  1. Yes good point about the people that cannot stand the entire game, or even for any of it. Also I can understand wanting to stand and scream, but really need to stand on their seats? If they stood on the ground in front of their seats I really wouldn't think this would be as big of an issue. Anyways hopefully this works out without too much trouble, don't need anything to take away from the first few games of Pelini's career.
  2. 1 Loss last season, a win in the orange bowl over a legitimate Virginia Tech team and you think 5th in the conference is optimistic? Anyways we're probably sitting about right, though I think A & M should be below us and Colorado probably above us.
  3. 08/30 Western Michigan - W 09/06 San Jose State - W 09/13 New Mexico State - W 09/27 Virginia Tech - W 10/04 Missouri - L 10/11 @ Texas Tech - W 10/18 @ Iowa State - L 10/25 Baylor - W 11/01 @ Oklahoma - W 11/08 Kansas - W 11/15 @ Kansas State - L 11/28 Colorado - W 9-3 With an unexpected win over OU and an unexpected loss to ISU.
  4. You still operate under the assumption that your behavior is somehow tied into the color of one's hat that they wear, where as the reality is that there are asshats everywhere and it doens't matter if the subject is sports, politics, religion, games, or heck, even the weather. How true. Weather: Anyways back on topic I also voted for CU, this poll isn't asking whether every single person from that teams fanbase is a terrible person but rather which teams fanbase has more bad apples than the other teams fanbases. Just my opinion though
  5. Voted as well. Though I'd bet that even if Herbie wins they choose someone else for the cover.
  6. I'd guess Holt. As for the group. It's obviously no where near the experience we had last year but as for raw talent one can only guess for the most part. But hopefully we won't be using the receivers as much as we have been, more running game needed.
  7. Hehehe, I've heard this quote a few times: "No Husker ticket holder ever dies "
  8. In the year 2000: Sat, Oct 07 Iowa State 2 - at Ames, Iowa 49 - 27 (W) ABC
  9. LSU's Total Defense Ranking: 2003 - 1st 2004 - 3rd 2005 - 3rd (Bo joined staff) 2006 - 3rd 2007 - 3rd Anyone else think it's creepy they had the 3rd rated defense 4 straight years? LSU's Passes Intercepted Ranking: 2003 - 6th (NU 1st w/Bo) 2004 - 34th 2005 - 77th (Bo joined staff) 2006 - 21st 2007 - 4th Just some food for thought. Btw this is what I'm using, it's fantastic: http://web1.ncaa.org/stats/StatsSrv/rankin...p;sportCode=MFB
  10. I would think it played a part in it, but definately not the only reason, and maybe not even the biggest factor.
  11. No problem, I also agree with you, not sure what everyone is yelling about. Seem like valid points to me. Hopefully they will be proven wrong, but only time will tell, there's no way of knowing right now.
  12. He didn't mean the North is tougher than the South, just tougher than when we dominated.
  13. He's not just some assistant, he's Assistant Head Coach BAH!! Not sure how that happened but LOL
  14. I think depending on who Nicks and Bowman go to, they both may be starting next year, also look for Purify to be a solid #3 receiver.
  15. You'd think so but the Heisman is really only given to QB's and RB's so when you talk about best players of all time you'd leave out the whole defensive side of the ball, wr's, lineman, etc.
  16. RUSHING GP-GS Att Gain Loss Net Avg TD Long Avg/G ------------------------------------------------------------------- Lucky, Marlon 12-12 206 1057 38 1019 4.9 9 41 84.9 Yep 4.9 yards per carry is absolutely horrible, bleh he can't make anyone miss or run between the tackles. /sarcasm Really I think Marlon Lucky with his speed and shiftiness is of similar style to Marshall Faulk (my favorite player of all-time) By no means do I think he has the same talent level, or that he'll become as successful, but I believe they are of the same style running back. Both being smaller shiftier guys that were also a passing threat. I think whatever Lucky does it will be the right move for him personally, now being a Husker fan I obviously want him here for another year. But, if he decides to declare for the draft that would be fine by me.
  17. I agree they are more than just talent. It helps instill the tradition and respect for nebraska football that is otherwise lacking.
  18. Todd Peterson #25 Andre Jones #26 (not Dan Erickson)
  19. Josh Davis #66 LeKevin Smith #40 Cory Schlesinger #27 (think WR)
  20. Also having multiple backs opens up the use to throw out 2 backs, say in this case Lucky and Castille and then you can do so much from that it's almost ridiculous. Drop Lucky out as a receiver, pitch it either way, use Castille as a lead blocker, run with either of them many differenct ways, etc. Not to mention using multiple backs keeps them all fresh and we'd be able to keep pounding hard at defenses even into the fourth quarter.
  21. Lol only reason I posted these stats that troubled me as people posting stats to try and justify why they think Bo will be great here. So I used those same facts to raise some doubt. But anyways, I also agree with Addison that we will need to totally rebuild, start completely over. This will take some time, time I'm willing to wait. I just really hope Bo can turn it around enough to not get totally demolished next year like we were this year. Need some more exciting games to get the blood pressure up XD - modchamp Go Big Red
  22. The thing that has me concerned is the fourth quarter, not the third. SCORE BY QUARTERS 1st 2nd 3rd 4th Total -------------------- --- --- --- --- --- Nebraska............ 93 74 95 60 - 322 Opponents........... 48 43 22 75 - 188 Though something that is encouraging: TOTAL OFFENSE G Plays Rush Pass Total Avg/G ---------------------------------------------- Lord, Jammal 13 391 948 1305 2253 173.3 Davis, Josh 13 138 600 0 600 46.2 Ross, Cory 13 130 575 0 575 44.2 Horne, David 12 107 441 0 441 36.8 Dailey, Joe 8 47 122 117 239 29.9 Total.......... 13 908 3063 1422 4485 345.0 Opponents...... 13 875 1551 2312 3863 297.2 Even only averaging 345 total yards of offense per game (vs. 468.2 ypg this year) we still managed to out average our opponents by 10.3 points per game and held out opponents to less than 300 ypg vs over 470 this year.
  23. Lol totally hilarious. Though in all seriousness if we were going to change to a playoff system, it couldn't be done like this. First of all conferences should be rearranged to have 12 teams each so we can have an easy conference championship setup similar to the Big XII and all conference champions should get a bid into the tournament along with say 5-6 at large bids. My results that I found totally hilarious: I think Nebraska had about as good a shot at winning an NC as Missouri did
  24. I think it is ridiculous. The offense is going to remain the same, for the most part and the defense can only be upgraded. I find it ridiculous that these kids have 0 commitment to the university and are tied to a coach. I guess that is just how it is now. Really I think it is simple --- kids want to win. If they have choices (in that multiple programs have given them offers) they will choose far more often than not that program that they feel has the best chance of winning (and, at the same time, where they also feel comfortable with the coaches --- those they will work with and for each day). Right now there are many, many programs that have better prospectus for winning than does NU. So, most will opt elsewhere. Until we win some this will not change. Losing teams tend to get recruits who were overlooked elsewhere. NU is a losing team. The new staff will have to take what they can and hope to do something with it. Kuli and others had better options. More power to them. If all it is is just winning then how can a program like Notre Dame be pulling in some very nice recruits? You can't say they were better than us this year That's just 1 example I'm sure there are others, of schools performing at fairly low levels but still manage to get some good recruits.
