  1. I think you may have struck on the answer to the question. I think that Bo is looking for a level of effort and a degree of assignment-correct play that is consistent - every week. When he sees that, he awards them. ding ding ding We have a winner..... exactly what I was thinking.
  2. Lucky is the better back, especially in the way we are running the offense now. It shouldn't be a question anymore. Can't play if you fumble, TO believed that.
  3. No way does A&M makes a bowl, 2-5 with OU and UT left? They'll be lucky to get past Iowa St on Saturday....... I think he was saying maybe Baylor will beat A&M, but not Nebraska. Yeah, Exactly what I meant. Baylor might beat A&M but Not NU.. First, you're from Leander? That's epic. I lived in Cedar Park up until the summer after of my sophomore year when I moved to DFW. Secondly, my whole family has attended Baylor and we've had season tickets since I was a kid. I, of course, am an NU fan and future student. I've seen both sides of this with special insight to the NU football program and the improvements made and getting to see Baylor football up close almost every Saturday. This ain't yesteryear's Baylor team. I'm not saying they're the best in the Big 12, but if you put them in any other conference in the country excluding the SEC, Baylor would be a bowl team and would probably be competing for a championship in some. Robert Griffin will be one of the greatest QBs in Big 12 history by the time he's done. He's in the same mold as Vince Young with a few minor differences...Griff is about 2 inches shorter (VY is 6'5"), a little thinner, has a better arm than VY did, and might be faster (that's debatable). He needs weapons though. Kendall Wright is a phenomenal true freshman WR who at this point in his career, I'd say compares to a poor man's Jeremy Maclin. He doesn't return punts or kicks because the staff can't afford to get him injured. He's too important to the offense. Defense needs definite work, but this team is a lot better than it has been. This year isn't the year to go bowling for Baylor, but next year probably is in my opinion. So now Griffin is going to be as good or better than Vince Young...there was a Baylor fan on here earlier saying he is better than White from WVU. And saying that he is going to be one of the greatest in Big XII history is a pretty bold statement. I have seen a couple of games and I was not overly impressed. He cannot throw the ball very well and had made some mistakes....not that NU or a freshman has not made any. You realize Griffin is the only D1 FBS QB who's thrown over 100 passes who has still yet to throw a pick? YES, AND I ALSO REALIZE THAT THEY THROW ALMOST ENTIRELY SCREENS, SWINGS, AND JAILBREAKS. NANCY KERRIGAN COULD COMPLETE A LOT OF THOSE PASSES, WITH THE BAD LEG. You also realize that Baylor has only had 1 turnover in the past 5 weeks and that includes performances in against 3 of the nation's top defenses in UConn, OU, and OSU? DID YOU SERIOUSLY JUST INCLUDE UCONN IN THAT LIST? I said he was better than Pat White and he absolutely is. OPINIONS DON'T COUNT IN THIS TYPE OF ARGUMENT, IF YOU TRULY BELIEVE THIS THEN DEFEND IT. BY WHAT CRITERIA? Again, most people will continue to talk him down because he chose to go to Baylor over bigger schools. I've seen him in every game he's played other than OSU because I couldn't make it to Stillwater and there was no TV. He will be one of the greatest QBs in Big 12 history and if he continues at this rate, probably a first round draft pick. ASININE AND RIDICULOUS. Holy sh!t.... What exactly have you seen that screams NFL caliber QB? Chase f'ing Daniel won't be a first round draft pick, you're trying to tell me he is going to be? He has talent, but he isn't Vince Young. Right now he is what Jammal Lord would be in that offense, except Jammal would have more rushing yards.
  4. Whoa, whoa. Calm down there tough guy. Don't think you have to bet to believe. That is kind of ridiculous, don't you think? What is wrong with them believing in the nearly impossible? I agree, the chances of beating OU are low. Let them have their fun. I know you'll be supporting the Huskers during that game just like everyone else, and I know you realize that (sorry for the cliche) Rome wasn't built in a day. Hoping the Huskers win the Big 12 North and believing they are going to are two different things. It is important for the team to believe that, not for us. There is nothing wrong with being realistic as well as optimistic. Just don't threaten people with dumb bets like that, how does that prove what they believe? I got one, if you stop being an internet tough guy I'll give up my board privileges, and my car, and my house, and my Jenna Jameson porno classics. If I don't do it then I don't truly believe you are a bad a$$.
  5. Ya, and I think Marlon Lucky scores on that play!
  6. I disagree. Colorado is a good team, and Nebraska has KU at home. I think it is Mizzou's to lose, and if they drop one or two more, you heard it here first, look out for the Cornhuskers. Kansas was a good story for a year, and they didn't look that good Saturday. OU looked that bad. Between losing their best defensive player and their best receiver and the emotional letdown from their biggest game of the year they were flat. Kansas is not going to win the North. Matter of fact, I don't see a sure win left on their schedule. KSU is the one I really feel is up in the air (along with NU). They could lose out guys, and that is a reality. 10/25 No. 8 Texas Tech 11/01 Kansas State 11/08 @ Nebraska 11/15 No. 1 Texas 11/29 @ No. 15 Missouri Show me a game on there you are truly confident about. Confident enough that if you're woman made plans you wouldn't go balistic on her about it if you had to miss the game.
  7. Since that is likely where KU will be, I think you will not. Let's see if you can win in Lincoln first, before we start that kind of talk.
  8. If this is true, it is ri-god-damned-diculous. But I guess, look at the source. As Ron Burgundy would say, "When in Rome..." (before you jump on me, I know it doesn't make sense. Its not supposed to.)
  9. I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, it is about co*k holsters and fat girl vaginas. Wanted to type that, once in a lifetime chance.
  10. You are kidding me, right? I would make that argument against Pinkel and Mizzou, not Texas and Mack Brown. Wow. You would argue that Mack Brown is a better coach than Pinkel? I have to disagree. Mack Brown consistently fields under achieving teams with world-class talent. The guy should write a book on how to squander talent. Texas has a top 5 recruiting class virtually every year since the mid 90s, and they have only 1 NC to show for it. As far as I am concerned, the only saving grace of the Texas coaching staff is Will Muschamp. I would also argue that the current Mizzou team is extremely well coached by a guy who knows how to use the weapons he has. It would not surprise me if they beat Texas. Where to start.... Mack Brown has won 9 games every year at Texas and 10 for the last 7. I would argue that Pinkel has wasted more good talent than Pelini has on his roster. You honestly believe that Pinkel knows how to use the talent he has? Even a blind dog finds a tree to piss on, and that is what you have with Daniel and Maclin. Brad Smith has been brought up, but this team has underacheived for years. With the talent he has now it is no wonder he is winning when it doesn't matter, yet still manages to be unable to get over the hump and win any kind of a championship whatsoever. Mack Brown has won not only a conference title, something Pinkel hasn't done and won't do this year, and a National Championship. Only one NC, you say. That is idiotic. Only one is more than 7 teams in the Big 12 have ever won. I also don't put much stock into these so-called recruiting experts. You can plainly see that product on the field in Lincoln right now. They don't know they're a$$ from a hole in the ground when it comes to what these kids will do on the field in college. I seem to remember a coach that we all loved that didn't win a NC for 22 years, squandered a lot of chances, but won 9 games every year. Mack Brown has a lot in common with Tom Osborne. You just are blind to it because he coaches Texas.
  11. You are kidding me, right? I would make that argument against Pinkel and Mizzou, not Texas and Mack Brown. Wow.
  12. I stand corrected. but it's not solely on Asante in that position either. Murillo SHOULD NEVER have let a receiver the quality of crabtree behind him... thats pretty basic. no? No probably not. It was sort of half and half on crabtree. Murillo got caught looking in the back field and Asante had a lot of ground to cover and probably some responsibility on another receiver in the middle of the field. From watching the Neb Football Show and using DVR to pause and rewind I watched that play over and over. It appears it was a straight Cover 2. Murillo is to have mid to short flat, linebackers the middle, the nickel back the other side flat, free safety center, SS (Asante) deep third (Murillo's side) and the opposite CB deep third. The main problem, and the reason that Asante mis read the play is because the front 7 gave up on the play. The DL didn't rush, the LB dropped all their responsibilities, thus making the secondary have to react quickly. Asante probably made the decision to take that post route because that is the easiest throw against a cover 2 and he had to act quickly. Murillo didn't have a choice because by the time he went to release Crabtree Asante was so out of position, due to covering the job of the LB, that he was beat. All comes down to, as Carl Pelini said, the oddness of the play itself and that most thought it would be blown dead. Play to the whistle, right? Pelini believes strongly in the zone blitz scheme, and relys on different variations of zone for his coverage. It is a principal from the NFL that works fantastic when run correctly. The problem is that when one breakdown occurs, you don't have the backup like you do in a 2 deep man scheme that NU typically ran in TO's days. It is a better system for today's game, and once the system is understood, it will be dominant. Look at the tapes from NU '03. That system has evolved and gotten better as evidenced by LSU last year. Truly beautiful if you watch the disguises and blitzes from the secondary. Don't know how a QB could read this defense. Probably why he's been so good. Sorry for the rant.
  13. Its a good idea for this season, especially against top tier teams. I still think we need to run the ball on Baylor, ISU, and KSU. We have to form that identity if that is what we want in a team. You can't form that identity on the practice field, the players won't believe they can do it until they do it against familiar foes over and over again in games. That is what builds confidence.
  14. TWINE? However, I hope KSU beats you. Just because that was stupid for fans of a bad team to make. BTW, they have the same amount of conference championships as you. ...and they have been to 3 championship games and you've been to two, and not one since 1998 where it took you 2 OTs to beat guess who? Yep, Kansas State. Idiots.
  15. You don't think the 18-23 year olds that continually hear that what they are doing every day is "unneccessary and stupid" by the national media have to deal with it? ..........and I'm not talking about football players, I'm talking about soldiers. How's that for a little perspective?
  16. Wow, finally something positive to think about.
  17. Well, the crazy ass in me would like to see him chug a case of red bull and tear into his ass like a mongoose on meth. The Husker in me wants him to remember it for a few years from now and be polite about it in the moment.
  18. Decent game....Baylor....I just threw up a little. I know, feel like Tom Arnold when he woke up after that drunken night in Vegas that got him married to Roseanne....throwing up in your mouth on the way to the bathroom thinking how in the hell did I slip this low.
  19. The point of the post is that is embarassing, not whether it is accurate. I think we all agree that it probably isn't that bad of a pick. I agree, can't believe we've fallen this far. The faster everybody, and it took a while for me I admit, realizes we have a long way to go the faster Bo and Co. can fix it. We aren't Nebraska football anymore, and won't be for a while. Sooner rather than later, but not right away.
  20. Seems to me you should take that up with your pastor! j/k
  21. And how is front-butt at ND so low on the list?
