  1. Well, to be fair, they did start having Martinez wear platform cleats. So was it really fixed?
  2. I wasn't really that shocked--Texass is a two trick pony with Logan Eggleston and Skylar Fields (when she shows up). As soon as they figured out how to mitigate the damage Eggleston was doing on the edge, Texass' weaksauce passing and defense did them in. That's the beauty of playing in a tough volleyball conference--you typically have to lock down the smaller, non-sexy things, like passing and defense, in order to succeed. And when you do, you have a puncher's chance against anyone you come up against. Texass had something like 35 passing errors to our 14 during the four sets. Also, it's cute that Texass is trying to frame this as a match that was extremely close. These matches weren't that close--we just let Texass get some garbage points before we put them away (with the help of some bad officiating going Texass' way). I'm more worried about playing Pitt and (most likely) Louisville than I was Texass. But if our Fresh(wo)men show up like they did for Texass, that may be the X factor that powers us over the top against them.
  3. That suggests politics/behind the scenes stuff going on. And if the recruiting scandal talk is legit, and the kids had the inside scoop...
  4. Right, but reading those updates, it doesn't address the blight and lack of development going on outside of the Airport. Having a mid-Lincoln/Omaha airport own all of that land would help help address and prevent future blight. And yes, Grand Island/Kearney have proven that people don't always want to go to Omaha to fly out of the state, and Lincoln's airport has been rubbish for some time. While they've cut a few flights back from the GI/Kearney airport, they've expanded significantly over the past decade or so. I've even thought about flying in through there a few times--the cost unfortunately drives me to Omaha.
  5. So is there a site we register for on this...or do we gotta do this old school?
  6. True. But we can always sell the airport to Duncan, Silverhawk, or someone else in Aviation. It's just that it's pretty obvious unless we want to put an expensive coat of lipstick on this pig, it's not going to be attractive for anyone to fly out of there. And if we're going to spend all that money, why not build something new, that has more controls, and truly can spur development?
  7. May Hallmark and the Jewish Anti-Defamation League wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah from Hanukkah Harry himself.
  8. Honestly, I don't know why interests haven't gotten together, bought a huge swath of land around Ashland, and set up a new Airport between Lincoln and Omaha. You'd attract folks from both cities, and both Lincoln and Omaha are starting to grow closer to each other anyway. Add in proposed light rail between the cities, and you've got an Airport city that can spur development and expansion in between Lincoln and Omaha (not unlike what has happened in other states/cities with smaller, start-up airports) and help grow the cities and their respective economic bases over time. IIRC, the City of Lincoln owns the airport--sell Lincoln Airport to an aviation interest or the land to a developer and zone it for mixed use development (residential/retail/commercial) right off of I-80.
  9. Nah, I'm pretty sure one of the local Junior High schools had a dance scheduled in that gym right after. Seriously--all of that dirty oil money and racist POS booster money, and that's the best Texass can come up with for a volleyball program that's supposedly one of the upper echelon programs?
  10. Hell, we were out of system so many times last night, I think the setter was moot point. Plus, aren’t we working with a Redshirt Freshman setter earlier this season (Orr?) that was doing well?
  11. Yeah…uh no. That guy is a *huge* Nebraska fan (as far as personalities are allowed to root for teams) and has given us considerably favorable press during just about all the ESPN games he’s covered. I mean, calling us *THE* biggest rivalry (with Texass) at the top of the show, complimenting our pedigree and longevity…seriously, are you expecting him to flash a Horns Down or some ****?
  12. Look, can you two keep your sexting and fetishes to the Woodshed? There are impressionable youths around here...not to mention Knapplc who is just easily aroused.
  13. Yeah...I just chastised folks a few posts ago for not focusing on what we need to fix things immediately (read: Special Teams) over a Running Backs coach. Plus, if we're talking specifically about Ron Brown coming back, the man can coach RBs, but he's a PR dumpster fire once he sets foot outside of the stadium. I'd much rather tamp down the Special Teams dumpster fire we have now, instead of ignoring said fire and introducing another potentially divisive and distracting dumpster fire outside of the stadium.
  14. Be honest--You just wanted to say "drop a Diaco".
  15. Folks--you're thinking long-term, when what we need are immediate fixes. Special Teams played a key factor in *ALL* of our losses last season. We were one of the worst Special Teams units in FBS. Running Backs didn't, and likely won't if we get the O-Line and playcalling shored up. I don't get how someone would prioritize RBs (which can be handled by another offensive coach) over an entire 3rd unit in Special Teams when our Special Teams are a raging dumpster fire of epic proportions. Even base, competent Special Teams would have gotten us to a bowl game (or beyond) this season. There's zero question--you hire a Special Teams coordinator now. Then down the road, if there's an opening and things are stable again, *then* look at splitting duties between coaches and hiring a RB coach. Also, there are plenty of other RB coaches out there besides Brown. The man is an embarrassment to the University.
  16. Special teams is such a raging dumpster fire at this point, coaching by committee (which we already have done) isn't going to pull it out of its tailspin. Get a Special Teams coordinator in here to fix the mess. There's a LOT broken with Special Teams that needs to be repaired. Once you have it back on track after a few seasons, and the Special Teams coordinator wants to move on, THEN you can look to get another offensive position coach and go back to Special Teams by committee.
  17. All three have been great hires by Frost and Trev, and I have a feeling that Whipple's time as a HC and experience will help give Frost someone to collaborate and learn to be a HC with/from. Also, I've heard that we're still in the mix for Sean Snyder still? I would think he'd be staying at USC, if offered, but if he's available, I think he would be a key pickup and significantly better than Ron Brown coming back again, at any rate.
  18. Isn't this a repeat of last week?
  19. We need the reminder of how low our program could *actually* sink if we don’t get things fixed.
  20. Bourbon Street to the Haymarket. Expect a Larry Flynt Hustler Club to be opened within the week. --- Seriously, recruiting in Louisiana and the SEC territories, great WR talent, possible commits flipping.
  21. Yup. Kinda irresponsible for Sipple and the OWH to be tweeting it as fact when he hasn't signed. Unless...
