  1. Just Barfield. But also, Hagg lost his blackshirt sometime ago.
  2. I'm old an computer illiterate, but the following is from a Jacksonville newspaper: "After the practice, Nebraska's coaches stayed behind to conduct a clinic for area high school coaches. They were invited before Christmas via e-mail. Nebraska broke the coaches into small groups (offensive line, defensive line, secondary, etc.) and talked Xs and Os, drills and training methods. A Nebraska sports information official said the coaches usually do this in bowl games in recruiting hotbeds such as Florida and Texas. Pretty smart. But also a nice gesture."
  3. Looks like the staff got it right on their early evaluation!
  4. Haven't heard anything of Robinson in recent weeks, except he may not qualify academically. Any reports on game performance or grades?

  6. It's gonna' take all my extra cash just to get there. I'll be the guy living out of the cardboard box under the I-95 overpass. Just look for the one with red spraypaint graffiti on it.
  7. While checking out Clemson's roster, I see that the vast majority of their players are from instate. With the talent rich hotbed of the southeast, they don't have to venture far. Most others are from Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama. They don't venture far north of the Mason-Dixon Line (must be the Yankee thing) - 2 from Ohio, 1 from Illinois. They've stayed clear of anything within the Louisiana Purchase zone. They did venture to California for 1 and Texas for 1. Most reports indicate they've recruited some top-shelf classes in recent years and are stacked with talent.
  8. Leon Jackson recruited as a RB - didn't make the cut - moved to DB(safety?) for short while - transferred out to Hawaii as RB - I think played OK
  9. Looks like mostly a 3 star median in those groupings. It would take a little research, but it would be nice to see how the all-conference lineup looks. First and second teams.
  10. It's often said the most popular player on a football team is the backup quarterback. Well, for now Clemson's backup quarterback, Willy Korn, is my favorite Clemson player. Unless he comes in and beats us with his team.
  11. My recollection tells me the kid was put on a short leash when he was allowed in by Pelini after his hometown altercation. He may have blown it. Maybe not. He's placed himself in a precarious situation for sure.
  12. Try this one. The first one blotted out. I'm no computer guru. Somebody can fix this for me. Link
  13. Just when the article has lulled you into a kinder and gentler state. The last couple of paragraphs remind you what you're dealing with. CU week!!! Game's on!!!! Link
  14. Stoops hired him shortly after Norvelle's head coach was fired last season.
  15. The traditional 'placed them in their lockers' was a nice touch (or non touch). Gives a player the right environment to reflect on the accomplishment.
  16. I think 'House of Spears' (Ndamukong translated) will stay for his Sr. season. It will increase his draft stock by tens of thousands if he stays healthy. These guys want to play for Bo. And yes, he is all Big 12 caliber.
  17. Should know within 24 hours. Coach Carl says that DT's are a rare species. None of the good ones fall though the cracks.
  18. He only made the verbal slip because he wasn't comfortable being out of uniform. He obviously didn't have his wardrobe assistant, that hands him his cap and holds his helmet when he's on the sideline during games, at his disposal going into this interview.
  19. “I always make plays in the backfield,” he said. “I was second in tackles for loss and I had about 14. … I got quicker compared to last year. I went from a 5.2 40-yard dash to a 4.9 as my best, and then I went from a 4.6 shuttle time to a 4.2 shuttle. Then, I jumped a 32-inch vertical.” Even before the beginning of fall camp, I've been very interested in DT prospects. We need and will take more in this class. I have reservations that this shorter, heavy guy has a 32 inch vertical. But, if he does. Get his butt in Lincoln! That is atleticism.
  20. Great!! Now lets add a defensive tackle.
  21. I'd say he's potentially a center with a 4.0 gpa. Definitely Academic All American potential.
  22. It will be a 'sleeper'. Someone we've not become largely aware of yet. Bo's staff will develop some guys and we'll be pleasantly surprised by someone that hasn't been in the limelight.
  23. My wish is that the current roster is sufficiently laden with adequate, but untapped, talent that we could redshirt all recruits and have a return to the times of 5th year players tearing it up, year after year into posterity.
  24. (3) Dr. Tom used the additional roster size as a means to operate two offensive and two defensive practice stations simultaneously. Rather than just one of each. This method permitted double the number of players getting quality reps compared to the competition. A plus for building depth at all positions. Some head coaches don't subscribe to this approach. The optimum actual number of walk-ons has been referred to as 'critical mass' by TO.
  25. Not to quibble, but Solich was 9-4 his first year, Mack Brown was 9-3, and Mike Leach was 7-6. Some valid points made by JGS30. I don't know about Tech, but Nebraska's and Texas' programs weren't in a shambles when changes were made.
