  1. His offers are from the MAC mostly, and Cinci may offer if DJ Woods flakes out. Wanted to go to a Big Ten school, but none were interested.
  2. No doubt: I call shenanigans.
  3. Better competition, less 'tude. Works for me.
  4. Perhaps we only had a spot or 2 D lineman, and he needed to commit last weekend if he wanted to come to NU? Is Bo purposely taking a smaller class this year so he'll have some extra for next year for JC transfers and early enrollees?
  5. Tennessee's to lose. Probably didn't stand a chance this late in the process. He wanted to go to LSU, but they never offered. If NU never offered, could be for some of the same reasons LSU didn't. Did he lose a star recently?
  6. Badder than old King Kong? Meaner than a junkyard dog? I can see him now, coming in on offense for the goal line, jumbo formation. Or do you think Bo keeps him to himself? I think Watson being there gives us a hint that he might play both ways
  7. Munson may be right. The in home visit by our coaches was a slam dunk! The brother wrestling and the current success of that program is having are really helping our chances. It would put as at 70% right now. Hope we get him. 4 wins over top 10 teams including Okie State on National TV? That's one heck of week or two. I'm still a little worried about Illinois and Zook's sway over people, but NU would seem to be the best choice for the brothers.
  8. I was thinking Beanie Wells with the patience, cutback running, and break away speed. Let's go get him.
  9. Not sure if it is related, but looks like the QB for Trotwood, Dominic Britt, had verballed to Cinci also. My guess is he picked a school close to home where he knew a few people so when the coaches bailed or got fired he wouldn't be up the creek.
  10. I'm guessing it was the only place that wanted him as WR. Or he just liked the coaches and wanted to be close to home, and Ohio State was definitely no longer interested.
  11. Verbal to Cincinnati over Michigan. Guys at Buckeye Planet say Penn State and Ohio State said no thanks. I guess the injuries and the coaching changes really had him on the move.
  12. The best one on there is he gets decleated defending a kick return. What's that doing on a recruiting video. Well, gets back up, runs 70 yards down field, and makes the tackle on the guy. Some of that determination seemed to be missing at times last year.
  13. Of course when Pinkel goes to Arkansas in two years, this will all be moot.
  14. Never know. I prefer to live in a place where it snows, and i'm from California. Actually, Cali has been kind of cold lately. Might not be as big of a factor right now. The high in Berkeley this weekend will be in the mid-50s with lows in high-30s. Not exactly beach weather. I'm not actually sure how nice the beaches near there are anyway. I know the beaches across the bay in San Fran are pretty cold well into April. OK so I'd take it over highs in the teens, but I'd be surprised if there were hotties laying out, sunning themselves. So hopefully, the big advantages Nebraska has over Cal in other areas will sway him.
  15. So much for trusting Wikipedia. I know better than that...wiki is just too easy. Someone needs to edit the "Dean Steinkuhler" page. Thanks, though. -Vote Quimby What was wrong with this?
  16. I still have no idea why you made the comment "Do not be surprised if he never makes his visit. Zach is 100% on his decision to visit Lincoln on the 18th and not the 11th as previously scheduled. Do not be surprised if he never makes his visit to UCONN.
  17. Ohio State wanted him at CB, but I think he wanted to play WR.
  18. According to BuckeyePlanet: Brother of former Buckeye Ashton Youboty and same HS as J.B. Shugarts. and Missouri and Michigan State were leading
  19. Too bad. Would have liked to see how he did on the field.
  20. agree, can't believe the academic levels at Auburn are too terribly high?? I'd guess the class size would allow more personal instruction to help him catch up. Assuming smaller classes.
  21. I hate to see the injuries no matter what side they're on. Shame we won't be able to see them on the field.
  22. If I'm reading this right, Kennedy was here when we went from the scoring explosion to getting pushed around by Oklahoma, Miami, and Syracuse (WTF?) among others. He goes to Ohio State (at the same time Bo was there) and helps with the transformation of a team full of slow white guys into a team full of "slow black guys" that gets pushed around by Penn State, Michigan, and Illinois. Gets dumped along with the rest of the staff after a blow-out loss to South Carolina in which the former Mr. Ohio outscores Ohio State. Resurfaces at Pittsburgh where the football team is pretty much mediocre the whole time, but impresses enough to get him back to Nebraska where he helps the staff set several records. Now I have no idea how much the S&C coach contributes to the results on the field but considering 2 of the 3 schools he's worked for have won NCs after he left and all 3 have been disappointing while he's been there, you start thinking this guy is really unlucky or maybe he's missing something that another S&C might contribute. Of course four years ago I thought he sounded like a great hire so what the heck do I know.
  23. I believe this will be the main focus as establishing relationships with kids who are already committed to or leaning towards other programs this late in the process seems unrealistic. Well based on recent activity, I stand corrected. At least we are getting visits from some guys who were not necessarily on our list before.
  24. I like us recruiting smart players. Certainly don't have to worry about him qualifying.
