  1. I have a feeling we're going to break the top 25 this year although it will be in the twenties. I feel like we might get to #23 or so. I honestly kinda hate having to talk about us losing this game and that game because Nebraska has to go in with the attitude that we can win each game. What if we pull out the upset a few times this year? In 2008 Nebraska is the team where nobody knows what to expect from them. In a way, that makes us very dangerous. We're that team with nothing to lose and the only way to go from here is up. That, and it's payback time. It's not about where we've been, it's about where we're going! BACK TO THE TOP!
  2. Awesome to see a Navy guy that is going to be a part of the Sea of Red. Thank GOD, Pelini brought back the Walk On Program, because it adds to the amount of heart and determination on the field!
  3. Great Video. I totally agree with what you said, "You can't know where you're going, if you don't know where you've been." Nebraska through the Devaney era and Tom Osborne and Frank Solich, when we were down, we didn't hang our heads. We overcame, and kicked ass. Callahan comes to town and we have a coach who looks like he's ready to bury his head in the field. When the desire isn't there it's hard for the players to have direction. Nebraska is getting the shot in the arm. The players and the fans. It's like when you watch the video you remember what was once great. How long has it been where you get to where you're counting down the days to the start of the season, and you're pacing a rut into the floor? Now that I've written a book, it's videos like this that stir the Husker Spirit in your soul.. It's time to come out of hibernation, because The Big Red Machine is hungry.
  4. I'd try to catch the Cornhusker games on PPV. I remember games where the Cornhuskers would be on PPV and I'd call around to different Bar and Grills in Omaha to try to see if they were covering the game. I think Nebraska will earn TV time early on. If I have to, I'll watch the Bo Pelini show to catch full highlights of the games.
  5. I voted too. Lets go Nebraska. I have Versus on Cox Digital and would love to have Husker games on TV. If Nebraska gets enough votes, would the games be on the Versus channel or would we have to order some College Football package?
  6. Awesome logos. If you'd like any suggestions, I think a Blackshirt logo where you see a opposing team cowering from the Skull and Crossbones would be sweet.
  7. In the words from "The Replacements", What Nebraska needs to win is HEART. I think that Bo Pelini is instilling into the minds of the players that it's time to run through the opposition. Nebraska was supposed to have such a blue chip recruiting class under Callahan, and we didn't do so hot because he didn't understand the desire that has to be there in the players. The Blackshirts are going to be WIRED in '08 too and looking to sack the QB's and get some touchdowns of their own. I wish that we had a shot against USC with the Pelini Huskers rather than the Callahan version.
  8. Jason Peter might have made some bad decisions in his life, but at least he's gotten better. I remember when Christian Peter and Jason Peter were at Nebraska, they were awesome!
  9. Bill Callahan completed his media training at "Media Training 101" and got a C+ . He was 1 point away from Getting a D grade. Callahan was quoted when he saw his grade saying, "I'm very pleased with the outcome. I think I've done a spectacular job." Media training? Maybe he needs to pick up this book:
  10. Yes, as a matter of fact Scientology does have a god, but this guy just ate him.
  11. Great Article! I loved it. I remember reading it at the time it first came to print, and reading it again brings a tear to my eye. Nebraska Cornhuskers of 1994 had so much on their minds and had to go through so much on their way to a National Championship. Tommy Frazier goes down with a blood clot in his leg, Brook Berringer has a collapsed lung and still plays through the Wyoming game... So much more... Nebraska took the "We Refuse To Lose" Motto and came 1:16 or Wide Left, however you look at it, and took 1994 as "Unfinished Business". There was just a feeling in 1994 that somehow, someway Nebraska was going to do it. I remember watching the 1995 Orange Bowl in my parents living room with all the relatives there and they were talking about how 1971 was so long ago. When NBC cut to a commercial I grabbed my "ghetto-blaster" and cued up the song by Queen. I came upstairs and nobody knew I had even left because they were glued to the TV, and saw the screen just as Costa was sacked. Then he steps back and is smothered in a sack again. Just as the announcers were explaining "1 more play between Nebraska and a National Championship", I turned up the volume and took it off of pause just as Costa released the ball and got chills. Moss intercepted the ball and everybody went nuts. I stepped out onto my parents porch and people were shooting off fireworks like it was the 4th of July. From time to time, I still watch my video of the game on that night and the "Finished Business" Video
  12. EXCELLENT! I could totally see Nebraska using something like that before the first home game of the season. The music is awesome too! I don't know why but that video gets your heart racing and you get tears in your eyes which are full of pride. Good Job!
  13. How can a LSU talk about Husker Fans not being passionate about Football? Brett Mushburger has stated before that the "Greatest College Football Fans are Cornhusker Fans". I hope I'm not the only Cornhusker fan that will get up on Saturday Morning to watch College Game Day, then sit in front of the TV all day watching College Football. Not to mention, the LSU fan needs to get to a Sports Bar when the Cornhuskers are on TV let alone he could take a nap on Dodge Street or Interstate 80. I think Cornhusker fans also watch the polls to see who has to get beat ahead of us for the Cornhuskers to go up in the polls. Maybe the LSU fan needs to realize that College Football is like a second religion in Nebraska. Some say that Nebraska Football is a second religion with it's services on Saturday.
  14. Awesome to see the "HUSKER POWER" is back. Those were some great lifts the Huskers were doing. That power and speed. And the way the guys were looking for the ball and staying at full speed. This is going to be an explosive year!
  15. I think Coach Pelini's speech was exactly what he planned to say. He gave praise to the team for a great effort throughout Spring Conditioning, and tells them there is still work to be done. What's awesome is he explains to the players that this is all going to be worth it. Nebraska will be running on all cylinders in 2008 and will be awesome. It's great to see the fire back in the eyes of the players.
  16. I wonder if Pelini kept it simple to an extent so the teams we'll be facing don't have game film to look at before the season begins. I bet during the regular season Nebraska is going to really let it fly.
  17. 84V3kfMMNBU Found this one, looks like the best angle I could find on youtube. I'm not sure if this is the official one for 2008, but I do like the intensity from the players.
  18. Does Chase Daniels eat boogers at the spring game or does he wait till the Regular Season when they're more ripe?
  19. Sure thing ESPN, because lets look at how far Talent got us in the Callahan era. Talent only gets you so far. It's the will and intensity that helps you win. Nebraska has the desire they were lacking while Callhan was in charge. Personally I think we'll shock a lot of people in not only how many wins we get, but our win margin.
  20. XORGoTmLJ8 Today is the day that we lost a GREAT Nebraska QB who had the NFL draft to look forward too. It was mentioned in the newspapers that Brook was going to be the first Nebraska QB to play as a QB in the NFL. I remember April 18th 1996 hearing the news that Brook was gone. It was so surreal. I thought I was all a dream. I was looking forward to going with my brother to the Lincoln to see the 1995 Champ Huskers get their rings, and then go to the Red-White game and watch the NFL draft all weekend to see where Brook would end up. (Whatever team Brook went to was going to be my favorite NFL team). I went to the Red-White game that year, and listened to Play by Play on KFAB and Kent Pavelka was not his usual self on the mike. The Red-White game, he explained, "was a release of emotion for a fallen teammate".
  21. I thought that looked like Steve Pederson. I wonder what position he was in at the time?
  22. Just to give a general idea 6h55FzRJLbc&feature This video gives me chills
  23. I keep having this idea run through my head for the 2008 season. Former players that Played for Devaney and Osborne expressing what it means to be a Cornhusker as some fire up music is playing in the background. Then, as the players begin to say "I played for Nebraska", we cycle to 2008 and the team captains give their insight as to what it means to be a Cornhusker player as "Contender" plays. The video ends with the captains expressing "I play for Nebraska". Then Sirius and the Tunnel Walk begin....
  24. I keep getting this feeling that Nebraska turns full circle in 2008. It will be awesome to see former players on the sidelines again. I wonder what Callahan was so worried about with having former players instilling tradition into the player's minds?
