You mean the same Joey Votto who is 34 and in the midst of a ten year 225 million contract?? I would take Hoz 10/10 times with that deal

He is guaranteed 25 million until he's 40..

and Hoz will be 36 at the end of the Royal deal with career numbers not anywhere near Votto's, even though he's six years younger.  Hoz is a defensive guy and there is better value out there at 1b if the Royal's don't get some pitching.  He's great defensively and somewhere in the middle third when compared to other starting 1st basemen.  If he thinks he can do better then 20 million/year, then he should go chase that.  

Hoz career .284/.342/.439 - one ring though.  That should count  for something.
