And apparently the president and AD didn't even want to bring him back, but were overruled: Wonder if anybody is having second thoughts about letting Maryland into the Big Ten right about now. And if there's any Maryland recruits worth going after. (Edit: Maryland's class is currently 2nd from the bottom in the Big Ten, with only 10 commits, all 3*. I don't imagine it will be going up much - and this gives other teams some huge ammunition to use against Maryland in recruiting.)

Ohio State has had a pretty weak rushing game this season, currently ranked #68, compared to their #2-ranked passing offense. So rain might work in our favor.

Hmm, off in hypothetical land, I wonder if we'd continue having the OC coaching the WRs. OCs tend to coach QBs, but I don't think Verduzco is going anywhere, nor do I think anyone wants him to.

Wisconsin is just about eliminated from winning the West now. The would need Northwestern to lose two more conference games, and they only have three left to play: Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois. Also, we now have a better record than Rutgers, so there's that.

I was just looking at the strength of schedule last night. I imagine playing Bethune-Cookman will bring it down a bit. But then Ohio State should bring it back up.

Verduzco has said explicitly that he only wants to coach QBs, not be an OC or anything. I could maybe see him leaving for an NFL job, but that's about it.

Sometimes I feel like the guys who voluntarily take off their Blackshirt are the ones who deserve them most, or at least understand it best. I think back to Callahan's last season, when Zack Bowman stopped wearing his. He went on to play for eight seasons in the NFL, it's not like he didn't have the talent to be a Blackshirt. He probably understood the tradition better than his coaches did.

@BigRedBuster Sure, he might have heard a few things, but doesn't it still seem like kind of an odd comment for Tre to be making when his knowledge of it is second-hand at best? @swmohusker The coaches are evaluating players based on what they do during practice and games, not based on what they did last year with the previous staff. I remember Frost saying in spring that they didn't bother watching much of last year's film.

Man, that 2014 OL class. Foster, Farmer, and Gates - all 4* guys coming out of high school. I still wonder what might have been if they hadn't been put through The Mike Riley Experience...

Minnesota's rushing defense was ranked #4 in the Big Ten before this weekend. Some coaches pay lip service to wanting one of the best rushing offenses in the conference. Others actually build it.

@krc1995 It's because of all that sugar in their sweet tea. And salt when someone suggests that the SEC as a whole ain't all it's cracked up to be.
