  1. I don't think you can go wrong with Kris or Josh. I voted Kris because of his stats. By the end of Henery's time at NU we may be rethinking our picks... Let's hope so.
  2. Kansas State has a better chance of finishing in the top 25 than KU. If you want predictions - I'll give you one - the next time KU beats NU: 1. Mangeno will have lost 350 pounds from being on "The Biggest Loser" 5 straight seasons 2. K-State and KU will have merged football programs to try and compete in the Big 12 - and they still cannot 3. political correctness has reached an all-time high which forces Nebraska to play their blind QB for 2 quarters (a new big 12 regulation) throwing 35 interceptions. KU pulls out a squeeker 3-0.
  3. spot on. ganz only had 3 or 4 games under his belt this last season and he did just fine. in fact he did just fine in his first game as a starter........ on top of that our new starter could easily be more athletic, as at least 3 of the 4 qbs under scholarship are more athletic than ganz is. we will be just fine on offense and i would not be one bit surprised to see a top 20 offense next season..... Top 20 - agreed. I would be happy with that - add in a top 20 d-fense and the Huskers will end up being a pretty darn good team.
  4. I agree - Bo knew what was going on when he offered the scholorship to Cooper. I say give the kid a chance. My biggest concern is during the football offseason. Does he work with the qbs in 7 on 7? Does he take batting practice? Football first or baseball? Is he a baseball player playing football or the other way around? We'll find out soon enough.
  5. I've heard so many people say that our offense is not going to be very good next year. I don't buy it. Yes we may slip in our passing numbers but I think our rushing is going to be much improved. It's not like we only have a freshman qb to choose from. Lee and Witt aren't exactly seasoned vets but they do bring with them a couple years in the program. Watson is capable of leading an offense where the pass opens up the run or the run opens up the pass.
  6. You guys have been busy. Nothing wrong with a little offseason bantering. I do agree that the past couple years the Jayhawks have gotten much better as Nebraska was getting much worse. I do however believe BOTH programs have turned that proverbial corner.
  7. I always thought the team really became a team during the offseason. When they're all going thru the conditioning - when the real work is being done.
  8. Not 'til 2012 What makes you think the streak will end in '12? You didn't hear? that's when the world ends! Isn't that the same as if the sellout streak ends?
  9. Too high in my opinion. I do think we'll end that high (or higher) but I don't think we deserve to start out that high.
  10. I respect what KU has done the past couple of years and mean no disprespect with this statement - They're still Kansas. A lot is being put on the QB loss. I agree it's a big question mark on the offense. Remember - we don't have Cali as our playcaller. Watson will figure out how to get this offense working with the people we have. I have a feeling we're going to see more short passes, dump-offs to the RB, and a lot more rushing attempts. I think he'll put our QB (whomever it is) in a position for success. Look at Baylor for a great example. NU rolls in this game.
  11. I did not know that. Quite an accomplishment. I sure hope he makes it to the NFL and proves himself. He really didn't seem to get into a nice groove when he was here. How much time to you guys see Colins getting next year? Helu and Q probably own the position right now - Mendoza will earn some snaps. Kind of a log jam again at RB.
  12. Where should I start? Virginia Tech beat us last year in Lincoln. They won the ACC Championship and won a BCS bowl. They'll be ranked in the top 15 to start the season, and in the top 5 if they beat Bama. Most importantly, they return their starting QB (who is 13-2, second in VT history to Michael Vick) while we do not. The game is in Blacksburg, where they don't lose too many. I'm not saying we don't have a chance. A win would be HUGE for us. But any moderately objective outlook should favor VT. Who said anything about being objective. I am anything but objective. The Va Tech game was early in the season. I firmly believe we improved more than they did since that game. You have a great point with regards to the QB situation - they definately beat us on that front. I believe we have an edge in total offense and kicking (Henery is a stud). That and we're the good guys. Huskers win.
  13. Turner will be a force next season. It will help that Suh will be back.
  14. I realize its a tough time for some people right now, but do you really think its going to stop people from paying $5-12 with free admission for kids from going to Memorial Stadium? The $5-$12 admission sure keeps people from going to the mens basketball games.....hahahaha. I don't care who you are - that's funny.
  15. Why does everyone think we will lose at Va Tech? I predict 11-1 - OU is going to be tough with Bradford back.
  16. I'm sure they all will get an equal chance, during the offseason, to play qb. I expect that. What I hope is that the coaches are willing to give them all a chance in live action during the season. Either during mopup duty or some random series during the game. Look at all the depth we have at qb but it is all just potential until they get game speed action and are allowed to prove themselves.
  17. I say put Green on the scout team this next year then let him compete with Spano/Lee/Witt for the starting job in 2010. To fully grasp this offense in a few short months seems like a daunting task. Add in the fact that this is his first year at college away from home. A lot for a young man to deal with. I do think Bo will give him an equal chance to earn the job but I don't think there is any chance he'll get it this year. What would be great is if Ganz would come back as a grad assistant and work with the quarterbacks. I think he would be a fantastic coaching addition.
  18. I for one do not know what a "proper throwing motion" looks like other than I probably do not have one. I do however know what a proper 12oz. curl looks like. I think I'll do some training for perfectiontonight...
  19. Lookin like that - she would be worth the shellfish in the shorts...
  20. I think it comes down to who works harder in the offseason. My vote is for our boys. To those of you who do not think we have a chance to win this game - try some red koolaid. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there thinking that we're going to win the national championship every year. Go Big Red!!!
  21. I wanted to announce that along with Suh and Spiller - I will be coming back next year too. Go Big Red! (oh and go Tigers)
  22. Gawd, I HATE it when someone says something like..."he needs to work on his throwing motion".Listen,I dont care if he throws it underhanded if he can complete passes at a 65 % clip nest year.I guess its a pet peeve of mine with those kind of statements. How about..."he needs to work on his accuracy"...I can take that.Or he needs to learn to read defenses better...I can take that BUT Throwing motion?WHO CARES as long as he completes em at a high percentage. Agreed. Wasn't too long ago they used to shoot free throws underhand. It if went in the basket it counted...
  23. Spiller staying - Harper leaving - stock going up at Clemson. Good luck next year guys. Hope we can meet you in the Ntl Championship game...
  24. Hands down - Fryer #1. The question, for the receivers at NU, has not been how many catches can they make but how well they block downfield. Just as we cannot compare Fraizer (best QB in history of college football) with Ganz we cannot compare Swift with some of the great receivers in NU history. It's all about their ability to do what the coaches ask them to do. Just because we run a different offense does not mean that all of a sudden we have the best quarterbacks and receivers in NU history.
