to mature and run this offense like it is supposed to - RUN - RUN Baby RUN!!! RiverRunner
  20. Watson is a pretty sharp guy. He is running an offense based on the people and talents available to him. We just don't have a QB that can lead a varied set of looks to the offense. You have to play with the guys you have. RiverRunner
  21. My question is why was Hawkins doing that anyway? What did he prove? NOTHING, instead he showed that he is a d-bag that has little to no regard for his player, or ours. There is no lost honor in taking a knee, in fact I would call it losing with dignity. It was impossible to win at that point, and our D had shut down. IMO it shows that Hawkins is reckless, just look at what he did to his son early on in the season, kept him in when you could tell he was hurt. Way to go Dan, you proved your an A-hole.... Would you ever want your Huskers to just quit or would you want them to fight until the end? With 38 seconds left there is no shame in taking a knee. Even if it was us. I think once the game was under 40 seconds they should of stopped. I wasn't there but it seemed to me, even the CU players had the same look to them, not knowing why they were still playing. Like I said just my thoughts. Last game of the season, last home game, last game - period - for the seniors. You don't quit. You put it up and hope for the best. Do kids want to think their coach gave up on them the last plays of their last game. Not a good way to motivate people....... RiverRunner

Are you serious? You fight to the last play, period. Hawkins just proved he wants to win, not take a knee. Would you expect a Bo Coached team to lay down with time left on the board and just quit? My 2 cents. River-Runner
  23. Hi Gang - We were rafting on the Rogue River in southern OR over the weekend and just got to watch the NU-OU game via DVR. GBR! Thank god we recruited SUH out of Grant High in Portland!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never in my life have I seen NU tackle as well in the open field! Not in the mid 90's, never! You folks who are complaining about the coaching staff need to remember this current group of coaches has the ability to teach this most difficult of tasks. Part hustle, part meanness, part technique, part luck, but you make your own luck in this game - we have the real McCoy in this group of defensive coaches. This is what we have lacked for many, many years. This defense runs for the entire play - what a change from two years ago! How many times have we seen down linemen make a tackle on the opposite side 12 yards downstream! Excellent!!!! SSSSSUUUUUUHHHH!!!!!! Offense - I don't understand. We could score on anybody two years ago - just couldn't score as fast as they could........ Cotton has got to get more out of these kids - penalties and lack of effort. My 2 cents. I think we should stick with Cody Green. Our offense will not work without a QB that can run. We pretty much run the Oregon offense. Take a look at the Oregon Offense - two weeks ago they drove USC crazy with a QB that would pull back into the pocket and then run for 10+yards - design play or chased out of the pocket. This is our future with an option or two thrown into the mix and play action passes. Spread the defense until they have to defend on every play with only one guy - who can or cannot tackle in the open field......... I hope Cody Green can run this type of game!!! I believe we are headed back into the Glory. We can be some pretty tough mothers with this defense! Go Big Red RiverRunner
  24. He was trying to miss a dog or a cat.... Hell, he might be perceived as a good guy. Do you really believe that? Trying to miss a cat? If so, I've got a one owner bridge in south Kearney County I'd like to talk to you about............... This is like why we went into Iraq - for WMD's........Fair and Balanced..... Sorry, but that is really silly.
  25. That, my friend, is the root of the problem. We got pushed around on both the run and pass.
