  1. Well, then let's petition our AD to do something about it. Next season, when Penn State plays in Lincoln, it's officially "Russ Rose" day and we blow the roof off for the guy. Hell, we can even get everyone to wear white--that way it's not an affront to our school colors, and usually the volleyball crowd is better than the football crowd at following directions--and show highlights from both sides of the win column that involve Rose. There's a definite PR upside to doing this, I know...but I think doing something this classy would elevate the sport, schools, and our conference above all else.
  2. Yeah...if people thought this would be gone by now, they haven't been paying attention since March 2020. On another note, if the team doesn't come out and put a decent effort on the floor against tOSU (I don't expect a win--even if tOSU COVID-forfeits--just a close game), I propose we start doing individual game threads for the women's games, and we relegate the men's season to a single dreary thread going forward.
  3. LOL, hell, it posted it four times. That's weird AF. Just edited it. Thanks.
  4. That was last year only because of COVID. This year, the old rules apply (5-7 teams get first dibbs, ranked by Academic score) unless the NCAA changes them right away. It's why Rutgers was tapped first to replace aTm (they went 5-7 and have a great academics score).
  5. And many of the naysayers either moved on or contributed to the dysfunction we saw on the field. Really wish Frost would had put his foot down as a coach and said we were doing a bowl game, even if that meant we did so with a third string offense. We desperately need(ed) the reps.
  6. Hell, if he waits a year, he may have an opportunity to be Head Coach. And we know Ed already said he's open to the idea of coming to Lincoln and turning things around--he said as much after the Riley debacle.
  7. Think Knapplc just answered your question. Having full hospitals and reduced staff due to (among other things) Boomer retirements and staff tired of putting up with idiots that don't want to get vaccinated puts everyone in danger. How many stories have we heard about people having to wait and dying because all of the COVID patients gumming things up? And the overwhelming majority of these COVID patients being unvaccinated morons? I just had a family friend die at 52 the other day because of complications from COVID. He left behind a 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter. He had health issues and couldn't get vaccinated, but because he had to go to the hospital, he got COVID on top of his other issues, and it killed him. I'm tired of the lowest common denominator of people dragging our society and country down with them...all because they lack the intelligence and critical thought capacity to understand why they need to mask up and get their vaccinations.
  8. It's been dead ever since the evangelicals got their claws into the rank and file of the party. It's been a slow, agonizing death by willful ignorance and stupidity. Look at the platforms of Eisenhower compared to what we're trying to get done today. Ike would be branded a pinko commie bastard.
  9. That sucks. Feel bad for these girls that are sick and stuck in Lincoln over the holidays instead of being with their families.
  10. Hell, I don’t see why not. Does anyone have a spare kilo of pure Colombian uncut lying around to use as a signing bonus?
  11. Pretty sure I remember reading it was going to be Powder Puff and the first string will be taking on the Women's Volleyball, Basketball, and Bowling teams.
  12. Hopefully. I had such high hopes for Hoiberg. *sigh*
  13. It's gonna be a looooooooooooong offseason. At least we have the baseball program and women's basketball to tide us over.
  14. If anyone (other than Donald Trump) is a deserving recipient of a Herman Cain Award... Oh wait. Maybe these two can share an award.
  15. Well, looks like it's time to update the schedule on the right-side of the message board to 2022. I'm tired of looking at 2021, to say the least.
  16. Yes. And you take steps to make it where if they *could* be vaccinated and made the moronic decision not to, then they pay for the entirety of their hospital stay/treatment out of pocket. Or are just barred from seeking help for COVID-19 infections from a hospital all together. Maybe when they're barred from seeking treatment or barred from hiding behind their insurance to face the reality of this pandemic, they'll get on board. Or they can roll the dice (like a lot of the Herman Cain award winners have--check out the Reddit, as it's equal parts funny/sad/frightening) and when they end up on the wrong side of the board...TDB
  17. YouTube TV dropped all of the Disney channels because of the ongoing negotiations/carrier dispute.

Sling TV has their first month for $10 and has most of the lost channels, sports-wise. Good alternative to tide you over until Disney and YTTV come to an agreement.

And no, HULU TV isn’t a good alternative, plus why reward Disney and Comcast? At least YTTV is giving folks a credit while this issue persists…

I might take a look at Sling, but I'm mostly hoping that YTTV and Disney come to an agreement relatively soon. I primarily had a subscription for Husker football and Formula 1. NFL is like a 'in the background' mood on Sundays. With the Huskers as they've been, it's really only been F1, and that season is over now for a few months. I'll probably only cancel if this continues for weeks.

They kissed and made up as of yesterday afternoon. Channels are all back (though you have to add them to your view to see them if you have a custom guide...)

Cox did that with a major network during football season. CBS I think.

  18. If you have YouTube TV, they’re currently in negotiations with Disney, and all Disney related content/channels were dropped because the deadline was Friday the 17th. This includes ESPN 2. Sling is a good alternative and they’re running a $10 special for the first month—long enough to watch tonight’s game and the forthcoming bowl games. After that…we’ll see…
  19. A Brain Surgeon or Rocket Scientist that has trouble with dating because of the intimidation factor.
  20. Sweet! He was one of the players I was hoping would come back...partially because of his bomb-AF name. I really hope the dude opens a Brewery in his lifetime. Or is stationed at an embassy.
  21. They forgot to include Wisconsin on that list.
  22. Trev may end up being our AD's biggest hire over the past 20 years and the next 20. And that includes Cook's replacement (he's not long for the sideline) and if Frost and/or Hoiberg are replaced. People underestimate the need for a strong, capable, long-term AD.
