  1. This x1,000. I don't care what Rhule's record is anymore. The fact that his hire got the reporters mic'd up is a win over almost two decades of fans having to guess what question the reporters were pissing the coach off with.
  2. Pretty sure there's a BioEngineering program in a campus basement somewhere that's working on this right now.
  3. Agreed. The hire of Rhule looks rather pedestrian and sad in comparison.
  4. Yeah, if Fickel to Wisky is legit, this makes our hire of Rhule look like a damn joke.
  5. This Matt Rhule hire is great… …for me to poop on.
  6. Craig Bohl, just because I want to see the world burn. That, or he hires Solich as OC and the curse is lifted…
  7. This is a disingenuous argument at best. None of those teams had an offensive line that executed the Matador blocking scheme as effectively as ours. Plus these teams had sufficient talent on the lines and 2-Deep. Nebraska OTOH...
  8. But some of the anti-Mickey crowd can’t just come out and say “he’s black” as a reason (as much as they want to) so they come up with unreasonable expectations and incoherent comparisons instead. And yeah, I’ve heard from certain members of the fan base (that think because I’m a 2A guy I’m automatically in the MAGA camp) who find it unacceptable Nebraska would hire a black man to be it’s (interim) head coach.
  9. Um…I know of at least 10 homes in our neighborhood that have away full-sized candy bars. It happens quite frequently anymore… …but edibles? Yeah, the GOP wishes someone would give away edibles.
  10. Yup, it was kinda like this. Even did a jig with the ghost of Bob Devaney on the table until I was told it was just my shadow…
  11. Pictures of these so-called "massive dorks":
  12. I died from candy-colored fentanyl. But I quickly took a marijuana gummy bear from my kids' stash and got better.
  13. Looks good. Also looks like it will answer a lot of questions about the TVA and Loki.
  14. Look, I get we're all for bringing back the 1980s and 1990s around here...but this *SNIIIIIFFF* is going a bit too far. BO? This BO (seen below after sitting on a whoopee cushion full of ghost pepper hot sauce)
  15. Not if your home is in Nebraska--he won't be coming up here any time soon. Noooooo...they won't. Not if they make him money.
  16. That's rude to call Dave Aranda crap. Or to throw him against a wall.
  17. At this point, I'm fine with a healthy dose of Wildcat and jet sweep/pre-snap motion to keep the defense honest if Logan or Purdy aren't our answer.
  18. This. I’ve suspected some of our recruiting failures aren’t just because Frost was being Frosty, but because we were after the wrong kids in the first place.
  19. This. And let’s be honest, there are some posters and boosters that have gone overboard with the anti-Mickey derp. The fact is, there are zero (realistic) slam dunk hires out there this season, and a lot of mediocre or unproven hires from guys who will have one eye on the exit the whole time they’re here (e.g. Chadwell, Sanders, Leopold, Campbell). Mickey ticks all of the boxes—he has a plan and a vision, he’s great at recruiting, he’s saying and doing all the right things as head coach, he’s had a positive impact on this team and their play on the field (along with Busch, even in the Illinois game), and for some of the boosters and purists, he’s a Nebraska man. Why not hire Mickey, make him a CEO coach (a la Mack Brown), and go use our B1G money to get the best OC and DC out there that aligns with the vision he has?
  20. You’re not gonna take scrubs and make worldbeaters out of them even if Saban was coaching them. Best you can do is teach them to not beat themselves and to play as a team, and let things fall where they may. That’s what Mickey has done to this point. Do I think Mickey is a great Xs and Os guy? No. But he can recruit and he can run a program as the face of it…and let’s be honest, the last time we had a face on this program that sold it to parents and recruits successfully, most of these kids were mere bad decisions made in a bar somewhere.
  21. LOL…people are quick to blame Mickey and say we didn’t see any improvement when our defense would have given up as soon as QB1 went down under Frost. Defense didn’t quit and they were given some real s*** situations thanks to the offense. Plus this team has been playing more disciplined and hasn’t been racking up penalties like previous Frost-led teams. I do blame Whipple, because getting QB2 ready, whomever that may be, falls under his responsibility. Until we lost Thompson, we were in the game—after, it makes no sense to trot Logan Smothers out there if he’s not your QB2 (unless QB2 was outside on a smoke break and someone had to run and get him). And if your O-line is getting shredded in the middle, move the pocket/use misdirection to keep them at home. All Illinois had to do was line up, blitz one (or two), rinse, repeat. Yes, there’s only so much Whipple can do to polish a turd (same with the OL), but his play calling looked like he gave up after Chuba went out and showed everyone he shouldn’t be a FBS QB. Special Teams, save for the one block, did okay. Still don’t get why we can’t block to return…but they at least didn’t cost us the game. If Thompson is okay, we could possibly beat Iowa, Minny, and Wisky if this defense keeps playing well. Without Thompson, the season is done.
  22. Number 4 is incorrect. The kids weren’t committing penalties and making sloppy plays, save for the late hit Personal foul. Plus, when Frost was Coach, that defense would have given up as soon as the QB1 went down. The defense did really well, considering…
