  1. I would say even with McKewon, comparing his pre-OWH writing, he's had a bit of that as well. Not nearly as bad as some, but a bit.
  2. Can't say I disagree, although you might as well say the whole OWH staff.
  3. Right? Like that place has closed, and the place that took its location afterward has also closed. Here's the links for Capital of Texas Nebraskans: http://cotn.me/ https://twitter.com/COTNgbr (Sorry for the thread hijack, @MichiganDad3
  4. I was thinking the same as I watched it, you can't really get 'proper' form with that kind of lift.
  5. @PasstheDamnBallGuy Yeah, that's where I go. I kinda miss Third Base, to be honest. They had enough screens that they could easily be seen from any seat, while at Sam's Boat, half the seats you're looking waaay across the restaurant to see the screen. Third Base just got too crowded after Ohio State started having their watch parties there (supposedly Sam's Boat asked them to leave for being too rowdy). Then again, it probably would've been fine later in the season, as small as the Nebraska crowd got to be.
  6. Ditto this rec. I watch all the games with the Austin equivalent, they're all on TV. Looks like this is the spot for Houston: "Watch parties are at the Fox and Hound Sports Bar located on Westheimer, approximately 1 miles west of Beltway 8 between Wilcrest Dr. and S. Kirkwood Rd."
  7. Good teams that all too often couldn't get out of their own damn way, led by a good man that all too often couldn't get out of his own damn way.
  8. Article from Barfy @ OWH, written after the Minnesota loss: http://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/barfknecht-huskers-lack-tom-osborne-and-former-administration-s-internal/article_8294ab84-c802-11e7-b611-5b958b55918c.html
  9. ^ People gave Riley flak for attending a Salt Dogs game just before the start of the season last year...
  10. These days, I'm just hoping we don't set a new record for longest stretch without a conference championship. I believe the previous worst stretch was 22 seasons without a championship, between Biff Jones winning it in 1940 and Devaney in 1963.
  11. He said they were becoming obsolete, but yeah. https://www.cornnation.com/2014/6/29/5844500/nebraska-football-offensive-coordinator-tim-beck-interview
  12. Funny what happens when you bring in a red-hot guy who just went undefeated instead of a career .500 guy that nobody's heard of, huh? Pretty much the same way it was with Osborne, right? Set it up so that if just one defender misses his assignment, it's off to the races.
  13. The many faces of Tyjon Lindsey...
  14. Let's not forget that his bosses, Bounds and Green, did the same thing before they hired Moos! Little different result than when a guy like Perlman just ices out Osborne with decisions like this, huh?
  15. "The worst part for Mick Stoltenberg would be if there wasn't a season for redemption." I feel for some of the guys who won't get that opportunity.
  16. I must confess, I do love me some figs as well. "Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, 'May you never bear fruit again!' Immediately the tree withered." - Matthew 21:19 "He struck down their vines and fig trees and shattered the trees of their country." - Psalm 105:33 (I wonder if the bible says anything about figging...)
  17. Cotton-polyester shirts are my secret sin. "Keep my decrees. Do not mate different kinds of animals. Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material." - Leviticus 19:19
  18. Yeah, doing this at the state level is probably kinda meaningless - a lot of states have substantial differences in cost of living in different areas.
  19. I've never been myself, but I'll say that this year's will probably have a line that's twice as long as normal, if not more.
