  1. So happy for the Nebraska win against Iowa today! GBR!  I’m also happy for my NWMSU Bearcats as they won their 4th MIAA Basketball title! https://bearcatsports.com/news/2019/3/10/mens-basketball-northwest-claims-4th-straight-miaa-tourney-crown.aspx

  2. Happy Birthday Coach Osborne!:bigredn:

  3. Leaving sunny San Juan for the freezer of Omaha. San Juan has recovered nicely from Hurricane Maria. We were here last year and it was a mess.

The cruise was great. We heard Omaha got 8 inches of snow. Is that true? Wish you all were here!

We’re in Miami at the moment. Soaking up the last bit of warmth before boarding for home!

San Juan was the first to be rebuilt because it's a tourist destination. Everywhere else...it's still months to years away from the people I work with on the island.

And what the hell happened to you Omaha that you keep getting dumped on? Hell, you're only four inches away from having a white Canadian Jamacian-style rapper call you Informer.

  4. It’s a balmy 81 degrees here in San Juan, Puerto Rico! Getting ready to Leave for our Cruise-Caribbean here we come!

    Wish you all were here!:D

Enjoy vacay! How is San Juan? Is Puerto Rico still in shambles like they say it is, or is all the touristy stuff back up and running?

  5. Looks like our Rex gets a Super Bowl ring! I’m not a Patriots fan but love that Rex! GBR!

Can't believe he has a Super Bowl ring and that he also contributed and was definitely a part of it all.  He so deserves it.

I agree! I also read that Jack Hoffman was at the game! Team Jack continues :)

  6. These refs at the Nebraska Rutgers game are TERRIBLE! (Sweet last second 3 pointer by Palmer though!)

Oh yeah, Rutgers is really know for getting home cooking from the refs.

  7. Even though I would like the Chiefs to win, I love watching Rex play! (It would be rather fun for Suh and Rex play against each other! SUHper Bowl!;))

The Chiefs are ahead for now but the Pats are about to score. Rex is playing so well. Gotta love that guy!

I’’m pulling for him.  I liked him when he was with Philly, but just choked in big games.  I would love for this guy to finally get a ring.

  9. Clemson’s Quarterback  (Trevor Lawrence) reminds me of the quarterback ‘Sunshine’ from the movie ‘Remember the Titans’.

I have to say that Trevor Lawrence is an amazing young man of character.

      (Despite the WAY he talks.)

Anyone who gives kudos to the Lord Jesus Christ not only for their talents but for their life period rates in my book. Well done young man.

  10. Do you and your families open a gift on Christmas Eve?

We never used to open gifts on Christmas Day.  We always went to church and came home to gifts and appetizers (grown ups drank :) )  Then on Christmas Day we would have a big dinner without the "hub bub" of presents.

Now, with a wife that sometimes works on Christmas Eve (like tonight), and living in different towns than our parents and siblings, opening gifts are a crap shoot.  We'll probably start tomorrow and finish sometime around New Years Eve..haha!!

We open one on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas Day.

Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoy your families today!

  11. These refs are terrible! That was clearly goaltending!:ahhhhhhhh

    1. swmohusker

      swmohusker

That was goaltending.   Overall I thought the refs were great.  They let defenders go straight up and contest layups without calling a whistle every time they saw contact.

    2. ladyhawke

      ladyhawke

I guess for me I saw them call fouls on us but not the same foul when OSU committed them. (But I’m sure I’m biased;))

  12. Knappic did you see this?? The Tour de France won’t be the same without him. I always figured Phil (Ligget) would go first. So incredibly sad:(

We really should be discussing this on the football board and how Ligget's passing will impact the Nebraska football team.

I’m glad you agree VectorVictor except it was Paul Sherwin who passed away not Phil Ligget:D

  13. I don’t know if this has already been posted but-Congratulations to Rex & Danielle Burkhead on the birth of their son! https://boston.cbslocal.com/2018/11/20/rex-burkhead-had-a-great-excuse-for-being-late-to-patriots-practice/

  14. As we close this football season I just want to thank Mavric and the rest of the HB Crew who have kept this board running smoothly. Thanks All!

  15.  How fitting that we won this game by field goals only on a day when we honored Sam! :bigredn:

    1. Scarlet Overkill

And Mike Sadler.  I just said to my husband that it was fitting that the day they honor kickers from both sides, the only points scored were from the kickers.

Thanks for pointing that out, @ladyhawke. It is a special moment to reflect on.

  17. It’s a thing of beauty to watch Scott Frost teach on the sidelines. He was talking with Martinez after the last 3 and out and you can tell he was teaching.

It was so refreshing vs watching the previous coaches who screamed at players or simply did nothing. GBR!:bigredn:

  18. At least we were competitive. GBR:bigredn:

  19. I’m sure the answer to this question is buried somewhere in the 15 page Gebbia thread but I’m going anyway: Did anyone else hear that Gebbia didn’t want to leave Nebraska but his Dad wanted him to leave. This is sad-nothing like helicopter parents.

    1. Vince R.

      Vince R.

It's a mixture of that and coaches hounding him once Adrian was named starter. Coaches are just as concerned with tracking guys they lost in the recruiting trail for reasons like this. I am sure coaches called him and his dad and explained why transferring now was better.

  20. Can you image what that game would’ve been like if MR & Co. we’re still coaching?

It would've been a butt stomping of the first order!!!

Could I imagine if MR was still our coach?  No, my brain has a self defense mechanism

  21. Hey could someone who is at the game describe the Tunnel Walk. Did they play Sirius?  Scott looked really pumped

    1. ladyhawke

      ladyhawke

They didn’t show all of it on tv just when Scott and the team came out on the field.

    2. Vizsla1

      Vizsla1

They started Sirius- then music stopped and broke into a song I have no clue about...scratching my head and asked some younger kids what it was and they did not recognize it either...

    3. knapplc

      knapplc

@Vizsla1  Nobody near me recognized the song, either. But the sound quality on it wasn't great, and people were clapping and making noise.
