  1. I will miss Bauserman. I was very much hoping he would earn the start.
  2. That's not what Bo said about SJB. He said they put him out there because they have confidence in him - not that he would start. Having said that, I expect SJB to start against Minnesota, or at the very least see significant playing time. EDIT - had to strike through some of that. I know for a fact I heard Bo say the part in the first line I didn't strike through, but I'm watching Big Red Wrapup just now and Brian Rosenthal from the LJS just said that Bo basically did say that SJB 'probably earned the start.' Mea culpa! Sorry, guys.
  3. They gave up 22 to Toledo and 24 to Miami. It's the first time they've given up more than 24 points, though.
  4. My understanding is that Bo and Dirk are taking this time to do some fly-fishing, long chats by the fire, and taking walks in the woods. You know - bonding time, together time. Fix what went wrong, heal the hurt.
  5. Very much agree with this. I think Sam has us a little low, but not egregiously so. And we haven't exactly lit the world on fire on either side of the ball to MAKE him rank us higher, either. Force his hand. Blow out a good team and make him raise us up there.
  6. You're really Bill Snyder, aren't you? You mean the Bill Snyder that's 5-0... The Bill Snyder whose team hasn't played Wisconsin at Camp Randall.
  7. Turns out, according to the BTN Stats Guy, that Taylor's 102 yards and Rex's 119 BIG yards were the first time the Buckeyes have allowed two 100-yard rushers in a game since 1988 in The Game vs. Michigan. Pretty cool.
  8. I'm not as scared of Persa as some. Since that achilles injury his mobility is gone. We're gashed by mobile QBs, but when it comes to statues, we perform quite well. I'd love to see EMart get back at DE for this game (unless the EMart at LB was a one-game experiment for the Buckeyes) and just set him loose on Persa for the first quarter.
  9. Watch the video. Spurrier so upset with an article, from last Spring, that he refuses to do a presser with the guy in the room. LINK
  10. By all means, start a new topic that's more interesting to talk about. I think it would kind of fun to have a guess how many posts Knapp with have in the month of October poll thread. Maybe the winner could get a Husker T-shirt. It would be guess the number of Jelly Beans in a Jar game we all did in school. I'll take 401 posts. averages 10.89 a day - and that is scewed by the fire Watson thread. I'd go w/ 425 just because I know I can get him to post 100-150 on the last few days if needed by simply starting a thread that involves martinez bashing mixed in with a little dirk love, plus some "fire pelini" stuff on the side if needed. if all else fails maybe I can get a former player to tweet something negative about the team. that'll push him over the top. Once again going personal. Typical kchusker_chris - getting all worked up.
  11. What can you point to as evidence of this? Sipple has been critical of Pelini often, and has taken heat from Stadium Drive for it, and from Pelini directly. The difference between Sipple and Dirk is that Sipple is a professional journalist and understands how to maintain his professionalism while being critical. You're not going to see a public dressing-down of Sipple like we saw for Dirk, but you had better get your facts straight before making statements like the bolded above and "Sipple is the staff's mouthpiece." He is not, not even close, and he's borne the brunt of Bo's anger before.
  12. If you asked the hippies in the 60s what their focus was, you wouldn't have gotten much of a cohesive answer, certainly not in the beginning. But from that whole freaky Peace/Love/Kum-Ba-Yah movement we got, at least partially, some of the most important and historic social rights legislation passed in this country's history. There are going to be those people who just don't know much about politics, society, or business. But they still have a voice, and they still have a right to use it. I can ignore them if I don't like their voice (and I've pretty much ignored the 99ers so far), so there's no harm done if they protest.
  13. Pretty sure that was Steinkuhler in the third quarter. He got taken down, but it was more a factor of getting tangled up than getting tackled. The guy got Stein's center of gravity all out of whack and shoved him down. I wouldn't have called that one holding, more like a pancake.
  14. Looks like the latest board upgrades have been a success. No crashing for the last two games!

I don't have any idea if this has been ask, if so I appologize. But is there a reason why on the main page the big HB's with the football logo overlap the title's?

If the board didn't crash after Wiscy, I think we're golden.

dizzturbed, is that using a regular computer or a mobile device? If a regular computer, you may want to post that in the Board Feedback forum. zoogies is much better at diagnosing these problems than I am, and he may not see this.

  15. We must have been saving it for an important game. We're keeping the offense vanilla for... Minnesota. That's the ticket.
  16. Godwin's Law is dumb. It's simply pointing out that when people try to make comparisons they typically fall back on the most obvious point of reference because, frankly, most people don't know much about much. It doesn't mean the conversation is over, and in fact the people invoking Godwin's Law are equally at fault for being unable to perpetuate the conversation. Simply crying, "Godwin's Law!" does not win an argument. But Nebraska Fan has his own version of Godwin's Law - whenever we have a debate about the team that falls into rhetorical impasse, inevitably comparisons are made to our 90s teams. We can call it Knapp's Law, and I can get a nickel every time someone makes such a reference.... wait, wait, I'm being told there will be no nickels.
  17. Here's a thread from BuckeyePlanet, my "second home" in the Big Ten message boards, talking about Husker fan treatment of Buckeye fans. From everything I've read from Buckeye fans, not only will they make the trip back when they return, but they're going to bring friends with them. That kind of positive advertising is invaluable to the local economy. Both Lincoln and Omaha got a tourism boost this weekend from all the Ohio State fans. Does anyone think Madison will get a similar boost next time we play at Camp Randall? I highly doubt it. It's kindergarten-simple: Treat others the way you want to be treated. That's really all Husker fans do.
  18. As a regular denizen of the upper reaches of the north end zone, I definitely agree with this. They should have put ramps up to this stretch of the stadium, but I'm not sure where they'd base them - the dock is right below the NW corner and the track is on the NE corner. In fact, they had to remove some of the track seating to make space for the east stadium expansion. Add me in as another person agreeing with the post-game radio advertisement haters. I get that they are a business, and that the bulk of their budget comes from those ads during football season, but it jumped the shark at least a decade ago with these ads. WAAAAY too many of them.
  19. Then how do you explain the lack of audible clapping when injured players walked off the field? Surely you heard that, too? It was louder than the boos.
  20. By all means, start a new topic that's more interesting to talk about.
  21. I'm rewatching this game on DVR, and there's a very important thing that you have to note - the booing you heard on TV was because of strategic placement of the microphones, and not so much because everyone was booing. From Bo's reaction to the boos and the fact that I could barely hear them at the north end zone, I think it's pretty clear that the majority of booing came from the student section. HOWEVER, there's an important contrast to draw from the TV broadcast. I'm just now watching Ohio State's first possession of the second half, and T-Mo just got banged up, was on the carpet, and is walking off the field. Pretty much the whole stadium was clapping as he got to his feet, it was VERY audible in the stadium, but you can barely hear it on TV. This is a great lesson - do not depend on what you see or hear on the TV for your game analysis. I was very surprised to hear all of the comments/questions about the booing when I got back from the game. I think the folks sitting near the students and watching on TV know far more about it than those of us in the rest of the stadium. Further, you wouldn't know from watching the TV broadcast, but everyone was applauding when Moore walked off the field. Again, you cannot depend on the TV broadcast to give you an accurate picture of what was going on. I'm glad I finally got to those two points in the game. I wasn't going to say anything about the booing as I saw it was overblown on TV, but then when you couldn't even hear the applause for Moore, that made up my mind to post about it here. Hope that helps clear that up.
  22. I thought Quincy was just a step ahead of everyone getting to the end zone. I've rewatched the first half on my DVR, right up to the end. I'm going to go through the whole "booing" sequence, then the fun begins when I get to watch the second half.
