  1. Some more recent offers: Wake Forest, S.Florida, San Diego St., Ole Miss previously: Missouri,Nebraska,Arkansas,Iowa,Oklahoma,Kansas Here's a nice video that shows why there is such interest: http://showmesportsonline.com/scheelhaase_video Thanks for the link. I would love to see more film of this guy, especially his passing. But it at least looks like he has the physical skills of a D1 QB. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up.
  2. The spring game could make this more interesting. While it's Joey's job to lose for now, if Witt or Lee looks good in the spring game and Joe costs us a game or two with interceptions, I wouldn't be surprised to see fans calling for the backup. I just hope it doesn't get as ugly as when it happened with Scott Frost and Frankie London (another example that the coaches know much, much better than the fans).
  3. I think that when we criticize Joe for his INTs, it is not in ignorance of the game situations at the time of many of them. However, the last image we have of him is the one where he cost us the game against Colorado. Say what you want about the D in that game, but Joe's 3rd quarter was absolutely horrible. That being said, I am excited to have Ganz back. The experience he got last year taught him a few things I'm sure. With another spring and fall camp under his belt, I'm betting he becomes really good at deciding when to make the deep throw, when to dump it off, when to tuck and run, and when to throw it away. The O should be just fine this year.
  4. He'll definitely cause a few fumbles. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes some nice plays on special teams this fall, even as a freshman.
  5. You can catch a few highlights of this guy on youtube...So far I've only found ones of him running the ball. He looks like a great athlete, reminds me a bit of Bobby Newcombe. Let's get this kid an offer, Bo!
  6. Good balancing comment. While the Defense in 2003 had its moments, the overall team wasn't very good at all. Similarly, the 2007 Offense had its moments, but like the 2003 D "got spanked by anyone with a pulse"...and obviously the overall team in 2007 sucked. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that we have many problems on this team. While I hope we win 'em all next year, I think the best we can expect (even with a little luck) is 9-3 and 7-5 is fairly likely. I think we have a great coach in Bo, but it is going to take a couple years at least to get this thing turned around.
  7. I would agree that the offense has not clicked since Crouch....that no joke......Lord had his moments, but NU has lacked a decent offense since Crouch Last year the Huskers fielded a team that should have been rolling up yards...but BC and Keller Never got it goin....not until the threat of the QB running was returned to the Huskers offense , did NU look good......as to your claim that NU only scored because the other teams subs were in is a joke....the Huskers Never Played KU's Subs or CU's Subs...and KSU played hard to the end..........nobody plays their subs agin Nebraska....they alsways want to pour it on.....Give that a rest....Ganz and the boys turned the corner and why?????? Because man for man...the Huskers have more talent on the offensive side of the ball than anyone in the North ................and yes this includes MU and KU armi, i bet i would love what you are smokin! MU beat us 41-6. Thankfully we did not have to play KU last season, it would have been a big win for them too. the O still needs polishing. we didn't play KU last year? didn't we score a bunch of points against them? ksu Sorry Hunter...KU beat us 76-39 last year. It must have been just too painful for you to remember.

Thankfully we did not have to play KU last season, it would have been a big win for them too. the O still needs polishing. the 08 have not lost a game......so if you are goin to talk football.then tell me how MU has more talent TE......Cauffman....Hetzer???????? O-line............no doubt NU QB.........Ganz 19 td's 8 int's in three games......or Chase....30 td's all year......I like Ganz at home +NU RB...Lucky and Co. are light years ahead of Earl Goldsmith.....NU wins this one WR..........Maclin is awsome.......but the Tigers live and die with TE and RB play....got to like a draw at home in this column........slight edge to MU unfortunately for you.Keller and BC won't be around to mismanage the game...when Ganz or Lee breaks off a big run early to give the Huskers a lead at home....You will be N then Armi, you don't get beat 41-6 to a team that is less talented, hell, even to a team that is evenly matched. Missouri's players on D were light years ahead of ours, and let's look at your offensive comparisons: TE....Coffman is NFL quality, there is no question that he is head and shoulders above some unknown JC player. O-line...no doubt NU?? the only team able to get to the QB was OU, and did you see how many rushing yards they racked up against Arkansas? QB...a guy who threw 8 INTs in 3 games and cost his team the win against a less-than-medicore CU team, or a Heisman finalist? Come on. I love Joe, but Chase Daniel is a proven great player. WR....we lost our best WR, theirs is a probable NFL first-rounder with blazing speed. More than a slight edge to MU there. So there's how MU has more talent. All this being said, I don't think it is out of the question that we beat the Tigers in '08 in Lincoln, but it would be a pretty big upset.
  9. comparing the two ranking lists is interesting, but I think huskerguy hit the nail on the head when he noted that "classes 5-8 are all pretty similar".
  10. Fairly reasonable predictions, although I think they overestimate CU and underestimate NU. I think 8-4 is as bad as we'll do, with a realistic shot at being 9-3 or 10-2, with losses to OU and MU and either VT or KU (we will have an upset victory this year). KU and NU fight it out for 2nd in the B12 North, with CU a couple games back (they will lose at least one or two they are not supposed to).
  11. Our chances of beating OU next year have improved dramatically. He will take that nice offense with the power running game and screw it all up with motions shifts, etc. Welcome to 5 delay-of-game penalties each week OU!
  12. how do you think Bill Callahan would look in purple? Even he would be an improvement over the joker they have now. Freeman has to be kicking himself...what a waste of talent.
  13. From his video, this kid has some nice speed and moves; he seemed very slippery, making tons of yards-after-the-catch. He would be a very nice addition to the class. BTW, there is video of him on youtube.
  14. If he waits that long Nebraska may not be an option with spots filling up fast the last couple days. The train is just about ready to pull out...when it all is said and done, we should end up with a top 25 rated class. Not bad for only a couple months work.
  15. I'm really getting excited about this class that Pelini and Co. are bringing in. It seems to be low on ego (apart from maybe Okafor and Compton) and high on football ability. Not to mention, there is some serious athletic ability coming in. Plus, the large number of walk-ons are going to add some serious toughness and work ethic. I'm not expecting a huge impact from them this season or even next, but 3-4 years from now we can have a top 10 team with these guys as the foundation. They almost remind me of the guys who came in before the 1991 season. Not a lot of hype, but tons of desire. Add a few playmakers in the next class or two, and we've got our mojo back!
  16. I love the attitude he brings...he would be a great addition to the blackshirts. Position wise, does he stay at safety or move up to linebacker?
  17. yes I do...I have to wear a tie everyday, so I like to change up the knot a bit. Call me crazy, but I like it.
  18. While I don't think having highly ranked recruits is totally necessary to have a great team, consistent classes in the Top 15-20 keeps good headlines around the program and will help us land those one or two "difference makers" each year. Incidentally, we are not far from that this year. 6 or so of our "3 stars" are "almost 4 stars", meaning they are rated 5.7, wherer 5.8 garners that 4th star (on rivals). If those guys were 4 stars we'd have a Top 20 class easy.
  19. MU and KU will probably be better than us next year, and I'd say we are even with CU. More than likely we will be fighting for 3rd place in the Big 12 North. We won't have to worry about how people view us if we win out for several years.
  20. I've got to go with Marlon...he is going to be huge this year.
  21. This kid looks like a stud. I can't believe he doesn't have a bunch of big-time offers. He's got nice speed, great hands, and some serious toughness. I was really impressed with his downfield blocking. With his package of abilities, he would fit in our offense so well.
  22. I am not to concerned with being a "top rated class". I just want Coach Bo and the rest of the staff to get kids that they can see will fit their system. Heart, Determination, and Will is what I want to see in our recruits this year! I agree with you, and I think from watching some of the video that these new guys will fit the mold.
