People are just voicing their opinion as to who "looks" best from their vantage point. The great thing about the hire is that a guy who has been in the new coaches shoes will make the decision. He is going to assess their ability not only from their W-L record but by asking their philosophy on the things TO sees as critical to their success at NU. If he picks BO it will not be because of a Bogasm or if Gill not because he won a few at Buffalo or coached here. He may not only not pick one of the two, he may not even seriously consider either one. He will pick the guy most suited for the job as he sees it. What was the ? again?

I think we are missing the point here. The guy is part of "the family" whether we like his coaching or not. Let's take the job performance aspect out of it. A family is fearing for the life of a loved one. It is no different than KC finding out his kid has cancer. Are you saying you would not send a note that you hope his kid gets through it because he won't change a pass coverage. It is neither criticizing or condoning the job he has done on the field. If it makes you feel better don't make an apology, just send well wishes and leave it at that.

I completely agree with Coach Prince here. The whole concept of "running up the score" should be abolished in football. If you put on pads and cleats you should expect to stop the guy in front of you. If you can't, they score. That's how the game is played. I have no sympathy for anyone crying about their opponent scoring on them, whether it be NU against KSU or KU against NU. Honestly? Even if we invite a bad 1-AA team here to pick up a check and give us an easy W, it would be OK to score 120? I agree in this case, because K-State is a D1 team that takes football seriously. I think when a team goes out and doesn't put forth any effort, the coach wants his team to see what can happen if they just go through the motions. Prince was probably happy we gave his players a lesson. I thought he halfback pass was a little much though. Actually, when MU went for the fake field goal I felt a little sorry for Pinkel that he needed that to feel good about himself. Perhaps he's compensating. Can't he just buy a Ferrari instead.

No, actually what the three or four blockers around him had to do was peel back and hit somebody instead of allowing possible tacklers to catch up to him. If when he broke into the clear, the guys in red around him would have stopped and hit someone in purple he would have scored. Instead they ran along side him until K-Staters caught up and then it was too late. That and the fact that we have had guys in position to block punts run past the punter instead of hitting him, lead me to believe we have poor coaching on special teams too! I say when BC and staff deplane after the CU game, we "off" them Columbia soccer team style. Firing them is too good for them. Also, anyone who does not agree with me should be dealt with quickly and severely! FU! and I don't mean the Gators.

They could have played the game inside an ant farm, and it would have been better than Super Bowl style coverage and getting beat by 6 td's. We won damnit! By the way, the director was BC's cousin.

It is 4 a.m. do you know where your children are? Where is it written that because BP is head coach you will have a top 10 defense? Also, where does it say, if you have a great offensive mind as HC you will have a poor defense? Everyone wants BP because they think we will hold all opponents to 10 points or less and how hard can it be to score 10 or more per game. Let's hire Bo Pelini and start making plans for the National Championship party we will inevitably have to throw.

Sorry secretasianman, your post is its own worst enemy. How many times did you say, if he does this and if he does that. You are saying, of course he has stunk it up so far ,but what if? We haven't seen him change a thing since he's been here. Now we are supposed to believe he will make all the changes that are necessary to be successful. I am not saying it isn't possible he will reflect back on what he has done in the past and make some changes, but what if we retain him and see the same stuff next year. How big of a fool does TO look like then? BC has to go into TO's office on his hands and knees crying that, I never should have done this and I never should have done that, from now on I will start coaching like this is a college football team and not expecting everyone to perform just because they want to make a pro roster someday, to possibly keep his job. But, we all know that a tiger doesn't change his stripes, BC had his chance and has shown us he does not have the ability to make Husker fans or TO happy. Bye Bye Bill!

Very well put. My favorite part of the teleconference was when BC talked about the 7 td passes and said "that's a record that will stand a long time ..........unless it's done again soon." What the heck does that mean. Come on, say it Bill, you mean it will either be matched or bested a week from Friday (your last day to coach), or no new coaching staff could ever devise a game plan so cunning and effective that we will see a performance like that again. Jeez. The guy was definitely conducting an "open" interview for another job. Who can blame him? OK. Everbody who saw the K-State going into the tank thing coming, raise your hand. I actually thought that Prince guy was one of the best motivators out there. I hate K-State, but it was fun to watch them play. They always knocked the snot out of people. It was like we switched mojo's with them.

Just out of curiosity what are these reasons topeka? I often am asked my opinion on tough questions and study the topic. I respond that if I was a debate student give me which side do I respond to. You are calling me out on why I posted Bo Pollini would not be my first choice for numerous reasons: Never has has had head coaching experience at a major coaching level. What are his creditionals in recruit's living rooms to get a stud to sign on the dotted line? LSU is highly ranked but the defense is less than stellar (granted it is ranked better than 119th right now). Calling out Head Coach Bill Snyder at KSU for running up the final score 5 years ago when Bo's defense could not stop the Cats from running up the middle time after time inside the hash marks? He would not endear himself or our program to the 'lets give him a break' fraternity. His only game as 'Head Coach' at NU was taking someone else's team in a bowl game victory. Why did he settle for a 'co-defensive' coordinator job at OU after leaving NU? IMHO, to give him a chance at redemption against NU when OU played us and #2 a bigger paycheck than an OC at a smaller program. And then I don't remember he had many any other offers from ANY OTHER SCHOOLS. Pause: But, putting on the debate hat, if he is our replacement coach, I'll defend him when attacked by my customers coast to coast. I just need to study his resume and build a defense for him. Nothing comes to mind right now other than his rah rah coaching type. KSU has a rah rah guy now and I'm not impressed with his record right now. On the other hand...I could defend if we hired him, I hope. And sources tell me I should start doing my research. I'm sorry, this paragraph shouldn't get me moved to the 'rumors' link! Don't forget the possible negative recruiting against NU (P. Dillard claim). Paranoia about SP ruining his chances at Pitt. Everyone is assuming he is the frontrunner, but before he is put in charge at NU, TO is going to check into this guys background with a fine-tooth comb. He has to have reservations about Bo going into this. I doubt it means much to TO that people on message boards want BP. Just being realistic. He will have to knock Tom's socks off in an interview to get the job. That's my opinion.
